Thank you for your help. Finally found one on E-Bay that fit. The machine works almost perfectly. Skips a stitch sometimes however I realize it needs to be serviced, which will correct correct problem. Sell was kind enough to tell me they would pay for the correct foot control/power supply, which is awesome. Also found manual that I can get. Everything is great now.
That is great news Linda, I couldn't help but feel sorry about what happened. Just goes to prove that there is still a lot of good will in people! P.S. My daughter and I just finished making a video with me teaching her how to make a skirt which she designed. It was a great honour for me considering most kids would prefer not to be seen with their parents especially on RUclips! 😆 I am hoping to release it in 2 weeks. It turned out beautiful even with problems with the video equipment.
Definitely the first ever sewing video I’ve ever watched! So good seeing you unpack all the bits at the start, and explain what they’re for. And the actual sewing demo at 08:00 brought it all together.
Enjoyed your video. Do you know anything about the vintage elna? I just purchased an Elna Elnita 240 and know absolutely nothing about it. Can you help?
Thanks Linda I appreciate your message! I will be hopefully releasing my 3rd sewing video in the next month or so all going well. I don't know much about the Elnita 240 and just had a quick look on line without much results. However, you have got me curious now. Would you have more information regarding the model? I use to have not one but two peddle powered Singer sewing machines converted to motorised and would you believe it, I gave them away over 25 years ago!!! I didn't have room for them at the time. Big mistake!!! 😆
LOL. It doesn't work. Received the machine and was sent foot control/power supply and unfortunately it's not the correct one for the machine. Upon turning the hand wheel, it's free and works as should. Looked inside and it's very clean. Only thing I found, without power, is stitching is still engaged when winding bobbin. Not sure what to do now. Don't know if I can find the correct foot control/power supply, (it's all one unit) and if not will have to return for refund. Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. :))
Sorry to read this Linda. Ask the seller to check if they sent the right foot, they may have made an honest mistake. I don't know where you are from but I just found some foot control pedals on ebay but they come from the USA.
Sorry, thought I had put Elna Elnita 240. I couldn't find anything on web regarding this machine either. I believe it was made during the 1960's or 70's, just guessing, as it is a zigzag sewing machine with about 18 stitches on it, from looks of photo. Just purchased and haven't received yet. Only video I have been able to find is on youtube, "ruclips.net/video/mPzkC3TfmeA/видео.html" and it's in foreign language therefore I'm not able to understand. Tried to find manual, and only able to get is by paying for it. Should be receiving machine shortly and was hoping to find out something about it. You might be able to tell more from video posted on youtube than I am.
Hi Linda, great video! Even with the guy speaking in Slavic I could identify what he was doing. What a great machine for its time. It looks pretty straight forward. The only thing I noticed he did different to most machines on the market today was putting the bobbin in the casing. The thread goes the opposite direction as i could see, if put in the wrong way it will cause the thread to pucker up underneath, ultimately stopping the machine. Let me know how you go if you have any problems.
Very clear instructions on how to do the cushion, thanks Moussa!!
Thanks 🐝 maybe Riad can give it a go!!!
Great :)) Looking forward to seeing it. That's wonderful your daughter is in video with you. Hope she enjoys sewing and would love to see her design.
After watching this video my wife was inspired to get back into sewing after a lengthy break.
That is great news, I am very happy to know that! It's a great think to do. Thanks Garry
