I so appreciate how Donna handles her “mistake” in this quilt. Anyone who has ever made a quilt and then noticed something “not quite right” will appreciate her support for all things quilting. These tutorials are so clear, so well done - thank you Donna and Jordan Fabrics!
I truly like the way your “mistake” turned out than the original pattern. Just seems to look so much better at the edges with all those points facing out.
Painter bob Ross always said, "There are no mistakes, only happy little accidents!" I love how the quilt turned out with your design change! I like the original design with the 2ndary diamond pattern, too. Always love your tutorials; thanks so much for sharing your time and talents.
I don’t see the ‘mistake’; I see a cohesive series of points around the perimeter of the quilt. It’s much more pleasing to the eye. Thanks again, Donna, for another brilliant interpretation of a Cozy Quilt Designs pattern! ❤️
LOL I like your "mistake" version better than the pattern's version! I really like this quilt. Your colors and fabric patterns are perfect. Thanks for another beautiful quilting video. 😊 👍 💕
Fun quilt! I noticed the mistake while you were laying it out and went back to the beginning to see how it was supposed to look. Then I fast forwarded to see if you would notice before you finished. LOL. It is still a very pretty quilt - I like the freshness of the white background. The give away quilt is gorgeous. Very classy. However, I need another quilt in my home like I need a hole in my head! Thanks for the tutorial. You always do such a good job!
I’ve been looking for a star quilt pattern that is beginner friendly and uses a jelly roll and low and behold Jordan Fabrics delivers! Thank you so much Donna!!! I like the mistake too as it looks like a Christmas ribbon 🎀
Thank you Donna, it’s a beautiful quilt. Thank you for showing that “mistakes” are part of the creative process and nothing to worry about. It makes a big difference to see someone like you with a healthy attitude.
Actually, I would make this quilt with "your mistake" instead of the pattern. The points on the outside match your star points. A much better finish than the "correct" way. Beautiful quilt, and beautiful fabric selection. I will order this pattern. I have so many jelly rolls to choose from! Thanks for another great tutorial👍!
Mistake or not, it is a beautiful quilt! Another pattern for me to hunt for. The wall hanging would be great in neutral colors to keep up all year long! I love looking forward to new tutorials to watch with my coffee on Saturday mornings! 🍁🧵
I like the quilt better with the red mistake. I personally think it looks better. Now I need to win this quilt today. I have Lupus and butterflies are our symbol, the butterfly of hope. Ohhh I’m excited.
I like the mistake on the Christmas quilt. To me it looks like the ends of ribbon, gift wrap. Love your shows. I learn so much. You are a super teacher. Thanks.
When I wrap a package, I often put ribbon around it and then a bow with two tails. I do the tails just like that piece that you put the opposite way - in the orientation just as you did it. I thought that was what you were doing to finish the edge without starting a partial star, and that made perfect sense to me. Love it both ways!
Boy, I really like the way you did it, because I think the “diamonds” overwhelmed the rest of the design too much. Your version blended in well with the overall design and even looked like the ends of a ribbon, which matched the Christmas theme beautifully. I am really excited that I can use up some of my existing jelly rolls!
I'd love to see some scrap quilts that you make from the triangles you trim off from the various patterns you've made. I know you could make some stunning patterns with the small HST's from the various scraps, and it would be very inspirational.
I think that the Christmas quilt looks better with that orientation. I looks like a ribbon. It just seems weird the other way. It really is a beautiful pattern!
Actually I like the way your red quilt finishes around the edges. They look like the ends of ribbons! Something different - and better, in my opinion 😉
I am amazed how well you explain step by step instructions. Your talent, along with your personality can make a person who is dumb as a box of rocks with quilting (me) feel confident with my work. The Best to you and your family business.
This pattern is very ingenious in the way the stars are made. Cozy quilts are really well done patterns. I would not have noticed the "mistake" if you hadn't pointed it out. I agree, I wouldn't worry when these things happen. It's beautiful how it turned out!
What a genius way to lay out the stars. I've been looking for a pattern for a patriotic quilt for my niece who served in the navy. I think the "mistake" was easy to make because it looks so natural. Thank you for this tutorial.
I love Christmas quilts, especially those with stars. This one's going into my queue! I really like your strategy of making the blocks with grey, black, and green stars, with all red sashing stars; it makes the layout flow beautifully. Thank you, Donna, for making this approachable for newer quilters.
Donna, I'm very glad you made you "mistake", because on the lap quilt it looks like the points of ribbons at the edges and all the star legs are facing that way as well. On the wall hanging, with the darker fabrics in the background, I think the pattern layout works better. Beautiful quilter and quilts, as always!
