- I emerged from my mom's root cellar dusty, but exuberant with a bucket in hand. "Look what I found!" I exclaimed. I had stumbled across a ten year old seed sprouting kit, just a few days after talking with Chris about wanting to add more fresh greens into our winter diet. But will they sprout?

Amazing...I didn't think they would sprout. Thank you for showing this. Very interesting. ~Pam ~
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I was skeptical myself.
When my grandma passed away I helped clear out her estate. She had two rooms full of food storage that were decades old. I found her sprouting kit from the 1970's and all of them sprouted in one form or another, some were better than others. 30+ year old seeds. I was absolutely amazed. They sat in a dark cool basement and were living still! Now the canned grape juice from 1956 from the year they built their house was an another amazing find. I only took a taste before disposing, but it tasted just fine.
Wow! 30 year old seeds sprouting is amazing!
I remember Kew Gardens in England and David Attenborough got together and made a special where they sprouted seeds for a plant that was just about extinct. The seed were over 100 years old! Interesting experiment.
That is awesome! I wonder what their germination rate.
We love our sprouts I make mine for chow me in, we rinse twice a day in the morning and at night. Nice find I am still just using jar method but may look into a set like this one. 👍🇨🇦🐝 safe
They also sell these trays on amazon without the seeds, and it’s less expensive that way
This is new to me! Please show us how you use them.
So many things you can do! Eat raw in salad or or sandwiches or in tacos. Dry and stir in smoothies. Sauté in stir fry. Juice and drink. Etc.
Great haul💥 I sprout seeds every winter for greens to eat fresh.
I’ve wanted to for a long time!
Nice
Thanks!
what the heck, with all the resources in Missouri, I am surprised that the stores ship food in from other countries.. so sad! they should support local farmers more
Most of the produce sold in America comes from Mexico and Central America year round. Most big farms have turned to corn, soy, wheat… that’s why it’s so important to shop at farmers markets or grow your own food.
When is your birthday? Mine and my son's was Saturday the 19th.
My birthday is Christmas week.
It must be special to share a birthday with your son!
@@LorellaPlanBeeOrchardandFarm It is. Sorry not trying to be nosey. I thought the video said that yours was also last weekend. Maybe I misunderstood or you started taping it a while ago.
I said when my father in law was here for Christmas he made the counter and finished it in time for my birthday. But I just sprouted the seeds this week. :) I hadn’t shown the potting table in a video yet.
@@LorellaPlanBeeOrchardandFarm got it thanks
