    You have my answer! I'm a professional artist who was considering pouring concrete for a project, but that would lead to challenges! Which are tricky to solve. I know there are similar videos to yours, but the white look is what got me. I definitely will use DIY concrete.

    Great job!!! By chance was there any consideration using concrete backer board instead of sheetrock? Just being curious

    • @WelcometotheWoodsBlog
      @WelcometotheWoodsBlog  3 года назад +1

      Yes, so this product was made to be applied to sheetrock and it's not nearly as heavy as real concrete would be so the concrete backer board wasn't necessary. It also saved on cost to hang regular sheetrock than concrete backer board. If I planned to tile it in the future or put on bricks or stone then I would need the heavier duty stuff.

    Hello!! Loved the video and how it turned out. I have a question, I see they offer on the website different colors/finish. The options I see are:
    Gray on Gray - Gray Finish Coat on top of Gray Base Coat
    White on White - White Finish Coat on top of White Base Coat
    White on Gray - White Finish Coat on top of Gray Base Coat
    Which one did you use?

    Hi Melissa, it’s Lee and Olivia again! We’re wondering if you had plans for some projects for a daddy / daughter sort of thing? Or stuff kids can get into? We watch your stuff together and just love you, (we built a playhouse together) It might not be your thing but we wondered if it was something you might do in the future? Loved the outtakes from your last upload by the way!!

    • @WelcometotheWoodsBlog
      @WelcometotheWoodsBlog  3 года назад

      I've done a few craft videos including my kids, but never the power tool stuff. My son seems to be interested in learning, so you might've seen clips of me allowing him to drill kreg jig holes or shoot my brad nailer in my tutorials. To be honest, I don't plan to include the kids more than that for a myriad of reasons, but I will continue to look for interesting outtakes I can include in my future videos while editing. I think it's great to see the back story and real life behind a project sometimes.

    • @WelcometotheWoodsBlog

    • @WelcometotheWoodsBlog

      Correct, the instructions said there was no need to prime. I did wipe down the wall with a damp rag first

    • @H21sidewinder
      @H21sidewinder 11 месяцев назад

      @@WelcometotheWoodsBlogthank you for confirming. I opted for the same waterproofing membrane (instead of using Redguard) because of your video. It’s more expensive but I didn’t want to chance it for proper adhesion since I will be applying Microtek on my bathroom ceiling as well. BTW your video is the best one I’ve seen for this application. It’s realistic and you made the application look within reach for DIYers so well done. Now just waiting for my order to show up to get started!

    • @WelcometotheWoodsBlog
      @WelcometotheWoodsBlog  3 года назад

      Hey David! Fireplace still looks like new (it's only been 7 months though) and I would say the refilling isn't a nuisance for us unless the kids have been using the fireplace without our permission. ;) It runs for about 4-5 hours with the tanks full so oftentimes we enjoy it 2 or 3 times while playing games or visiting and then fill it.
