- Blade and Sorcery was already one of the best VR games of all time. But after this U11 update, Blade and Sorcery is even more of one of the best VR games of all time. It is more immersive, there's RPG elements all over the gameplay, the graphics are incredible. Some of the best VR game graphics of all time as of today. Blade and Sorcery is just continuing to add new polish to an already amazing VR title and you love to see it. Blade and Sorcery feel like a AAA game more and more.

Hey, Baron here; producer for Blade and Sorcery. Damn, this was a really lovely video. Warpfrog team watched it and were laughing about the doors. Stev from the Warpfrog team who made the doors is very pleased, lol.
For the Crystal Hunt mode, yes it's coming! U11 was adding a lot of system frameworks that the mode is gonna need, so we are getting here slowly but surely haha. We gotta go over the roadmap and assess the damage the U11 beta delays did to it. Possibly the final update (U12) will be split into two parts if the roadmap damage was severe enough, which it probably was. Which means U12 might become a smaller intermediary update (what U11 was supposed to be lol) and then a new U13 will then become the final. Hopefully we will know this plan soon!

What it needs is co-op multiplayer! Could you imagine fighting off a horde of enemies with your buddy? That would be incredible!

there is a multiplayer mod for boneworks and sometimes someone else is able to grab the enemies arms and you're able to grab the legs and heave ho em
Apparently it was originally meant to be multiplayer but the physics in the game would not be able to handle multiplayer
YESS! And multiplayer not only with quest players, but with pc too! Then you can play with your PC buddy on quest!
Unfortunately it is not going to happen because it would need to scale the physics so many times for two players.
You can also spin weapons using telekinesis. Just hold the push and pull buttons at the same time and any weapon turns into a spinning death machine

Can't wait to see this VR concept in 10 years, specially using magic with glove controllers and also assassin gameplay with throwing daggers.
Me may not even need gloves if we have the equivalent of full dive - it’s already being researched.
Hopefully Habie sees this because one very critical thing not in the video that solidifies his hope for crystal hunt is that there is now an inventory system. More importantly that inventory system is split into 4 sections: Consumables (health potions, apples, or possibly more potions in future), Tools (things like the torch or zipline tool thing), Miscellaneous (kind of self explanatory) and valuables (probably where the crystals we’re hunting for are gonna go). Both misc and valuables have no use in the current stage of the game but clearly show they’re preparing for the release crystal hunt.
You can store buckets, and books, and other well, misc in the misc section. But yeah valuables doesn't have a use from what ive been testing.

I think the best part of VR games is that for now, the developers are passionate and actually care for their craft.
I think vr games will be like that for a good while because theres just something about working on a fully immersive game will bring passion out of the people developing the game like no other game medium could, like imagine the artists of a game building a scene then getting to actually walk and experience what they’ve just worked so hard on in such a way or the animation team actually interacting with the people they’ve animated first hand etc. Vr can be such a beautiful medium.
@@gwan1714 i believe in the idea that vr worlds are a form of reality by it self. You see it with your eyes, your ears, you move in it. As far as the tech goes this days for the brain it's a real perception, like dreams
probably becuase vr isn’t as profitable and so any company looking for sheer profit has no business in the vr industry

@@neptune7042 Exactly you can't create pump and dump style games every year for vr like the cod creators do now that's why most games take a while because they're actually worth it and not just a reskinned copy of another game.
This is the best route Blade & Sorcery can take as a game project. Not only is it released and creating a steady fanbase, they have the most important module; a solid foundation. Alot of games try to rush unique and popular mechanics first and then fill in the gaps with shoddy fundamentals, but this game is focusing on its immersiveness by improving combat. Well done!

You've always been able to force grab but if you have the void spell equipped it makes it stronger and if you push your hand away and let the button go then it launches the object or person you are holding forward like the telekenesis spell in skyrim. It works on arrows so you technically don't need a bow to shoot your arrows
Another thing is if you pull for long and hard enough you can pull off limbs, this has been in the game for a while too, it's just savage

Lighting + lighting = Tesla beam
Gravity + gravity = gravity bubble
Fire + staff slam = homing fireballs
Fire + staff use = fireball sling
Lighting + staff slam = lighting shockwave
Lighting + staff use = lighting whip
Gravity + staff use = gravity grab
Gravity + staff slam = shockwave
Gravity + point down and push fast = gravity jump
Gravity + point down midair = gravity hover
Staff slam is just hitting it on the ground
Staff use is holding the use button
Which is the use button, I've tried the staff before and could only do ground slams from what I tried.

