Thanks! I spilled gas on my shoe, and though they are mowing g shoes, I really don't want something like gasoline against my skin absorbing into my body. Right now they're sitting outside, and unless I can find a really good degreaser that will break down the gasoline, so I can't smell it at all, they will be out there baking in the Sun for the immediate future.
I'm here because my husband constantly has diesel on his clothes. I've been washing them in washer and dryer, now it smells like I dumped diesel in them.... Is there a way to wash or get the smell out of the appliances? All of our clothes now smell like diesel.
We use vinegar in every load no matter the laundry. It’s not gotten the smell out of my clothes yet 😂 works great as softener though because conventional softener actually kills washing machines.
Tried this 4x now. I have a front loading wash so I had to use my tub with the vinegar and let it soak all day, and have put the clothes through the wash with vinegar multiple times and the smell is still there and it’s made my washer reak too😩
If you value your washing machine, throw out the clothes. My husband tried washing his diesel soaked clothes a week ago in the washing machine, and I cannot remove that odor, even after countless vinegar-baking soda washes. It's not worth ruining the washing machine...he will now have to buy a new one!
Take this video down now. Your method does not work, and on top of that, it permanently ruins washing machines as well. Best thing for diesil stained clothes is to get rid of them and replace them.
nope. dont work. my husband work in manufacturing and smells AWFUL of chemicals everyday. what DOES work. Get some Go-Jo (its orange) or Goop; found in auto section and take blob and scrub brush and scrub jeans with it. let it sit for like an hour. then rinse with cold water. then wash in machine.
I spray straight vinegar on my clothes and let sit overnight then wash the clothes. Dawn dish soap on diesel spots helps remove the stain also.
I got fuel on my shoes tried vinegar and baking soda 5 times, but what really worked was keeping my shoes outside for 3 months to air out.

@@reneet5858burn it. I bet it would be gone

I have the same problem with kerosene right now and I'm so scared that my laundry room is gonna start on fire 😅

I've heard vinegar can be very harmful on washing machines as well.
Thank for the tip

Thanks for letting me know
Throw away. I’m dealing with this right now. Nothing will get gas outta clothes. You’re wasting your time!!! Nothing will work

Try running a little dawn dish soap in laundry machine... take a rag and dip it into the suds and wash above water line too...
Thank You!
I have old buckets to do this
I will try it
What about drying it ?
Appliance repairman says vinegar is not good for your machine.
I've heard this as well. Wears out the rubber parts, corrodes the metal parts, etc.

Gotta toss the clothes, petroleum is unforgiving.
That's what I was afraid of. Damn! My good , albeit used, mowing shoes!
Don’t use your washing machine. Use your bath tub or a big trash can.
How about kerosene smell ? It arouses me. It gives me such a turn. But after somedays I hate the odor .
