- Hi, here we have 3 different broken toys, from different decades, purchased faulty from eBay. Let's see what the faults are, and if they are fixable.

Remember that this is just for entertainment and I am not an expert in these repairs. The processes in the video may not be the best way, the correct way or the safest way to fix these things. I do love fault finding and trying to fix broken things, so I hope that comes across in this 'Trying to FIX' series. Many thanks, Vince.

👍
I would like to fix that hole with some epoxy resin and fiberglass stuff that I work with very often. But the problem is that I am in Hungary and I can't travel because of the massive virus problems.
And inside the motor I don't spray WD40. Instead, I spray Weldtite TF2 teflon spray that I buy at our bicycle shop.

I'm impressed with how well Dougal turned out given the state he was in at the beginning!
Thanks, and I'm impressed with Jabba the Muppet, it looks great. Looking forward to going through your previous vids 👍👍👍
Dougal!!
*my mom hated that movie when I was a kid*
Late night Vince. Between Dougal’s flashing yellow eyes, the creepy jukepet music and your outro, I’m terrified to go to sleep. Definitely putting both feet inside the covers tonight.
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
Dougal just nombing on Coco Pops while jamming with juke box tunes
That Jukepet is definitely going to give me nightmares. And the Dougal was all cute and cuddly until you made him satanic at the end. All you need to do now is make the Coco Pop badge play music from The Exorcist, and you're on to a hat-trick! Apart from that, awesome job, as always! 😉
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think the Coco Pops monkey had a little 666 on his head!!!
Imagine if you were a kid in the 60's and that toy came at you in the dark!
That is probably why it looked like it did.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
That Dougal turned out great, love you put so much effort into making him presentable again. Fantastic.
I'm amazed there is no circuit board given the amount Dougal does, really good!!
In the French version, Dougal is called Pollux and has a strong British accent. Has he got a French accent in the British version? 😂
The coin bank really sounds like it comes directly from a horror movie with crazy puppets or demons 🤣
Exactly what I thought 😂
*inserts monkey bomb from call of duty zombies here*
Both the Jukepet and the dog gave me some creepy vibes... The dog kept wanting to leave the house and the jukebox sounds like something from a horror movie.
The jukebox song at the end. I think is " Old Suzanna", don't you cry for me.
I come from Alabama, with a bango on my knee.
I could be wrong. Like the vidy, stay safe and happy !!
You know, ive been havin a shit day and I found your videos to be super calming
Ive watched all the toy repairs bc theyre my favorite.
And now i look and youve just uploaded a new one.
You couldn't have released this at a better time and thank you so much for making these.
Thank you, I'm glad they help 👍
Hahaha great video, those old toys are just such clever mixes of mechanics and simple electronics. Love it.
Cheers Etienne 👍
I remember getting a Dougal birthday cake in about 1980ish, havent seen Dougal since then, Thanks for the memories
Hehe, I got a Dougal cake around that era too, wonder if it was in a magazine or TV cooking show or something. I loved it.
Ah the music on the juke box at the end was the yellow rose of texas not scary lol
OMG I said the same thing on the Juke Box..."Sounds like something that be in a horror film!"...Hahaha!!
Should of played the Juke creepiest record with the dogs eyes at the end hehehe
i enjoyed watching you repairing cursed items from the past
I think the Yellow colour paint you used on Dougal worked so well Vince, I honestly wouldn’t tell, great job buddy 👍🏻
The ending made me crack up so much I almost spilled my tea!! Nice one Vince.
Haha, cheers Jon 👍
My sister had a puppet with such little records mid 90s. Cant remember if it really worked so. I think she had the wrong puppet. The different brands had different Systems and different record sizes I think.
That was great Vince I love watching these old toy repairs. Thank you.
"Useless eBay Junk"? Poor LiL' doggy Here's hoping you can de-useless him. Now back to the show!

You need to invest in some electrical cleaner/lube spray and perhaps some inox/lanox. WD40 is not a great lube for that motor. Sorry, not turning off Ad-blocker. YT would be a complete nightmare with ads.
Hi. I`m from Japan. I had Jukepet when I was kid and loved it. 3 Years ago I found it on ebay and now I have 4 of them. I needed to fix them as you did on this video. But I`ve never open motor. That was something new information. Thank you.
Vince! Don't sell yourself short! The Dougal fix was brilliant. Using body filler and painting it almost the exact color really looked better than I thought it could be. I say go back and paint a little more around the dog to make it even more realistic.
Cheers Michael 👍