They also added new merge spells, a meteor and a laser. You can also fly with the gravity spell

I have 240 hours in this game and every update I feel excited like a little kid because the updates all change so much it's insane. I absolutely love this game and the teasers for U12 look incredible especially the new dungeon, but this update, the complete animation overhaul made combat feel so much better it made the previous versions feel like you're fighting against toddlers who don't know how to hold a sword in comparison. I have recently really been getting into dungeons and I can see how I will spend the next 200 hours.

Part of the grabbing people with telekinesis/gravity spell is that you can grab 2 of someone’s limbs, and then move them apart - effectively tearing them apart

picking up people with gravity is my favorite thing to do, you can also rip them apart if you grab two different limbs and move them away from each other
throwing swords through them on the ground feels so cool as well
Nothing is better than chucking your sword in the air and it comes down and slices your opponents
I love how all of us gamers are just genuinely excited about the little details in games. I love latches on doors and the ability to interact with game worlds the same as in real life. I can feel the passion put into the game by the developers :)
not only is there a lot of passion, but the devs do it so quickly too.
@@waffler-yz3gw makes me think twice about buying more AAA products. The whole industry has been pretty shaky lately. But we got indie devs doing stuff like this, boneworks, and even that cat platformer stray looks really cool.
It's important especially for VR games because a good VR game needs as much freedom and realistic interaction as possible to really feel like you're in that world
@@PVT_White exactly! Even if the graphics aren't realistic like job simulator, you can still kinda get immersed in the world because of all the interactivity in it
what I wanna see is more human-like AI, I wanna see aggression, I wanna see them block and parry with urgency, I wanna see a struggle when things look helpless, I wanna see raw expression, and maybe even some comradery or attachment in enemy groups

Right now I think the extent of their lines is “You shouldn’t be here!”
I’d also like to see actual effects from being wounded. Right now they are either “totally fine, can fight normally” and “dead.”
If I cut an enemy’s achilles tendon and stab them in the knee, I want to see them on the ground, non-hostile, and begging for mercy while lamenting the pain they are in.
If would open up RPG opportunities to have non-lethal fights as a good guy or be a merciless killer as a bad guy. Like Habie has pointed out before, right now the game forces us to kill the NPCs, even when they are defenseless because the moment we don’t they just find a weapon and keep fighting. I don’t like that. It makes the enemy feel like relentless robots, not Medieval people.

Well, uhh, yeah the physics could be imported to other projects, however not sure how great it’s work in other projects
It pretty much already is as a Skyrim VR Mod. :P
Game just needs proper gore mechanics, where you can chop every part of the body, and proper bleed and gouging mechanics. Wouldnt mind some mechanics to make blunt weapons more visually pleasing, like proper ragdoll effect, bone fractures / breaks along with noises.
Dark souls vr could be make once they add custom dungeons
@@owo1744 The sectory mod does a lot of work in that area. I don't remember if it has a visual effect for it, but it definitely adds bone breaking, among other things.

i've not tried much with vr yet but this seems like something that would mess up immersion a bit
like imagine going up to a door and expecting just to easily open it, so you grab the door and you move your arm all the way out, but the door doesn't open
I did not realize the door-latch thing so instead i walked up to the spawn book, got myself a 2 hand axe, and basically cut it open. Best way to open it imo.

at the risk of sounding like a huge psycho, what makes blood trail so scary is the facial animations. seeing the enemies wince and look fearful would really take this game over the top.
Liking gore should be normalised, a lot of us do, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who goes more psychotic than Patrick Bateman when playing this game

6:07 U12. They have a roadmap, Crystal Hunt has been scheduled for U12 for a long time. And after U12 is 1.0, meaning full release. Have a look at the roadmap and change logs, there is a lot of things in this update you missed.
He seams to have missed spell combination and the gravity spell flight thing.

One thing that you missed that shocked me is the fact that you used to be able to only combine the gravity spell in both hands to make the anti gravity bubble but now you can do it with fire electricity too! They make really cool things aswell

I'm convinced the developers aren't really interested in making a game but are just using this title/genre as a playground to see what crazy stuff they can figure out. And it's glorious.

