The first lesson of Chess came to Vishwanathan Anand from his mother. His story is quite interesting. His father was in Indian Railways. He got enough chance to travel more and more. At the age of eight, He went to the Philippines, where he was trained in a chess club.
Vishwanathan Anand is also the first player to win Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1991-92.