I like the “mistake” on the red and green quilt. Looks like Christmas ribbons so works well with the colors. The wall hanging I like as u did also, makes a pattern.
Oh! Ok, I thought, "That is wrong, those bits should be the other way about." Then, "No, Donna can't be wrong, she's the most perfect patchworker/quilter there is." Then I realised even perfect folk make mistakes...and their mistakes look good too! Can't choose between the different tops! ❤😊
Same here, I just thought as Donna was putting them down, "Maybe they'd look better the other way around" but I didn't notice the square. Lovely whatever way they are.
You make everything look so easy. How do you always do that. You are such a good teacher. Does your daughter edit your sons filming? Yours are by far the best teaching videos. You make everything clear!
The quilt is absolutely beautiful! I would have never noticed the "oops", ...it doesn't distract from the beauty of the quilt! Thank you for sharing. 😊🌹
I am new to quilting. I just found your channel and I have learned so much from watching them. I have made a table runner and I am ready to start my first quilt. Glad to see a happy mistake. It adds a new twist to the pattern.
LOVE THIS QUILT Donna and I actually love the "wrong" version best! Your brain must have automatically put it the way you felt it looked best! Don't forget you are a PROFESSIONAL quilt maker. I would love this quilt in the christmas fabrics with metallic highlights in. Oh I wish I lived in America so many more quilting outlets than the UK 🇬🇧 😪
@@edithyoung596 Hi Edith yes they do the problem is the shipping costs are as expensive as the fabric so its very expensive to purchase from the USA. Then when it arrives the UK customs can slap some more money on it in tax! 😥
I actually like the way the first quilt mistake looks better than how it’s supposed to look. In the big quilt the pieces that were supposed to be turned around actually look like the end of ribbons going through the quilt so I like it I would do it that way from now on.
i absolutely love how you explain which way to press the seams, i haven't seen any other tutorials that do that....it's extremely helpful and muchly appreciated! beautiful quilt!! oh and there are no mistakes, just happy little design changes lol
Hi Donna, your fabric pic for your patterns amaze me. You have such a great eye for color. Hope you and Matt are keeping warm. My husband and I live not to far from Grants Pass, we're located in Lebanon. Thanks Matt for all your hard work cutting kits out for us. I've learned a great deal from watching your channel. Thanks for sharing.
Love the quilt, the mistake just personalized it. I also love your camera work, I enjoy watching you sew. There are quilters who just show where to sew, but don’t actually let us see the sewing itself. I love the way you zoom in on it and we get to see and hear the Maschine. 👍🏻
your "mistake" looks WAY better to my eye. Love this pattern
I so appreciate how Donna handles her “mistake” in this quilt. Anyone who has ever made a quilt and then noticed something “not quite right” will appreciate her support for all things quilting. These tutorials are so clear, so well done - thank you Donna and Jordan Fabrics!
Yes! Love her so much. It’s nice to see even experienced quilters make little mistakes here and there. Never edits it out. Love that about her.
it is NOT a mistake, it is a creative design change! People get so hung up on the little things. No one will notice, they will just love the quilt!!!
I truly like the way your “mistake” turned out than the original pattern. Just seems to look so much better at the edges with all those points facing out.
I agree I also like that way more
I really like it too… on the Christmas quilt it reminds me of a ribbon 🥰 honestly I like it better.
Agreed!
Would this work with a layer cake
I agree Georgia!
Painter bob Ross always said, "There are no mistakes, only happy little accidents!" I love how the quilt turned out with your design change! I like the original design with the 2ndary diamond pattern, too. Always love your tutorials; thanks so much for sharing your time and talents.
Your "mistake" looks like a Christmas present... I like it.
I don’t see the ‘mistake’; I see a cohesive series of points around the perimeter of the quilt. It’s much more pleasing to the eye. Thanks again, Donna, for another brilliant interpretation of a Cozy Quilt Designs pattern! ❤️
I like that the "mistake" makes the ends look like ribbon edge. I think it looks better your way. Love the fabric!
I like the “mistake” better than how the pattern was written, of course, I like all of your quilts.
Yea it looks like presents on the edge of the quilt center
Yes, I like it better too! It look like the ends of ribbons.
Me too! I really like the “mistake” better and think I will do that when I make mine!
Me, too. It looks like the tail of a ribbon.
Another vote for the “mistake.” The ribbon ends go better with the star points. The blunt end stops the flow.
