I'm so glad you reacted to this I love this movie. It is Scotland. I also really love the fact that this movie doesn't have a big romantic love story but is about a mother and daughter. Another Disney Pixar with incredible visuals and a great look into another culture is Coco. Not sure if you've seen it but the animation is incredible.
Yes! That's what makes this movie standout so much, no romance... which I loved haha Coco is on my list for a future watch for the channel, haven't seen it :) Thanks for watching and commenting 💜
23:27 really quickly, Gaelic on it’s own usually refers to Scottish Gaelic, but Irish Gaelic (“Irish” essentially) does exist. Scotland and Ireland (as well as some other parts of the UK and France) have Celtic origins, so that’s where the confusion might be! ^^ anyways, great reaction vid! I’m glad you enjoyed this movie, it’s definitely one of my favourites by Disney/Pixar, and your accurate accidental predictions in places are hilarious ToT for another movie to watch, i really recommend WALL-E if you haven’t seen it yet. although it’s older, the visuals and story is seriously amazing and to this day it’s probably my favourite Pixar film of all time. if you’re leaning towards something more visually appealing with still a really great story however, I’d recommend Moana! it’s probably my favourite “Disney princess” movie alongside Brave.
i've always had such a soft spot for this movie, it's awesome to see someone really enjoy it 💙💙 also if you still want movie recs, i recommend watching the mitchells vs the machines, it's another animated movie that focuses more on family dynamics and it's a good time
if you're into media analysis and in-depth deconstruction, i'd HIGHLY recommend the youtube video "brave: pixar's almost masterpiece" by eliquorice! it's a VERY detailed analysis of this movie and why a lot of people disliked the direction it ended up taking. also, in regards to you mentioning the animation of merida's hair, they actually had to create an ENTIRE new software system for animating her hair specifically!
Loved this movie as a kid, and yes its so beautiful in some scenes. I really liked this video 🙃 if i could propose id say "inside out" pretty sure youd like it 😉
Gaelic is the same language in Scotland and Ireland. there is a difference in how it's pronounced; the Irish pronounce it the way you did, the Scottish form is pronounced as if you're saying "garlic" but without the "r".
Can't believe people would dunk on this one. There's really nothing I could complain about. Ones I can remember off the top of my head, kung fu panda 2-3, pirates of the Caribbean, how to train your dragon series, Harry Potter, WALL-E, and more 😅
If you didn’t catch that, had Merida not followed the wisps when she was a wee lass, she’d have died.

I was just coming down to comment Coco for the visuals and the culture!

"Maybe we shouldn't follow those things"
As the "things" lead her away from the bear in bushes back to her parents who could protect her

The made a whole new, groundbreaking program just to animate the hair. It was a very big deal at the time
