Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This RUclips channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

Already did😉
Thank you again for another truly entertaining video. Now the question is. Is it Rick the putter, or Rick's putter? So many, so close to the hole. Maybe it's time for your fans to see you try out an Axis 1 putter or get a fully customized Edel? I'm sure your fans would love to watch those videos. Keep up the great work. Cheers!
I think that motorcaddy luck has worn out feel free to send it my way 😘
Rick playing tough tough tracts from the tips shooting a 78 with a balky putter way way better than shooting 75 on a easy tract.
More like RickShielsGolfWeekly
As a collegiate golfer I can attest that he is making it much harder on himself by playing back at the tips and playing hard courses... in the wind... on video... for all of the golf community to see. This is not easy, much respect Rick. You got this!!
Rick: I’m trying to break 75 on a Ryder Cup course.
Me: I’m trying to break 90 on my local course.
🤣😂
From the white tees.
I’m trying to break 90 on Nintendo. LOL
me,im trying to break 75 for 9 holes !
I'm trying to break 110 😂
You can't be disappointed with being just 7 shots behind a tour pro. You got to start going easier on yourself psychologically. You'll play better in the end. Great video!
Europro isn't a great standard really. There's a few very good players on it but there's a hell of a lot of trust fund pipe dreamers too.
First 7 holes: “Rick needs to hit more greens!”
Next 7 holes: *Rick hits more greens and 3 putts.* 😅
I love how he is pushing himself every day to break 75, but he’s not doing it on easy courses and that makes it so much harder. Much respect ✊
yeah Rick is really good, some of these other youtube golfers are tearing up easy courses, but would fall apart on a course like this.
@@AjaxNixon i think some of the better ones like gm golf(micah/garrett), zac Radford and a few others i can't recall would shot near or under par.
@@brianb555 On a given day, I could see Micah going low just about anywhere, lol. No course is too long for him to score well on.
Rick in how to play better golf video: “Stay Positive.”
Rick now: “You absolute idiot.”
"What am I doing bad?"
"Your long game is good."
The best interaction I've heard in awhile. Haha.
Birdie on 18 after a frustrating round is so typical of golf, always hooks you right back in to go again
I do that every round I play. I suck all day and then reach the 18th and usually have my best shots
Yessss. Best part of the week is this series☀️🎉
Enjoy mate
This is your best series yet. I'll tell you why, it's because we are on a journey with you and we can see ourselves inside you and your aspirations. Obviously we can't all grow beards like yours. Eitherway, Thanks Rick.
Videos like this remind me that this game is hard. Makes me feel better about my game. Always working
“See ourselves inside you”hol up.that’s what she said
@@will819 yeah I don't quite see myself inside Rick. That's a little weird
Anyone else absolutely rooting for Rick in everyone of these videos 😂
Always. I love watching Rick. Would be awesome to get lessons from him
Rick from 328 yards on the par 5: “I think I’m gonna lay up.” As if that was a question 😂😂😂
9
He sure can get that far with a true bomb and wind and downhill and a good bounce .. I know he can get that far if everything is right
I didn't realize it was of the fairway and an iron in his hand tho lol. Now it's funny
Layups are for basketball 😜
Why didn't he use a 3 wood there at that shot? Lol
Someone has gotta do a compilation of rick saying “ RICK!” every time he misses a shot ahah
Approach Game Approach Game Approach Game.
Or "You Absolute..."
"YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!" :-)
"That went different in my head" pretty much sums up every stroke ever for me 😂😂😂
NEXT EP: 'Today I'm down here in Trafford pitch-and-putt. It's playing 3100 yards off the back tee and a par of 54, fingers crossed we get in below 75!'
I watch Rick's videos because his reactions mirror mine. Sometimes we can't stay positive and we get frustrated but that doesn't mean we stop smiling, laughing and enjoying the game. So keep playing and smiling. Golf is about having fun, when I play and have fun the score isn't a big deal. We focus on did the past 3-4 hours make us smile, laugh, cry, shout, and enjoy our time. If the answer is yes then you made a great use of your 4 hours.
The fourth when your eagle turned into a double is so relatable.
I had two eagle putts in one round last week, first time ever. both less than 20 feet and ended up with two pars........yet I still love this damn game!!
