How we make comfrey and manure tea fertilizer for our garden AND pasture.

- We have used comfrey and manure tea fertilizer in the garden for a few years, so when we needed to bring our scraggly pasture back to life we decided to see if there was a way to do it on a larger scale using an IBC tote and a sprayer.
We got our sprayer from Family Center Farm and Home, but I'm sure they are available from any farm store or website.

Fertilizer costs have gone through the roof. This is a great alternative to commercial fertilizers. Thanks for explaining this.

So good to go over to natural feeds. Chemical kill the micro organisms in the soil where as your feed will support it. Theres a plant feed that seems to be hitting the headlines in uk. Is it super soil. Its apply once. I think its helping soil to be more alive. I’ll find out for sure. Farms in UK are using i know.

Can't wait to see how your hay yields. Great idea! Is Comfrey grown from seed? I hear so much about it but never see it.
I imagine it could be grown from seed, but if you take a sharp shovel and put it right down through the middle of the plant then take the root and stems and plant, it will grow back amazingly. I’ve already shared my comfrey twice this summer and you would never know it.

I wish we would have done this right after winter. I didn’t think of it until after first cutting. But I have good hopes for 2nd cutting should we get enough rain.

What does the comfrey do?
Comfrey is high in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, plus other nutrients plants need, and many trace elements.
