    I own a 2022 xmr 850 and really like it. The stock cryptids are not true 30s. I bought 30 inch carnivores for trail riding mounted on the factory rims. I installed quad logic foot boards to gain clearance for the 30 inch carnivores. There is around 1.5 inch difference in the tires. Other than that it’s an amazing machine and enjoyable to ride.

    Just bought one last month and I’m finally taking it Pittsburg NH this weekend. I love it so far tho. I went with the 850 for the wheelbase.

    When I got my 21 Outy I took the Cryptids off as soon as I could, went with 31 Motohavok and I much prefer them in the mud. Threw the Cryptids on my Honda Rubicon and they perform great on that machine. As mentioned the Cryptids measure closer to 28”.

    Dual it up! Go for floatation because you don't want to cut down and through the skeg....

    your comments on the snorkels, for mud riders who do deep water being over the seats pretty normal, the can am snorkels are know to be just to low, risers are one of the very first things everyone does with an XMR after replacing the tires with something more aggressive that works better. to be fair to can am the HL also is to low and every one puts risers on right away.

    • @LITMM
      @LITMM 3 месяца назад

      Agreed the snorkels can always be higher but my comment was based on the stock setup I wouldn’t go to far past the seat, specially where we ride there is a lot of rocks and roots under the water that are known to knock the bike sideways and if it drops to the right or left it can happen quick and if it does you hope it’s on the clutch side!

    I think they could make the snorkels a little bit higher. But, overall an excellent wheeler for anyone!

    Amazon has synth cable for $30 cad. Been using them for years, the $100+ ones are no better quality.

      I’ve used the Amazon syrhs” too and have had ok results. If you are snow / winter riding and it’s wet and freezing….. that’s the only time I have had issues. A cordless Milwaukee heat gun was my friend a few times ;)
      They can freeze and get pretty stuck, the only downfall I have personally experienced.

      @@weslawrence5055 I've had frozen issues with steel cables too, as well I've had a frozen steel cable and another time where the steel locked itself to itself. I always try to wind it in nice and neat, but 💩 happens I suppose lol
      For the synth, if I go through water in the winter, when I get back I'll unwind it and hang across the garage to let it dry out.

    Cryptide tires?

  • @EC_ATV_Outdoors
    @EC_ATV_Outdoors 3 месяца назад +1

    Whoa, don't be saying those are 30's because that's what the sidewall says.
    The Can-am Cryptids are 2" smaller than if you bought the same tires from ITP.
    I still don't get why this deceptive advertising is even legal.

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  3 месяца назад +2

      We are saying the spec, but yeah, maybe we should get out the measuring tape and confirm.

    • @EC_ATV_Outdoors
      @EC_ATV_Outdoors 3 месяца назад +1

      @@dirttraxtv if they measure true, I'd be shocked that they finally matched the size up to actual.
      And bad on ITP too for doing it for them all these years.
      It blew my mind when I found out. A friend pulled up with his brand new 2022 850 xmr next to my 850 HL that comes with outlaw 2's that measure true. His cryptids were near 2" smaller.
