Man, that Golden Axe guessing was amazing. Lol. I don't even like that game but I got it immediately thanks to a remix of it in Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed.
As a Sega fan, I got it immediately.
Hearing that music unlocked so many childhood memories of me and my brother playing co-op on our Genesis.
I knew it was a Genesis game but I thought it was a Street Fighter game. It couldn't be CV Bloodlines tho, that has a very distinctive sound (it's also one of my fav CV OSTs).

I recognized that the song was from Kingdom Hearts I & THE NAME of the song within 2 seconds & proceeded to pull my hair out as neither of them had any clue what it was. "Why would anyone know that? Why would you know that?" I feel attacked lol

That was the most intense moment, close to Golden Axe. But hey Kingdom Hearts may not be everyone's cup of tea. But the soundtrack throughout the series is amazing
Seeing them instantly get all these obscure games I've never heard of and then having them both completely stumped by Kingdom Hearts is absolutely wild

Same here! I’ve never been able to actually play it, but I discovered the game due to browsing either RUclips or TVtropes (I don’t remember which one it was, I searched for it on the other after discovering it on one site). After not expecting to recognize the track it was so wild to hear that, have the memories of reading and watching videos about the game come back, and recognize the music to be able to name the game within seconds.
I am so sad that the first song they didn't know WAS FREAKING ORI. Ori's soundtracks are literally top 10 all time video game soundtracks.
Your not wrong but we’ll I new the track it felt like a lot of other indie games to me as I have not played more than one or listen to the sound track more than like 3 times. I got it after two guess as it sounded like deaths door or Kena bridge of spirits to me, as well similar sound but I played them both last year so I knew it was from that year so and I was singing the beat back I just forgot the game. To me well it is a masterpiece of an ost it does sound similar especially this tone to others

I just want to point out that Rhythm Thief being called a 'newer 3DS game' had me doubting myself because that game is ten years old!
Absolutely loved how wacky certain moments of this video were, like James dividing 8 by 2 and getting 2 at 13:48, and Jon's defeated tone at 33:09

rhythm thief was described as a recent 3ds game … it came out in 2012. 10th anniversary coming up this summer!

Glad to see this again! I loved this series! Something else I always thought was interesting when you first did these was how so few people could guess the Halo music. I feel like despite how iconic the series is, it gets very little coverage on youtube from gaming channels who I guess haven't played it? Which is a shame, so much good art design, worldbuilding, etc; so it's always a treat to see Jon talk about it (I wouldn't mind some full videos about the series!). I think ODST's music in particular could be really fun in these What's That Track episodes.