The best part of this game is that instead of banning mods and modders, as well as getting rid of any form of modding the game like most Triple-A companies do for single-player games, they have used and showcased mods since pre-U6 not just that, but they have hired a Burt load of modders to the team, this makes me smile, because not only does it encourage you to download mods (ranging from ridiculously overpowered weapons and spells, to simple QoL mods that improve immersion and gameplay) but it also shows the extreme community support for this game. Which just puts a devilish grin on my face the more I think about it.
I’ve never seen a company straight up ban modding, and most games today heavily support modding. What a delusional mind you have.
It’s only been that way because of consoles and the companies who owns them don’t want people getting free content. Pc players had the mods button for almost every game.

They are the best when it comes to communicating with the players and there were betas and news updates for months, also we have known that crystal hunt is coming in U12 since the news about U11 started. Please habie read the steam news before you say all kind of stuff.

I just wanted to say something, it's been in the game for a while but you have to know.
If you force hold an item and hold the push and pull button at the same time, the item spins and it obliterates anything it comes into contact with.

As far as the gravity goes for lifting people like you were talking about halfway through the video, you can also grab someone in two different spots with gravity on two hands and pull them apart to tear their limbs off. This game makes people look like psychopaths lmao.

This reminds me of Half Life 2: Lost Coast. Beautiful scenery, lighting and sounds. Makes you feel like you are really there and that is with out VR.
Honestly the VR kinda takes it away a little bit for me. The screendoor effect is really there at least on my headset (Rift S).

When the beta released and I heard there were gonna be doors, I litterly downloaded it, opened the game, kicked the door and screamed super loud in excitement because this, this is just awesome!
I can't wait for custom maps with doors but we need to wait for the new SDK

3:28 it’s not a new update but it’s sooooo fun, I love doing it on Canyon and just flicking people off the bridge. Also it’s fun to hold the hand (using the gravity thing)they have their weapon in and keep it back, and then just slowly put a dagger in their face

I'm personally more of a sorcery person than a blade person but I will say I love how dynamic the cuts you make on enemies are. It makes your specific actions feel like they have impact even if swinging wildly works just as well.
I actually thought slashing weapons were underpowered, until I tried real fencing and understood how the weight of the weapon feels like. It's always a good sign when real-life research makes you better at the game!
You can also kick the doors open
And with the void grab (idk what it's actually called) you can use it with both hands and literally rip enemies apart. I think trigger on each hand pulls them in and the controller buttons (at least on my rift s) pushes away. Just push them away far enough and move your hands away from each other
Grab the neck and the legs. You can rip their heads off like a Lego.

@@xalener it's a bit finniky vanilla but can be done. There's mods to make it easier though and their updated really quick after an update
I'm hydrated and loving the content as always. Something about asserting "attention to detail" while hacking at your own limbs with a hatchet (7:25) really did it for me XD

Now that they’ve officially added the inventory system I’d be shocked if gem hunt isn’t in u12. Also I know everyone’s probably said this already but you didn’t mention the new spell merges, staff moves, or the fact using the gravity spell you can rip people’s limbs off by grabbing two limbs and pulling them apart until they stretch to far.
The gravity spell ripping thing was actually added before u11. It was the only way I could do well in early survival rounds lol
You can also glide away with Gravity. By jumping and raising down both of your hands while charging Gravity. Which is a very cool mobility system.
This is the smoothest my brain has felt. I was legitimately blown away by the simplest things and for a second, I even went full MOKEE because I thought they finally made pouring potions into the cup an actual mechanic, but still, everything from the door, to the muffle, to the apples, every new thing blew my mind.
A fine addition to the collection! A VR RUclipsr.
If you grab someone with the purple power thing in two spots and slowly pull your hands apart it rips them apart and it's so cool

Dude I’m hydrated and I’m pumped for everything in this new update! First yes that gravity grab has been in the game since u9 you just had to have the gravity spell equipped to use it and second crystal hunt is coming, as other people have said check the roadmap as it has so much useful info.
H3VR is working on doors too, and you can break them in melee, shooting and explosives.

amazing video i love this game so so much and 7:09 i remember trying to do that a long time ago and being sad hopefully they add it since warpfrog responded in the comments amazing studio and cant wait to see what projects they have after blade and sorcery but i hope they keep updating it a lot it really is the best vr game out there in my opinion with modding and everything its just fantastic i hope to make a game that even somewhat compares to it one day
Would love a VR MMORPG game like this. Imagine that, using all kinds of weapons, magic, psionics, ki, ect. with your classes/subclasses, and going through various worlds and planes of existence.

