Thanks for the wonderful videos of Naivasha. Growing up I used to spend a lot of time there. Fishing is also very good and a great lake to go swimming in, even learned how to windsurf there. One of the few fresh water lakes with no bilharzia in it. Couple of fun facts about Naivasha, is one of the only fresh water lakes in the world that does not have a river running out of it. Usually lakes that do not have a river flowing out, get very alkaline like Magadi or Bogoria. The theory was that the water flows out the bottom and this water is what then powers the fumaroles that come out at Hell's Gate and inside Mount Longonot. Also the part of the lake that is on inside of the crescent side of Crescent Island is actually an extinct volcanic crater. It is much deeper than the rest of the lake and also much colder to swim in. Also, wonderful footage of the Fishing Eagles, did you know that they are identical to the American Bald Eagle, but slightly larger? On one of your excursions you should go hiking around the crater rim of Longonot. Again thanks for the great videos
Thank you Dave and Tracey for consistent efforts of showing the beauty of my country to the world. For a long long time we have suffered from people who come to Kenya with aim of showing how poor we are - which is not true at all.
Surely these adventures will strengthen your marriage. I wish i could do this with the love of my life. It would be epic and you'll create memories that will stay with you for the rest of your lives.
I grew up in Naivasha, my dad worked in one of the large flower farms but we never bothered to visit that island. Thanks guys for allowing us to visit the island through your 👀
Another awesome video guys. Brings back memories of our trip in 2008 and we had high tea outside on the lawn at Elsamere the Adamsons retirement home. It was amazing and the fish eagles beautiful. The Adamsons did the born free film with Elsa the Lion. Thankyou so much for the memories love it. Keep up the fantastic work. You have the best channel on you tube and deserve all the success it brings in the future.
Guys you are our Tourist Ambassador. I would like to petition the department of immigration to extend your stay in Kenya or ven give you a permanent resident. You are more patriotic than some of us!!!
Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake. I went to school around there. We used to catch fish and roast them. Great memories. Thanks guys and keep enjoying yourselves.
Thank you guys for this amazing clip, I actually grew up in bush island, just the before you get to crescent island, my mum used to work for Jack couffer, he was a film director and a photographer. I would Love to request a favour from you, in early 90s there was film that was shot in crescent island, my mum and other long gone folks featured in it including me but I was soo young and I can vividly remember what was going on. My request is if you can try to find out which movie was that and you can share it with me, I don’t have any visual memories of my mum and if I can see her through that movie I will appreciate it soo much, she passed on while I was still a very young boy.
Naivasha town is my home place, imagine how i had to watch till the end,i have been on the lake sides several times though not at this Island, will surely visit when i go home, hope you enjoyed samaki "fish" and ugali..
I love Sopa Lodges. The L. Naivasha and L. Nakuru are my favourites. Great views, great rooms and great staff and though it's been a while since I have been back, their rates then were very affordable. Great to see that you visited them.
@@DaveMani Yes they are and it seems like their rates have remained pretty much the same, based on what you mentioned at the end of the video. We paid Ksh.18k for two full board back in 2014 December. I didn't take a lot of videos then but I took a couple of amateur photos and will try putting it together as a slideshow video for both Naivasha and Nakuru. I agree their marketing team needs to improve a lot. Thanks for your continued effort to explore and showcase our great country.
Nice to see you guys made a trip to Naivasha. We were there with my family in December and we really had a good time. We woke up to see the hippos they were right outside the lodge but we were peeping from our rooms. Naivasha is beautiful, i really enjoyed being around nature. I would go back there again and again. Enjoy❤
Watching from south Africa and yes I am out of words!so beautiful and i enjoyed the video and watched it twice just for fun. How i wish you could have shown us the drive to the place. Thanks so much and keep the good work going.
Really REALLY Love your content! More and more destinations on my to visit list. Hopefully my 2 week old daughter (quarantine was great!) will get to experience this soon! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Dave & Tracy... you guys need to climb Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro.. it will be a different but fun experience for you both. I have done both mountains and I think you will love the experience too.
Wow! You guys really had fun with boat rides! I used to work at L. Naivasha Country Club and I enjoyed boat rides, with lots of animals coming near the hotel especially hippos but they super dangerous!
Thanks a lot for showing us this video! My family is planning for a big wedding but can't decide which place to hold it. There is the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort, Enashipai and Sawela to choose from....

Iam the outdoor person. // The rift valley is pretty fun especially now its dry, extending all the way from Lake Naivasha, Lake Elementaita, Lake Nakuru, Lake Baringo, Lake Bogoria..so much for you to enjoy.. // I got to learn about crescent island being the movie Shooting site for OUT OF AFRICA.i felt you should have featured more about the Island..coz the movie was HUGE globally ..almost like TITANIC.

Actually the bald eagle is on average a little bigger than the fish eagle but smaller than Africa’s largest eagle the martial.
We Kenyans are learning of somethings in our own country that we didn't know of!

They have resources that many Kenyans don't. I applaud how they promote Kenya. Kenyans are very very patriotic. Wewe waweru wacha siasa.
They are wonderful. They do alot of sacrifices to show their brothers and sisters out there to know the beauty truth about Kenya they don't see on TV.
