    I so appreciate how Donna handles her “mistake” in this quilt. Anyone who has ever made a quilt and then noticed something “not quite right” will appreciate her support for all things quilting. These tutorials are so clear, so well done - thank you Donna and Jordan Fabrics!

      Yes! Love her so much. It’s nice to see even experienced quilters make little mistakes here and there. Never edits it out. Love that about her.

    it is NOT a mistake, it is a creative design change! People get so hung up on the little things. No one will notice, they will just love the quilt!!!

    Painter bob Ross always said, "There are no mistakes, only happy little accidents!" I love how the quilt turned out with your design change! I like the original design with the 2ndary diamond pattern, too. Always love your tutorials; thanks so much for sharing your time and talents.

    I don’t see the ‘mistake’; I see a cohesive series of points around the perimeter of the quilt. It’s much more pleasing to the eye. Thanks again, Donna, for another brilliant interpretation of a Cozy Quilt Designs pattern! ❤️

    I like that the "mistake" makes the ends look like ribbon edge. I think it looks better your way. Love the fabric!

      Another vote for the “mistake.” The ribbon ends go better with the star points. The blunt end stops the flow.

    Fun quilt! I noticed the mistake while you were laying it out and went back to the beginning to see how it was supposed to look. Then I fast forwarded to see if you would notice before you finished. LOL. It is still a very pretty quilt - I like the freshness of the white background. The give away quilt is gorgeous. Very classy. However, I need another quilt in my home like I need a hole in my head! Thanks for the tutorial. You always do such a good job!

    I’ve been looking for a star quilt pattern that is beginner friendly and uses a jelly roll and low and behold Jordan Fabrics delivers! Thank you so much Donna!!! I like the mistake too as it looks like a Christmas ribbon 🎀

    For a Christmas quilt I think the 'wrong' way make it look like ribbon ends! I really like it.

    Actually, I would make this quilt with "your mistake" instead of the pattern. The points on the outside match your star points. A much better finish than the "correct" way. Beautiful quilt, and beautiful fabric selection. I will order this pattern. I have so many jelly rolls to choose from! Thanks for another great tutorial👍!

    Mistake or not, it is a beautiful quilt! Another pattern for me to hunt for. The wall hanging would be great in neutral colors to keep up all year long! I love looking forward to new tutorials to watch with my coffee on Saturday mornings! 🍁🧵

    I like the quilt better with the red mistake. I personally think it looks better. Now I need to win this quilt today. I have Lupus and butterflies are our symbol, the butterfly of hope. Ohhh I’m excited.

    When I wrap a package, I often put ribbon around it and then a bow with two tails. I do the tails just like that piece that you put the opposite way - in the orientation just as you did it. I thought that was what you were doing to finish the edge without starting a partial star, and that made perfect sense to me. Love it both ways!

    Boy, I really like the way you did it, because I think the “diamonds” overwhelmed the rest of the design too much. Your version blended in well with the overall design and even looked like the ends of a ribbon, which matched the Christmas theme beautifully. I am really excited that I can use up some of my existing jelly rolls!

    I'd love to see some scrap quilts that you make from the triangles you trim off from the various patterns you've made. I know you could make some stunning patterns with the small HST's from the various scraps, and it would be very inspirational.

    For beginning quilters, this pattern is perfect because it is easy to match and it uses precuts. Doesn’t get any better than that.

    I think that the Christmas quilt looks better with that orientation. I looks like a ribbon. It just seems weird the other way. It really is a beautiful pattern!

    This pattern is very ingenious in the way the stars are made. Cozy quilts are really well done patterns. I would not have noticed the "mistake" if you hadn't pointed it out. I agree, I wouldn't worry when these things happen. It's beautiful how it turned out!

    What a genius way to lay out the stars. I've been looking for a pattern for a patriotic quilt for my niece who served in the navy. I think the "mistake" was easy to make because it looks so natural. Thank you for this tutorial.

    I love Christmas quilts, especially those with stars. This one's going into my queue! I really like your strategy of making the blocks with grey, black, and green stars, with all red sashing stars; it makes the layout flow beautifully.     Donna, I'm very glad you made you "mistake", because on the lap quilt it looks like the points of ribbons at the edges and all the star legs are facing that way as well. On the wall hanging, with the darker fabrics in the background, I think the pattern layout works better. Beautiful quilter and quilts, as always!

    I like the “mistake” on the red and green quilt. Looks like Christmas ribbons so works well with the colors. The wall hanging I like as u did also, makes a pattern.

    Oh! Ok, I thought, "That is wrong, those bits should be the other way about." Then, "No, Donna can't be wrong, she's the most perfect patchworker/quilter there is." Then I realised even perfect folk make mistakes...and their mistakes look good too! Can't choose between the different tops! ❤😊

      Same here, I just thought as Donna was putting them down, "Maybe they'd look better the other way around" but I didn't notice the square. Lovely whatever way they are.

      ​​@@edithyoung596 Hi Edith yes they do the problem is the shipping costs are as expensive as the fabric so its very expensive to purchase from the USA. Then when it arrives the UK customs can slap some more money on it in tax! 😥

    I actually like the way the first quilt mistake looks better than how it’s supposed to look. In the big quilt the pieces that were supposed to be turned around actually look like the end of ribbons going through the quilt so I like it I would do it that way from now on.

    Love the quilt, the mistake just personalized it. I also love your camera work, I enjoy watching you sew. There are quilters who just show where to sew, but don’t actually let us see the sewing itself. I love the way you zoom in on it and we get to see and hear the Maschine. 👍🏻
