I like watching tech videos. They're therapeutic. I have EmuDeck installed as well. So far, I'm only emulating PS games from PS1 to PS3. Turok runs pretty well on RPCS3. The only hangup is that the audio kinda crackles at times but the frames are a respectable 30 FPS.

I'm tweaking some settings for fight night champion, this game can play at a stable 30 fps. Pretty impressive.

Hi mate. Love your channel. Question. I have a JB folder and .dec.iso of Godfather Don's Edition. Which one do I use for RPCS3? Does it matter? Thanks bud, and keep up the great vids!
Just put them in the roms folder and see if the emulator can recognise it. If not, then the format is not supported.

Skate 3 is running kinda slow motion. I followed the settings .
I'm not sure if I played that on steam deck but I played it on pc with the recommended settings and it was fine.
I would add, to go check out rpcs3 compatibility for a game before you play it since not all games run smooth on the emulator. Not a hardware issue just optimization unfortunately. For example, Resistance: Fall of Man runs smoothly but Infamous 2 is a stuttery mess.
Yes. But still go check out your favorite games. Games you want to play inspires people to tinker with the settings and maybe they can get it to work better. I'm tinkering with fight night champion now. I played round 2, 3 and 4. I didn't know I missed this one. In the compatibility it says in-game, but I've found settings making it a stable 30 fps on steam deck.
I downloaded Soul Calibur IV but everytime I try to search a game patch for it nothing seems to show up, just something about god war and other games that I don’t even have downloaded on my deck.
not all games has patches or requires them. try this settings in the wiki page wiki.rpcs3.net/index.php?title=SoulCalibur_IV
When I go onto the parsers bit to add a shortcut to my game, rather than it saying at the bottom preview like it does on yours when you select the parsers mine says add games and is unable to find the game I am searching for. What do I do
I would switch the theme to classic and check the parser settings.
When i get to the point where we have to create the short cut for the game, my game doesnt appear, only my ps2 games that where previously installed, any suggestions?
it's defintely the steam rom manager settings. make sure you toggle ps3, and after you press parse, check if the ps3 roms are reconized. make sure you press save to steam!
Love the videos man! A bit stuck tho…. I have mounted an iso file and extracted the content etc. now I’m struggling to unmount the iso. I have unmounted but it won’t remove itself and the data is taking up my storage. Any ideas on fixing this? Thanks
Just click unmount and restart the steam deck.
So I tried adding MGS4, but it crashes at the title screen and its title on steam rom manager is its serial number. Any help?

I’ve deleted old roms but can’t get more space in my download section, how do I get my storage back after a rom has been deleted?

I can get the game to load but it won’t register the built in controller settings. So I can’t move or make selections. Can you assist with that?
Play around with the input settings. Mine works so I'm sure you can get it to work.
6:44 I’m having trouble around here. I got the ISO in side the ps3 roms but it’s not showing up on RPCS3 when I refresh. I’m guessing it has to be in a folder but how do you even do that?
You can extract the iso like a zip file.

That ps3_game and ps3_disc and everything should be put inside a folder with the name of your game. Then put that folder inside Emulation/roms/ps3/

Thanks for the guide. Initially the game I added was not showing in the game list even after refreshing and restarting, but after opening it manually via file -> "open game" once, it later showed up in the list so I was able to apply patches and such.

There's an app called mount unmount iso in the discover software center, I use that.

It's wherever you put it. I have mine on my SD card and I put it in the emulation folder roms.

You have to dump your own PS3 games and put them onto your steam deck.

Cant get the Deck inputs to working. controller is set to Evdev and X-box 360 pad 0. please help. have tried a few guides and they all just say it should just work
sorry to disappoint but i just install rpcs3 with emudeck and didn't change any controller input settings and the steam deck controller just works. i checked the settings, if i was to set it myself i would choose Handlers=SDL and Devices=Steam Virtual Gamepad 1.

