Anyone else watching this in 2024 just blown away at how far we've come since these challenges?

Quick tip, from vide settings you can put it to 1.5 or 2 x speed so it is less painful to watch thees super slow movements :D

Learning about robots is so amazing. I am going to make my own.

These comments tho. Guys this is progress looks like. Its slow, and painful. Wasn't too long ago darpa had the "grand" challenge, that featured cars driving willy nilly across the country side. Today he have google cars that drive autonomously all over the country. Now if all the 'experts' here showed up to the competition and not the comment section maybe we all could have been blessed by their robots running showing us how its done.

      Smert
Ouch. True words, though. People talk a lot. Action actually matters.

Split screens on different courses would have been nice.. too many time shot went back to the course only after the action.

I hope the upgrades will be faster. I almost fell asleep waiting for the door.

watching this is frustrating because the camera is never on the action.

What's with the loss of sound?

Wait. Officially KAIST won 1st place with 8 points. But in this coverage it says they only got 7 and were tied for 2nd. I'm confused.

Why wasn’t the Asimo Honda Robot invited to this demonstration?

......, instant gratification during disaster scenarios, isn't a slo-mo appreciation of how we got there.., here. :)

It's a shame that they can make robots, but this channel can't leave time stamps... Smh

No,no,no! you are supposed to cut OUT the long shots with no discernible movement or audio.
Holy hell. I couldn't have done a worse job of editing if I had tried!
Oh, Wait. This is one of those safe-spacey things, so as not to trigger people who identify as attack helicopters, izen tit?
    Please tell me it snot.

Holy hell, the grammar mistakes are real. This is a direct live recording, meaning it was taken from the live event and uploaded onto RUclips. It literally says in the title. The whole "safe space" thing seems crammed in there as well to push your own agenda.

The comment section is hilarious. This is already really amazing. In case if some people don't know, complex physical motions requires much more computation than "intellectual" tasks. For human these tasks look very easy. We human as animals are evolutionarily perfected to perform these seemingly easy tasks but we are not great at logical, computational tasks.

The one with three legs, what a stupid idea for mobility. Having those small thin wheels...

3:13:52 We will now see a human attempt a complex procedure involving a pole and a carabiner :P JK This is really interesting robotics!