LOL I like your "mistake" version better than the pattern's version! I really like this quilt. Your colors and fabric patterns are perfect. Thanks for another beautiful quilting video. 😊 👍 💕
same here... the "mistake" is better than the original pattern... love the color combinations too.
When she started putting those red stars, it's like, "what sorcery is this?" lol, such a pretty pattern
Me Too!!
I like the "mistake",,, actually better than the other way. Thank you for your tutorials and for your full disclosure. LOL
What a happy mistake!! Both ways look great. Your tutorials are always great.
I’ve been looking for a star quilt pattern that is beginner friendly and uses a jelly roll and low and behold Jordan Fabrics delivers! Thank you so much Donna!!! I like the mistake too as it looks like a Christmas ribbon 🎀
I wouldn't call it a mistake - it's a design choice! Looks great!
Never, ever thought to iron my "snowballed" corners in a different direction! It's like a whole new world just opened up for me.
Don't call it a mistake! The way you laid it out looks like the end of ribbons. I like it!
Thank you Donna, it’s a beautiful quilt. Thank you for showing that “mistakes” are part of the creative process and nothing to worry about. It makes a big difference to see someone like you with a healthy attitude.
I love the "happy accident"! It looks like the tail of a ribbon that's been woven between the stars!
I love the mistake better. Thank you love your channel
Thank you so much for watching!
For a Christmas quilt I think the 'wrong' way make it look like ribbon ends! I really like it.
Aw! I like that little “mistake” going either way! 😊
I love the Christmas colors. I wonder how this would look with patriotic material.
Mistake or not, it is a beautiful quilt! Another pattern for me to hunt for. The wall hanging would be great in neutral colors to keep up all year long! I love looking forward to new tutorials to watch with my coffee on Saturday mornings! 🍁🧵
Gotta love happy mistakes! Thank you Donna.
I like the quilt better with the red mistake. I personally think it looks better. Now I need to win this quilt today. I have Lupus and butterflies are our symbol, the butterfly of hope. Ohhh I’m excited.
I agree it makes the quilt look like a present 🎁
I like it better the way you did it than how it was supposed to be
I didn't even noticed the "mistake".it looks good Donna.
I think your "mistake" is just genius! I like quilt and video.
I like the mistake on the Christmas quilt. To me it looks like the ends of ribbon, gift wrap. Love your shows. I learn so much. You are a super teacher. Thanks.
Not a mistake Donna it is a design modification and truly beautiful 😍
haha aw thank you I do still love how it turned out even with the mistake!
I love that you embraced the “mistake”.
I like the way you did it because it makes it look like each one is the end of a ribbon, which seems more like Christmas.
I think the mistake looks like ribbon going across the whole quilt! I like it like that!! Beautiful!!
I actually like the happy accident way of laying out the throw size. Great video!
I agree with the others who think the "mistake" looks great. Thanks for another great tutorial
I love the way you put the ends. To me it looks like ribbons. I like it better than the way they supposed to go. I love watching your tutorials
I like the way you did the first one best. Happy accidents are great.
Am honoured to be learning new quilting techniques each time you post...
No mistakes, only happy creations
I love your happy little mistake! It actually looks 💯 better!
Those are called happy mistakes....I like it 👍🏼
Oh my gosh that gray quilt you’re giving away here. It will so much match my bedroom stuff that I have. Thanks for the chance to win it
I really like the mistake. It seems to blend with the other stars. Enjoy your videos.
Your “mistake “ makes it look like a ribbon holding the stars together. I will definitely make the “Donna’s mistake “ version. Thanks for sharing.
When I wrap a package, I often put ribbon around it and then a bow with two tails. I do the tails just like that piece that you put the opposite way - in the orientation just as you did it. I thought that was what you were doing to finish the edge without starting a partial star, and that made perfect sense to me. Love it both ways!
Love both finishes. Giveaway is a STUNNER.
Thanks Donna 🇬🇧
Hi Donna, I think that it looks better the way that you did it!
Lol it's a happy mistake I guess!
I agree!!!
Your design change gives the finished look of ribbons. Looks great!
I'd love to see some scrap quilts that you make from the triangles you trim off from the various patterns you've made. I know you could make some stunning patterns with the small HST's from the various scraps, and it would be very inspirational.
Mistake? WHAT mistake?? It's just another version of a Beautiful quilt! I love BOTH versions!
I like the mistake much better than the way the pattern was written. Thank you for another great tutorial. You are awesome.
The "mistake" is much more pleasing to the eye! It looks as though a ribbon runs through it!