I’ve never shot a birdie before but I striped a 4 iron for my second shot into a par 5. Had an eagle putt from the fringe. Made a complete mess of it for a bogey. Golf giveth, golf taketh away.
@@Greg-in-Orange 1st on is always the hardest, took my years to get mine, then I went like 7 rounds in a row with a bridge and one round with 2 and a rim job on the 3rd. It's a lot like sex actually 😅
I scored par when I had my first ever eagle putt the other day, was so mad haha
@@matthewdaggett5163 I've hit the green for an eagle once but i don't really think of it that way when I'm sitting like 25ft away. It was a bogey by the end of that mess. Probably my best drive/4 iron hits ever and ruined by a putter lol
Rick: **misses every GIR**
Also Rick: “Idk I feel like I haven’t done anything wrong” hahaha I feel it too
I have never...and I mean NEVER...rooted for any golf player to get a birdie more than Rick. You are the man, and your videos are awesome! Keep them coming sir!
This round is the epitome of "drive for show, putt for dough".
All us amateurs in the comments watching when Rick starts to get frustrated: “he’s just like us!”
Best series you’ve done Rick. I watch these as soon as I wake up on Saturday morning (I’m in NZ), and before I go out on the course. The videos are so relatable and I think people think more of you not less that you are willing to share your pain with us. I can’t give you golf advice but I would definitely recommend playing some easier courses before building up to a grande finale.
The angle you have at 9:18 is great, you should do more of this, it's what the boys at goodgood do really well at as well.
Feel like Rick needs to stop beating him self up everytime he misses a putt even if you playing not the best golf just keep a positive mind set and it will come to you
Yeah, I think he could be really good, if not for chasing birdies and then putting more and more pressure on himself, with every hole. Anyway, very relatable :-)
agreed i get it but if not practicing putting a ton then gotta just let it go cause you’ll miss random 3 footers and have 3 putts unless you dedicate to putting practice like every day.
I left a message last week saying the same thing. I know positivity helps me a lot.
Exactly! He was positive before his last putt and it went in.
He also needs to stop watching the ball off the putter face!
Is it just more or every time I get a Rick Shiels video in my recommended I start buzzing in excitement.
Definitely just you
Might be love lol
Is it the beard that does it for you?
Yes it's the same as the wife's 🤣
Recommended? Should be already subscribed with the bell chap.
I have to admit I’ve become addicted to Ricks videos. He effortlessly bridges the gap between us mere mortals and tour pros with some really challenging play. It couldn’t be any plainer just how skilful these guys are, but it still drives you to want to get better. Loving your work Rick!,
This should be an ongoing series and not just 12 episodes. I enjoy these so much!
“Golf, Eh?”
I find myself saying this all the time…
These vids are so fun to watch
Finishing on a birdie after that round is the ultimate “IM BACK BABY” type of feeling that gets you addicted and out there on the course again and again
That's why hackers such as myself keep coming back to this game. You can play some absolutely horrible golf, but when you leave the course you are only going to be thinking about that 30 foot putt you drained, or that 20 yard pitch that left you a tap in, or the 300 yard drive you ripped down the middle.
Right when the music stopped when you missed that putt on 11, my dog let out a huge fart. It made my day. Cheers!
I've been enjoying watching you on these under 75 challenges. Especially loving these difficult courses and watching you enjoying the challenge of the courses.
Oh forgot to add, you talk to yourself very much like I do. We are our worse critics. Also, are you using an electric bag cart?
My favorite quote came at 12:49 - "Golf eh?" That pretty much sums the game of golf up doesn't it?
Rick, I'm from Toronto Canada. We are in lock down with no golf for at least another 13 days. Thank you for your videos. They make my week. Keep up the good work. Also, in your next video, can you give the people of Toronto a pep talk? we need it. :)
Ontario Canada is the only place in the world you can't play because the premier mismanaged covid.
Now against scientific advice decided to shutdown golf.
Stay strong Ontario.
Hey Toronto, Kingston here. I am struggling too. Can't wait til this is over.
Hang in there Sina. I'm from Colborne Ontario and i know how you feel. Rick's videos are keeping me going.
