Necroby Nerton not too much, but it can make things look closer than they appear. Especially when interacting with things near you. And plus this was around 2015, and we were in the 82nd so we had some older model nods compared to what special operations get to use

The heat in a Humvee's no joke. In Iraq on a supply run from Baghdad, I heard a loud BANG right beside me. My vehicle crew and I were frantically search around for the source. It was a Sprite can that had exploded right beside me due to the heat.

I love how whenever the A-10 is involved every frontline serviceman is like "Yeah, those are awesome".
I was actually watching some helmet cam footage of a firefight recently. The enemy nearly had them pinned down, so they called in for air support and a couple of A-10's responded and as they were doing their strafing runs, you could hear a woman in the background say "Fuck, I love those things!"

I was a crew chief on KC135's in the Air Force and I loved the A-10. But people that worked on it said it was a mechanical nightmare. I never cared, because it kills the assholes lol

Yep. 90% of the issues they had were with what the players acting the missions were doing.

They were supposed to evaluate how realistic the game was, but they ended up bashing the game for how people were playing it. Probably didn't even realize they were watching an online match and not some scripted singleplayer mission.

Actually no, they are using a trick to minimize stamina loss while going uphill. The way they are moving sideways as you see, that's how their stamina isn't draining even faster.
The problem with being realistic in arma is how clunky movement is. Trying to clear a building is a painful experience. It sounds easy when you know you can move your head separate from your gun but once you try it....
While getting stuck on the door or glitching thew the stairs.

I've killed myself once by executing a partisan with a Desert Eagel (the CUP one) inside a building.
I didn't expect the house to crumble after a pistol shot.
Yeah, the core Arma game is based on open space, the building game play is added to that and limited in many ways. Just be happy your weapons clip through the walls and you can manoeuvre as easily with full length rifle with suppressor as with a smg.. :-)
Yeah, for Arma 3 room clearing you can't really use speed or violence of action if you're against AI... they can't be scared or shocked or surprised and they will insta-kill you if you come around the corner quickly. Surprise will only help you minimally, so being slow and extremely thorough is obligatory.
Against human players that's differen though.
ARMA 3 is pretty clunky, but ARMA 2 was absolutely atrocious. AI will fuck you up in CQC every single time. Movement is way better in 3, but still derpy as all hell at times.

@@chancevance1641 Would love to see them reacting to some sniper & spotter shot with Wind, Temperature, Barometric pressure, Distance, Caliber check to zero your scope right and one tap a target at 1000+ meter, thats what we do with my mate on some Assassination mission on Antistasi scenario, thats 5minutes of spotting and mathematics and then 3 seconds of action, but man, that feeling when you did everything right and as planned... can't get that shit in other games

@@1radkill420 arma 3 has a very advanced ballistics system form the get go, but ace3 (the mod) adds some more parameters to make it even harder. you could just set something up in the editor, but what this guy is talking about is antistasi, a revolution simulator, and he probably got a task to kill an hvt or something.
I'm always so impressed with the amount of military knowledge Cameron has. I mean this man is an encyclopedia of military knowledge. He's knows everything from what gear your take on what mission to naming every single mission pulled off by the U.S. military and their codenames.
Idk how it is in the Rangers, despite having Ranger friends, but a lot of these Special Operations units expect you to know a fair amount of military history especially when it comes to your regiment/unit. Not only does it show respect for your regiment/unit, but it also is a source for valuable lessons learned.

Your comment is hyperbole and is kind of insulting because you ignored and belittled the point I was making. In certain SOF units, soldiers are quizzed and drilled on individual KIAs and associated incidents as a matter of pride, indoctrination / espri de corps, and training. That 100% does not happen in “all units” or “all infantry”, or even “all infantry who have seen combat”. Go ask supply and logistics guys about individual soldiers 45 years ago and see what they come up with. Go ask the enlisted folk who just want to do their time and leave how much pride they have. Heck, most of them take pride in what bad behavior they can hide from the Joint Services rather than what they can do for them. SMH this is just unreal.
Any unit worth a damn knows their history. Outside of that, the Infantry has a better handle on history than most units. In either case stop getting so offended, especially when this guy said NOTHING actually offensive