When you pointed out your artistic change…I think I liked yours the most. The end bits look like ribbon ends in my opinion🥰
Donna, I actually like your “oops”, the pattern is very nice
For beginning quilters, this pattern is perfect because it is easy to match and it uses precuts. Doesn’t get any better than that.
Donna! I prefer your layout! Mistake? I don't think so.... it's an improvement ❤️
Luv the "mistake". It adds character! Beautiful fabric!
I think that the Christmas quilt looks better with that orientation. I looks like a ribbon. It just seems weird the other way. It really is a beautiful pattern!
I like the way you turned those edge pieces. It makes it look like ribbons running through the quilt.
Actually I like the way your red quilt finishes around the edges. They look like the ends of ribbons! Something different - and better, in my opinion 😉
I like "your mistake" better than the pattern showed! Love the colors that you choose for the quilt better than what was on the pattern.
I am amazed how well you explain step by step instructions. Your talent, along with your personality can make a person who is dumb as a box of rocks with quilting (me) feel confident with my work. The Best to you and your family business.
I like the accident! It looks like Christmas ribbons.
I like your 'mistake' because it looks like cut ribbon edges! If rather make it like that!! Very pretty!
I would never had known the mistake if you didn’t point it out. I love it. Wouldn’t it look grand in a blue and silver Christmas fabric.
Love the "mistake". There are no mistakes in quilting, just design options!
This pattern is very ingenious in the way the stars are made. Cozy quilts are really well done patterns. I would not have noticed the "mistake" if you hadn't pointed it out. I agree, I wouldn't worry when these things happen. It's beautiful how it turned out!
Hazel in Alabama, I love your version. I like the way the stars match all around the edge. Your so good you make good mistakes 🥰🤩😍
I like the star direction that you did. Looks much prettier. You do such beautiful work.
What a genius way to lay out the stars. I've been looking for a pattern for a patriotic quilt for my niece who served in the navy. I think the "mistake" was easy to make because it looks so natural. Thank you for this tutorial.
I love the mistake. It looks like the end of ribbons. I love your tutorials thank you. Be safe and stay healthy.
I think the happy little mistake finishes it! If I make it I will definitely do what you did! It looks so much better!!
I love Christmas quilts, especially those with stars. This one's going into my queue! I really like your strategy of making the blocks with grey, black, and green stars, with all red sashing stars; it makes the layout flow beautifully. Love it! Unless you pointed it out I wouldn't have known. Many thanks for all you do!
That quilt is Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!. I think I like the "mistake " better. Thank you. It does look like ends of ribbon

On the wall hanging, with the darker fabrics in the background, I think the pattern layout works better. Beautiful quilter and quilts, as always!
Love the “mistake” much better. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial!
I like your "mistake" better than the "right" way! Beautiful quilt, as always.
I like the “mistake” on the red and green quilt. Looks like Christmas ribbons so works well with the colors. The wall hanging I like as u did also, makes a pattern.
I didn't see the mistake either, I thought it look like ribbons. I like it!

I thought that they were wrong layed out on the table, too, but Donna is perfect so I must be wrong!
So pretty and I like your "mistake" better because it looks like ribbon ends😊
Donna, these are gorgeous!!! Your little accident made the quilt just beautiful.........I would never have noticed!!! Blessings to you and yours♥
You make everything look so easy. How do you always do that. You are such a good teacher. Does your daughter edit your sons filming? Yours are by far the best teaching videos. You make everything clear!

I like the way you did the throw better. Anyway it's not a mistake, it's a design choice!
Hello, I really prefer the quilt with the ‘mistake’.
Thank you for your video they are just great
LOVE THIS QUILT Donna and I actually love the "wrong" version best!
Your brain must have automatically put it the way you felt it looked best!
Don't forget you are a PROFESSIONAL quilt maker.
I would love this quilt in the christmas fabrics with metallic highlights in. Oh I wish I lived in America so many more quilting outlets than the UK 🇬🇧
😪
Well said Anita! I echo your comments.Donna is the best.
Doesn’t Jordan fabrics sell and ship all over the world!
I love the daily emails!
@@edithyoung596 Hi Edith yes they do the problem is the shipping costs are as expensive as the fabric so its very expensive to purchase from the USA. Then when it arrives the UK customs can slap some more money on it in tax! 😥

I enjoy the progress updates on Instagram leading up to the video! Nice to see how it all came together!
It seems to me that most of us prefer your ‘mistake’ to the original pattern - such a happy quilt! Love those ribbon-like points.
