Nice to see that they did a proper job on the audio system, which many manufacturers STILL can’t seem to get right. The sound quality of the Bose system in my C7 GS is a big disappointment in an otherwise superb car. Ah well...
I think the problem audiophiles have with Bose isn't the sound quality: they're definitely great-sounding, great-looking, and are certainly premium systems, although they have produced some duds like your Corvette's. The problem is the market echelon they try to position themselves in, and the price they try to charge for it. If you want a great-quality set of speakers in your living room, you can't go wrong in going to Best Buy and picking up the first Bose you see, and you'll be getting your money's worth. However, there are so many other Japanese and German brands that offer the same or better sound quality for even less money. Bose makes quality products for decent-enough money, but they and the automakers they design audio system for try to position it as a discounted version of Bang&Olufsen, Harmon-Kardon, or Pioneer-level stuff, and it just isn't even close. I'll check the premium audio system option on a car if it's Bose, but sometimes you can spend $1.5k+, even $2k+ to do it, and there's just so much better for that money. Some cars charge that much for a system with handcrafted metal tweeters that rise out of the dashboard. Like the Toyota Corolla, Bose is the "safe" option: you can't go wrong, and the stereotype that people who buy Bose are blind loyalists who know nothing about audio is as wrong as it is insulting, but if you're willing to take some risks and read reviews, you could do better. Bose isn't a ripoff like Beats by Dre, but I'd buy a Sennheiser or Sony pair of headphones for less money vs Quiet Comfort, for example.
MrUbuntuking: Thanks for your thoughtful response. You obviously know a lot more about car audio than I do. My initial disappointment with the Bose in my C7 was triggered by a simple comparison with the HK system in my 2011 Mini Cooper JCW. I just automatically assumed that the eight-year newer system in the Vette would sound better, and it doesn’t. In its favor, the Bose has a lot more amplifier power, but there is something seriously wrong with the midrange. The HK in the Mini is not a super high-end system, but there is a sweetness and a natural-sounding mid-range that the Bose just can’t do, no matter how you fiddle with the EQ controls. Damned frustrating, I tell ya! There is an ‘edge’ on Diana Krall’s voice, for example, that just ain’t right. I suppose GM was just trying to meet a price target and Bose bid low. Perhaps I could fix the problems with some custom audio shop work, but I think my solution is going to be an aftermarket exhaust system. Turn off the radio, put the top down and listen to the V8 music, haha.

4.5 seconds 0-60 is a bit slow at this price point? If being driven by electric motors how come they couldn't get the performance up to Panamera levels? A 2003 E55 does 0-60 in the same amount of time
Let’s unpack this. First, this is rear drive. With electrics, tires are a real compromise. Wide tires or sticky tires = more drag. Acceleration is limited by the tire. In addition, this is their regular model, not a tuned special, so a comparison to any AMG or whatever dialed up version of a standard car is an apples and oranges thing.
Acceleration is limited by peak inverter current. What is peak inverter current? Looks like this vehicle uses off the shelf igbt modules probably from semikron and not the discrete igbts as used in Tesla vehicles. Do you really believe a 16 year old amg " performance" car is a high bar?
Did you drive the car? No? Didn't think so. Regardless, let me attempt to explain, despite my crystal clear review. In every launch control start I did, the limiting factor was the tire, since the car was controlling wheelspin. This, of course, means the limiting factor is indeed traction. What's traction? That's the special connection between the tire and the road surface. A softer compound tire or a similar, but wider, tire would permit greater traction and, thus, quicker acceleration. This also means, of course, that the electric motors are delivering slightly more torque than the tires are capable of putting to the road surface. And what would drag radials have to do with anything? They don't stop or turn very well, which isn't the point of this car. By the way, if we're talking vehicle dynamics, what's your level of driving experience?

Ev range is 80 miles. What a joke!!
OK, Elon.
A 3 cylinder engine for 135.000$!?!? seriously??? the Corvette C8 has a V8 AND drives circels around this thing AND what did i miss? ah, right, it costs only half ... ok, to be fair, the C8 only has 2 seats and this 4, but .... anyway, bye bye Karma, maybe the next owner of the brand won't forget to put an engine in the car.
Um, did you miss the bit about it being driven by electric motors?
@@BrianMakse let me ask you: in which Universe make electric engines the kind of used pistonengine (or lack of it) more exciting? I don't mean the speed/acceleration, i mean the emotions you get when you think about the "heart" of the car or hear it's sound. The BMW i8 has the same problem. BMW forgot at least 3 cylinders (to be fair, it doesn't sound bad ... for a 3 cylinder, but not nearly as good as it could sound). I don't get why a lot of car companies don't get it. Porsche on the other hand knows how to combine hybrid and emotions, otherwise the 918 Spyder probably had a 3 cylinder "engine" as well, instead of the V8. And please don't tell me that a V8 would have been too expensive for the Karma, because we both know that's not true. And it can't be fuel prices, because someone who pays 135k for a car couldn't care less. Maybe you argue that the car is made for people that are numb inside and/or deaf and don't care about emotions. Ok, point taken.
But with that i don't want to say that your work wasn't done well, because ot wss. You get a thumb up, not the car.
And now i wait for the first guy who alleges i can't afford this car which must be the real reason i'm complaining. 😄
I think you're having your own conversation. Watch the video again. Perhaps click the link to the story.

@@skynetsworld As somebody who DESPISES loud cars I absolutely LOVE the peaceful quietness of the Revero. It feels like you're on a cloud peacefully floating along with all of your thoughts to yourself.