Hey, Toronto suburb here... hopefully back playing in a couple of weeks! 🤞
Rick, You deserve all the subscribers that you have (Come on 2M!). You are so humble and entertaining even when you are frustrated. Keep em coming.
These videos are so much fun! Excited to watch every Friday!
I wish these were longer videos. However I will admit that I learned some newer words to chastise myself like Plonker lol.
There are days when the golf gods just don't smile on you... this was one of those days... you really struck the ball well today... you played good golf... you had no luck...
I love this series. Seriously look forward to Friday’s just for this.
These break 75 videos are so much fun to watch. Great fun.
This course looked absolutely amazing! Would have loved to see a bit more of Jacks game
“I didn’t get the pace and I didn’t hit the line” Story of my putting right now
"If the hole had been cut in the right place it would have gone in."
Is our catchphrase
Sounds like me on every shot I play, not just putting lol
This was such a good video actually. Watching a pro/semi pro walk and talk through a round where they haven't played to their usual standard is so useful for beginners to see how you handle it. It's still s great score considering he's off the back tees and not putting like normal, but nice to remember literally everyone has bad days.
Thank you for all of your videos, Rick! Well appreciated!
Come on Rick, you can do it 💪
i can’t wait to see if we see mr. peter finch soon!! 🙌🙌
Just love to see the struggle of a golfer, that is what makes this game amazing
I appreciate that you show us the raw emotion you experience. 100% relatable
I love watching Rick get mad about making bogeys and shooting +7 when I would be ecstatic just to play with the same ball for a entire round.
Remember, Rick is a golf pro so a +7 for him is most mere mortals +28 or more.
Going from what you thought was an eagle to a double bogey 😂😂
Love these break 75 series, they motivate, fun and remind us that golf is not a game of perfect (Rotella,1995). Keep going Rick, love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Faaaaantastic editing on this series, please keep them coming. Really interesting to watch you plot your way around each course, and your different shot choices. You’ll smash it next week 💯
I feel like Rick would be a really fun person to play a round of 18 with!
Pro..."Your long game has been very good" what a gentleman.
this brought me such great joy. im a 12 handicap chasing sub 80 rounds and to see a pga pro struggle like you do on some of these courses my game feels so much better.
This is your best series. It honestly helps to see how each round goes a little different and how psychological it can be more so then skill level.
I know he is a tour pro, but I feel like not enough people are talking about how awesome Jack’s swing is.
Yeah, his turn is insane - one swift mover.
“I wish I could buy your golf game”
Swingless golf club:
Am I a joke to you?
You never ending passion for golf definitely is what keeps me popping back for a cheeky watch here and there
It's all in your head Rick! You hit those long shots with ease and confidence 'cause you know you have it in you - and relax. Try and clear your head and feel that confidence in your short game.
Can we just acknowledge the fact that Rick cares enough to make good videos that we can enjoy❤
He’s not gunna shag you mate
@@tomburns2541 Not the plan either😅
Cheers mate have a great day
If i got a bird on 18th hole, i will forgive my +30 any time 😂
Thanks for another great vid Rick!
The feeling of a birdie on 18 is the best way to end a frustrating round, well done!!!
Rick what I like about your videos is that you show the good as well as the bad in your game no editing and constantly try to improve which encourages others to follow
Difference being he's smiling and being positive and having fun while you throw clubs, swear, and admonish yourself for bad putts.
Get out of your head, Rick!!! You're a damn good golfer, and are far too hard on yourself shot-to-shot. Find a way to reset after each swing, each hole...
I love this series because it shows that my favorite youtubers also struggle which is assuring to know
Really makes you appreciate how good the pros are.
That course was so beautiful. Love this series so much...can you do 2 a week please?
Just loving this series!!!!
Love it when Rick swears. Relatable golf content 👌🏼
Between this series and the videos with James Robinson...I can't believe how much of a game changer having a strong putting game is.
Such great fun watching you play golf.
That was a great snapshot of a round of golf. Starts with excitement and anticipation, Then trying to force birdies and pars, Hanging on and grinding when you realize it's not your day, Analyzing and laughing when it's over, Can't wait to do it all again......