I have a 'Laughing Bag' toy, a bag with a clown's face on it, and when you press a button it laughs for a few seconds. In the bag is a little mini record-player, almost identical inside to your Jukebox toy, except there is only one record (of the laughing) which is permanently glued in. The mechanism is SO similar that I'm sure it was made by the same company as your toy.
Vince manages to fix tiny jukebox toy and im just here having PTSD flashbacks of Everywhere At The End Of Time by The Caretaker.
that song the Jukepet was playing in the video was called Oh Susanna Vince
I agree, totally is Oh Susanna.. True southerner here, and instantly recognized it.
Dougal saved, on a side not The magic roundabout was not actually English it was French made. We had a wacky English narrator who done all the voices..Zebedee being my favourite and the stoned Rabbit yer man
By heck Vince what a transformation on dougel!zebedee would be bouncing with appreciation!
I learned about Doogal on The Daily Show way back in 2006. Chevy Chase played a racist train. Well, it was just a train, but then he got the role.
Here before any dislikes! 😀
the Dougal toy was in pretty good shape for it been 53 years old. The Dougal character and magic round about first aired in the October 1965 the year I was born
Body filler and paint are perfectly fine for children to handle once is it is fully cured, it none worst than them eating rocks or dirt off the ground. People nowadays go nuts over food safe and children safe so-called products, Which is a millennial parenting fab, things that were made in my fathers time and in my generation time are fine, we are smart enough to know that most products once fully cure are mostly safe, Hell my dad is in the late '80s and he is still healthier than most kids these days, and that should tell you something
Dougal just wants to go out
You could probably slow the record down a bit. It old Susanna but it sounds pretty good. Great video.
33:40 😅🔩
the jukebox reminded me of 'Tales Of The Unexpected' Theme song
In America Kelloggs coco puffs slogan is 'I'm coo coo for more coco puffs' with a coo coo bird for a mascot.
I would love it if you or 1 of your fans(including me) could find ANYTHING associated with The Thunderbirds/Captain Scarlet/ Fireball XL5/Joe 90 or any of the 60’s “puppet” animation shows of my youth and fix’em up. That would be a hoot! A Subscriber from Montreal Canada 🇨🇦. Ha!, it’s a left-handed Dog. And in Canada, we had “Cocoa Puffs”, which became “Count Chocula”, with a Vampire Avatar.
Cocoa Puffs (round balls, like Kix or their other cereals) and Count Chocula (shaped and probably should of had 'marshmallows') are both General Mills (Can. Nesquik/Nestlé); Cocoa Pops are Cocoa Krispies, the chocolate Rice Krispies. Though, I think Canada has special less chocolate version.
I don't use ad blocker I have YT premium.
@My Mate VINCE you shouldn't use WD40 on Motors, it might work temporarily but harm more than it helps. There is a special Fat for Motors which fixes it permanently. I used WD40 on my Laptop Fan before and it failed again after a while. I cleaned the Fan and the damage caused by WD40 and used special Motor Fat which fixed it and still works today.
Cheers Michael 👍
Juke Pet is actually from Newcastle. ;)
Haha 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Wey aye, man Kip!
more spooky toys. I could use some fun nightmares.
Good vid
The doggie moves along the grooves in the floor with his thin wheels...thats why he reverses without hitting an obstacle...good job on the repair ! ...i should have watched to the end...
nice job, that dog could use a rubber cushion on the nose so it won't crack again
I know first tune but cant remember name popcorn seems to come to mind cauld be wrong
Vince try adding baking soda to super glue to make an instant dry cement. Just use superglue like normal then while holding the parts together sprinkle some baking soda over it to have it dry an harden instantly. You can also slowly build up missing parts/ holes. Best part is its sand able after about 1 minute. I have used this on serval plastics an it always works. Even on broken car dash panel clips.
Cheers Chris 👍
LOL @ 00:34...you put coins in to make it shut up!! :-D
They made a dougal movie in the early 2000s and I saw it in theatres 😊
Good video the items look like something out of a horror movie
Magic roundabout loved dillon the hippy rabbit. That jukebox sounds like a really bad ice cream van tune
It did, a run down depilated ice cream van 😂🤣🤣
Oh Susanna is the song on the Jukebox toy at the end of the video, not sure what the other could have been maybe ghostbusters or something.
I think the first song might be 'Wheels'.
Holy smokes, just seeing the inside of that Marx toy brought back memories of all the times I got paddled for taking my toys apart back in the early 60s. Heavens, how I loved disassembly!
That Dougal is creepy.....
That Dougal bodywork was perfect, I saw cars with more visible repairs before.
🤣🤣🤣 Hahaha, thank you 👍
Coin operated nightmare fuel. The variety on this channel is seriously impressive
so Dougal was the proto type for the roomba
same disks from actionman radio work init
It's basically a yellow Roomba!