@@boomerpro87 Well, things do get better over time. And if you have a great team of coders helping you, it can be done. Maybe not with this kind of quality, but we do have vr mmorpgs and more and more are showing up.

Habie has to be the best vr commentator I have ever heard. His reviews for games have lead me to play A LOT of titles. He got me into the new Blade and Socery update and into games that will be ported into the quest 2. His best video series so far HAS TO BE Blade and socery, and Into the radius. I don’t know how many times I have watched his videos over and over again. Sorry for the paragraph of about how Habie is great.

That telekinesis Feature against enemies was there before, I use that when I play a Sith with the Star Wars Mod.
Also, if you use the other hand to grip the head as well as the leg and push one bodypart away and pull the other towards you, then you can rip the persons head or leg off 😁

3:14 I'm not sure if that was one of my mods but I think that was always there. You can even pull on another limb while you hold them in the air and rip the limb out
Its been there since u9 at the very least since that's when I got the game and thought Gravity spell only pushed people and was useless. Had it equipped for some reason and grabbed a person's foot by accident when trying to obtain a distant weapon and witnessed why it's the most fun spell in the game.
Dude... Gravity magic has been in the game for years.
And you evidently haven't seen the relatively new doors in H3VR. Those blow that door out of the water. They latch, there's double doors, you can beach the deadbolt and latch or just blow the hinges off and knock it down, or get primal and tear the whole thing to pieces with a chainsaw or explosives.
THOSE are the greatest doors in VR.
I agree H3VR has way better doors, but going by this video Habie don't know how to set something to active beta or read patch noted for that matter. So he probably has no idea they are even in that game, also they are still very early access in H3 and i think it will be a while till Anton is done with those.
Still, I do agree with you on this one though.

By the gravity thing he may mean that you can use gravity on them when you don't have the gravity spell equiped. I found that i could with no mod for it.
@@jaysondoster9729 i know that but they are still really wonky right now. You ever tried to break on down with a blunt weapon? It don't work haha. I love the doors in H3 bit they could use a lot more work, also shooting out the lock hinges with a pistol is near impossible in my experience
@@sweatymilk8590 Yeah I haven’t tried a blunt weapon I suppose. True they’re definitely not perfect but most things in H3 aren’t. Lol to be fair about the handgun part, that’s basically impossible irl so Anton likely made it that way on purpose. Shotguns work mostly because they just shred the wood around it. A regular projectile isn’t gonna do much but bounce off. Either way I’m just glad Anton keeps adding cool stuff and details like that.

One thing I do is I find different ways to use the abilities, one ability I have made up is *Fire Jump* , basically you make the meteor and then throw it down, causing it to send you up (If you go too high quickly switch to gravity and glide down), plus it takes out nearby enemies.
The grabbing people with the gravity spell has been something you could do for a while now. But it always exciting learning new abilities as if you actually have super powers
How do you do it? I thought it was a mod a few patches ago

I played for the first time in a while, and the area outside of the house stunned me. I had this really surreal feeling of immersion for the first time in years. This game really shows a lot of what the future of vr can bring.

If you are on pc blade and sorcery, there are 2 mods for standalone neck stabbing and a combat overhaul named sectors with bone breaking, bleeding, live dismemberment, neck snapping, and more
@@ChickenBeter Sectory might be the single best mod for B&S, it makes the game so much more enjoyable than it already is. Not only all that you mentioned but a complete A.I. overhaul with enhanced mechanics and the ability to train the A.I. itself. The creator is also in the process of updating and reworking everything into a brand new mod called Total Game Overhaul, so I would be on the look out for that as well. If you have a copy of B&S on PC you’re severely doing yourself a disservice by not having Sectory installed, ha ha.
Equip antigravity spell in both hands and telekinetically grip their neck with both hands.
You can merge the electric and fire spells now like you put your hands together with gravity spells

that was in the game since u8, I remember being so exited that I didn't need dark chains (u6/u7 mod that let you use telekinesis on enemies) anymore.

WHAT! I didn't know you could open that door! I had the htc vive until recently and I just blew the door open with the large fireball and I was still impressed it actually opened.