The best series ever.. more like this!! Awesome job Rick
And this is why it's such a good game. Last week your putting was on fire and really held your score for sinking or getting within the bin lid for a two putt. This week your drives were class!
Yay, Rick! Nice birdie on the last hole. Tough outing, but very entertaining. Loved how the music stopped after the putt on the 11th... and your two great lines, 'Plonker' and 'Are these holes regulation size??'. You are still the Golf Warrior :-)
I’d consider myself new to golf and I actually really appreciate watching this. It reminds me to be kind to myself. Even pros can get in their own head.
I love these Break 75 videos. Keep them coming!
Thoroughly enjoyed that. Thank you
Love this series! Best way to start out a Friday
Great show again. thanks for the trip on a beautiful course.
Really enjoying the series - would love to see more of the guests shots in these too? Even if in separate videos to see the differences in distances, approaches etc.
Keep up the good work - you've got this
GREAT video. i took golf up again just before the first lock down. playing 9 holes at my local public folf course 'Pennington Flash'. par 35. started off at 90 stroke. but through watching your videos ive managed to get it down. just finnished 9 holes and got my best score yet of 58. all thanks to you
Could see the frustration burning up Rick. A friend of mine is a member, been club captain and club champion. So not to jealous.👍👍👍👍
Great to see you in Wales Rik, loved your honesty and a final birdie. Gaz
Your driving was quality and the 3 wood into the wind was brilliant. Felt your pain with the putter.👍🏼
Always love to see the honesty of the tough shots. Hate to see the flat stick not drop for you. So many missed chances!!! I feel like you’re just teetering on the edge of it all coming together beautifully. Keep up the great work.
Love it! It's so satisfying to see the raw emotions. Lol
Absolutely love these videos
Really enjoying this series. Well done!
What a joy to watch.
Other than the whole hitting the driver straight thing.... I think I can speak for most golfers when I say this is one of the most relatable Rick Shiels videos I have ever seen
Great video Rick. You are putting your self under so much pressure. Stop getting stressed and enjoy the game.
Rick you and I are in the same boat. I’m great off the tee but from 100 yards in and putting is what’s killing my game lately. This video is totally relatable. Also the birdy on the last hole is what keeps us coming back. Keep at it!! 🤙🏻
these videos are my favourites at the moment. look forward to the day when i can consistently break 100
Ypu are putting like I do 😊 tthank you great content! All the usual drama I go thrue on a round of golf
I love Rick and his golfing videos out on the course. He’s got mad game. I would be happy to have that game when I play. But I can’t help noticing that Rick is an “expect and explode” golfer. He makes bold claims, he starts overly pumped and he focuses a lot on the physical game like driver length and such. Unfortunately despite his great game, that makes him the least clutch golfer on RUclips.
I also notice that his tour experienced playing opponents are the complete opposite. Completely chilled. No bold claims, no expectations, no focusing on how good the shots were. They play in silence and let their game do the talking... and it speaks.
Rick, golf is a mental game too and your physical game is already great. Your tech game with the videos are banging. Some of my favorite on RUclips. But get a hold of your mental game. It’s a huge part of it. Take a good shot the way you take a bad shot and do that by reacting to a bad shot the way you react to a good shot. Focus on accepting what comes rather than announcing what you want to happen. Accept a birdie instead of predicting it. And most importantly spend that brimming excitement you have at the beginning of the game economically through the 18 holes so you end as excited as you started. Instead of burning it all in the car park and having nothing left by the first green.
I honestly think if you get control of your mental game, your superb physical game will dominate all the courses you play on. You’ve got game. Allow your mental game to showcase it.
Admittedly I know pump and plunge golf makes for entertaining videos and if that is the priority then go as you have been. But I think your fans, myself definitely included, want to see you become a clutch golfer. All golfers have bad shots and bad holes and you will too. But your fans want to see a video where you needed a putt to drop and you go clutch master and drill it. You need a drive to be pure and you send a screamer splitting the fairway. You need to hit a green from a bad tee shot and you hit it like a sniper.
Your fans are rooting for you Rick.
Love this series, enjoy seeing England’s courses. It may be time to give your Even Roll a pink slip
Love this series! Keep it up
Your swing is looking so much better Rick, a lot less mechanical and more fluid. This was a great round!!