Those guys here were going to freak out in realism. If it weren't for the pandemic, they wanted the Marines and Spec Ops, maybe experts play.
2:32 there actually is a stamina system in the game. While theyre climbing that hill, theyre losing stamina and when their stamnia reaches 0, they start to move slower. I think it only applies to sprinting tho. Oh, and the amount of stamina you have depends on the amount of weight you have on your body/pack, so if you are nearly full on weight will rocket launchers and rockets and ammo and tourniquets and blood bags (don't ask me why) you will have a really low amount of stamina.
it applies to running and shooting. you can't aim for shit when your character is exhausted.
it also applies for uphill walking. sometimes i hate that system
i think they had it disabled anyway
@@AarneHeljakka It's still there. Some servers disable it. But sometimes the system is really bs. You lightly jog for 5-10 meters to get to suitable cover and suddenly your aim is all over the place. If the server hasn't turned it down, it's a HUGE pain in the ass to play any sort of long range role.

We need a new arma game we’re it’s like battlefield in terms of graphics explosions and destruction and is realistic that would be the perfect shooter in my opinion
Squad is exactly like that. Its basically realistic in terms of combat, graphics, and explosions while also staying in the same field as being a milsim. Its also much simpler than arma.

I would love a cross between "Mudrunner"/"Snowrunner" (Drive Trucks through mud) and "ARMA". That would be fun.
ArmA with JSRS and Blastcore already does a great job though
they probably have the "no stamina" mod the uphill with gear walk in vanilla arma 3 is murder. you will sap 90% of your stam suddenly touching a small incline.
And that's just walking. Not even sprinting. With no packs on you and only about 5 mags of ammo for your rifle. There's a reason most units run modified stamina.
Most likely, Stamina just slows down gameplay alot. Half time time your gonna be waiting your your Gunner and Assistant gunner or your AT guy because of the weight of their gear.

That was awesome to have real pro give their perspective on that game. It's important to point out that this game gives a lot of freedom to players and server owners how the game will be played. Many of the small errors or critique was orientated more toward players more than the game itself. For the mounting climbing part the server owner in the footage you watched had deactivated the stamina feature (default feature in Arma). In their defense stamina can be quite annoying and make the game slightly boring at times. But if you wanted a fully realistic feel you definitely want to keep the stamina on.
ARMA, for all its jank, gets the most enjoyable with the really out-there modkits, be it Starship Troopers, Halo marines/ODSTs/SPARTANS, or even 40k conversions

I actually would suggest is them playing by them self and not hitting a single crap lol... It seems they rate more what players do every time than actually seeing what does the game simulation type fully offers... Because it's a game and people can play the way they want so they can even make a sim to look like crap...
Yes in the game their is no visible effort seen going up hill. However, (in the base game at least) going up hill makes it so you burn through your stamina way faster.
actually you walk when going up hill, they where probably using the no stamina mod mixed with a mod that stops slopes from slowing you down

Nothing wrong with Drewski or his content, it's just not real milsim like what ShackTac or TAW does. Drewski games are always modded for convenience/contents sake and not for full realism. I would call it Milsim Lite.
The other thing is Drewski never uses anything advanced. No equipment, no mods, not even any of the stances or much freelook (if any) that I saw. These are all things the gents would have really liked to see I'm sure.

@@rovat6285 Some people don't like to play the exact way Mr. Rimmy does, but Rimmy has gone around trying to convert people and attacking them on Reddit and other platforms because they don't play the game the way he does. That's why a lot of people don't like him, especially the people that blindly follow him like sheep after watching his videos.

I play arma 3 and fatigue is very real. Every hill climb and movement prevents combat effectiveness. Most noticably through the aiming mechanic.
Am i the only one who gets soo hyped just by seeing gamology's notification on my screen.....keep up the great videos guys, loving these guys too they seem to know what they are doing,good work guys.

2:30 actually it’s quite the contrary, climbing up hills in arma drains your stamina very quickly as opposed to flat ground causing your character to be out of breath
But people love modding it out. Pretty much all of these videos where modded.
@@kaz998 Yeah, Base arma 3 uses a lot of things that were in prototype stages when it came out, cause it takes place in like, the 2030s, so you have to mod in alot of the modern stuff
If you've had to go up hill in full kit for real , it's pretty tiring definitely gets the heart rate going 😅

@@Linus89 That is correct, I don't remember exact numbers, but I think it's like 45000kn thrust for the GAU8 and 41 for each of the A10 engines, so it's still breaking. Short bursts though, so it would not fall from the skies...