Did this work for anyone else? No matter what I do the PS3 emulator won’t show up in my game mode. Been trying for weeks.
You need to use steam rom manager to create the shortcuts for you.
If I got windows in my steam deck should I use the option for windows or I can proceed with the steam emulator

@@GrownUpGamingGUG gotcha, btw I like how you do your tutorials as if it's everyone's first video watching. Most people will assume the viewer is already aware of how to do certain steps, so they'll omit those steps which confuses those who haven't done it before. 👍
@@ggmasterguiltygear6315 yes I figured doing it from start to finish seems more complete as a video and if people already know the first steps, they can skip to the part they need.
Has anyone tried using any of the FIFA for PS3 on Steam Deck? How did the career work? for me as soon as I open the coach career the frame rate freezes at 20fps but I don't remember it running like that on PS3 unless there are emulation problems because in the menu it goes to 60fps but as soon as I open the career it freezes at 20 fps

Lifesaver! I run mine through emulation station so adding .ps3dir to the end of the folder of the game files looks to have worked.

I got it working in emulation station. I needed to switch the alternate emulator to the directory version. Man, it takes a long time to compile everything.

Sounds like an issue issue with steam rom manager. Check the settings for the parsers.

I’m very confused, whenever I load up a game, it loads in everything and then instantly crashes! Is there a fix for this?
did you check the game is compatible? if it's compatible, check the settings.
I did and it said it was playable, I changed some settings and even went to the wiki and checked to change some recommended setting and still it crashes :(
Every game or just one game? If it's every game then there is obviously something wrong with your settings.
When I open any game with the emulator it loads then goes black screen ?
Did you follow the steps in this video? It could be many reasons actually, so really need to troubleshoot the issue.

It would be a really useful function, for example when playing retro games that have unforgiving difficulty, save states are invaluable.
@@richardteer8169 from what I've read online, save states work but it's not like the retro emulators as the size is much larger for PS3.
@@GrownUpGamingGUGNo worries, that’s great that it at least does support save states because I was looking to play Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries Mode with save states if possible. It’s a super hard game mode where you have to chain 150 kills together in a combo, but you have only 10 seconds between kills. Basically you make one mistake and you’ve lost the combo, having usable save states would make this mode so much easier.

When I go to parsers and click any of the PS3 ones, it says “please shutdown steam if it’s running” haven’t been able to fix it

It says it for you too but then it takes you to that page. When I do it, it get stuck on the parse button, and nothing happens

@@Jona424than it shuts down steam for you. then when i press parse, the shortcuts are created. not really sure why you have issues.

No, my friend, I do not want to run PS2 games, I have installed PS3 games and it works with me, but in the Steam interface it does not appear in a specific box like the rest of the emulators
You can set that up in steam rom manager, in the parser settings you can name the category whatever you want it to appear in steam.

Check your browser, you need to confirm it's okay again for it to download in the downloads tab only your browser. It might think it's harmful.

I've not tested that game so my recommendation is to follow the rpcs3 wiki configs.

Legally you need to have the PS3 game and dump the rom to play on the emulator.

That's not right. Maybe try reinstalling it? Do you have a good internet? It does look for updates when you launch. Could it be stuck due to slow internet?

That's weird. Maybe try installing it through rpcs3 website instead of emudeck.

Not sure what's happening on your side. But you can download it on pc or phone and transfer it to your steam deck I think. Just another way to do it.

I can't get to the file unless I'm in gaming mode to upload the firewall for some reason. Also, when you go into the p3 emu, the system is just like a p3 setup, but I can't find my game I downloaded in the ps3 rom

Ps3 and 360 is a bridge too far for steam deck. I have had maybe a handful of games work. I had Red Dead and UFC undisputed 3 working tho, which is all I wanted.
Red dead redemption is better on switch emulator now.

Ps3 was he end of my gaming era. I Don't really remember anything fun on the PS4 and have no interest with PS5 or Xbx series.

Steam deck will be best choice for retro and modern together. Xbox series X have backwards compatible to the ps3/360 era