Dougle is my favourite 🤩
Cheers Dorian 👍
Dougal Fix was epic!!!!
I'm not saying that the Juke Pet is cursed..
But the Juke Pet is cursed.
Try something called milliput it would be better for plastic repair
Wow, I know that stuff. I bought some from my local model shop when I was a kid. Mixed 2 parts, like a sausage shaped plasticine. I can even remember the smell!!!
Dougal :) i though you said " Let;s fix Google " :-)
I funnily enough watched the Magic Roundabout film the other day for the first time in years! Great video vince! 👍🏻 #MyMateVince
8:07 Lights Working?
coco pops even exist in sweden
I want a Dougal toy!!!
Dougal lives to scamper again. tasteful repair well done
That Jukepet sounds like the old ice cream van chimes when I was a kid
Ha, ha, ha, ha Dougal...'The toy that keeps on giving'. I was laughing for ages at that for some strange reason.
Even if sometimes we shout at you 😸 ... Everything you touch is golden. Always amazed. Just love this channel.
🤣🤣 Hahahaha, cheers Martin 👍
Nice this good video
I remember the Magic Roundabout, I used to watch it when I was little said Danny. There is a wii game of the magic roundabout and its worth a fair bit more than I anticipated so keep your eyes peeled for that one.
All dogs love the bin
Quick Tip: Next time you fill with body filler, put tape on the outside to cover the hole and fill from the inside. Save you loads of time and gives a better finish.
3 out of 3 fixed, well done Vince.
I can never think of The Magic Roundabout without remembering the Jasper Carrott sketch of it :D
I like my mate vince
I will pay you £10.00
Dougal looks great, that's a really good repair Vince. I love his movement too, toys that do this these days have microcontrollers and all the extra gubbins. This shows how simple good engineering can be.
Boing went Zebedee
Ahhh first to view
I love the ending
Hi bud l remember magic roundabout the bunny always made me laugh thanks for the memorises, l saw something on alliexpress it was a jumper wire pen l saw that and thought of you
Sounded like 'The Muscle Man' (= Wheels by Billy Vaughn 1961) to me.
And the second = 'Oh Susannna' by Stephen Foster 1848.
Haha great stuff 😂 Dougal is both adorable and menacing at the same time, relentless in his pursuit of your soul!! Tip for the paint, mix a touch of white into the yellow paint to lighten the colour, play around till you got a good colour match 👍
Can You Do a Video Of You Just Taking The Batteries In And Out Of Dugal Beacuse I Like The Sound Of The Battery Being Put in And Out
InTeReStiNg Jukebox. Although the sounds emanating from it sounds like a convergence of all my nightmares since birth But at the end when it was playing, I started tapping my foot to the righteous new wave beat
✌😃 GENIUS
Vince I'm sure you farted @22:18 🤣
🤣🤣
Lol! That ending really got me and made me LOL really hard! Very effective and it got me to immediately turn off my adblock as intended. Um, nah, it didn't actually, but good try anyhow. Cheers.
i have a small lcd game that just didnt want to work right until i tore it down entirely and went to town cleaning it, so yeah, those cheap preinstalled button cells can really leave a trace
edit: ive got the fisherprice music box turntable that works off the same idea as that bank and its shocking how loud they managed to make them and how loud they continue to be even as the plastic ages and becomes brittle, to clean the cone for the music box it needs to be pulled out of a glued position and it makes its age and fragility known while doing so, but yeah speed control on some of the older toys was just a bit lax/nonexistent so they sounded strange
3:51, creepy ice cream van...
22:03
Hi Vince
When i was a kid in the 60s i had a toy train ( the American western type) that worked the same way as Dougal.
As i understand it when the toy hits something, the two wheels underneath work like a differential on a car, and when resistance is met drive swops over from one wheel to the other, and as the wheels can spin on an axis the toy takes off in a different, random direction including reverse.
My train had flashing lights in the front and cab and was probably made by the same company.
Ohh the memories!...i still remember me and my dad (long since passed) playing with that train on the rug on Christmas morning.
Cheers!
Chris
Thanks Chris 👍
@@Mymatevince Welcome!
@@cass276wait how old are you now
Hi I’m trying to find someone who can fix, repair and restore the Kenner “Turbo Tower of Power Toy Motorcycles”🏍 I purchased on eBay these toys are from the 1970’s. If you know of anyone that can help me please let me know through the comments section. Thanks
I'd use some two component epoxy and brush the first dog toy from the inside to reinforce old brittle plastic.
I love these old toys and the simplicity of this stuff!
I agree, it is nice to be able to understand the workings without looking at 10 chips! 👍
To answer your question we have Coco Puffs in the U.S. I think there used to be a Coco Pops here too, but now we got one just called Pops that isn't chocolate. Between that jukepet and tat Doogal I shall have nightmares of zombie dog, and getting chased by Jigsaw from the Saw moves. lol
