- Contractors is just becoming every game in one VR game. Star Wars Battlefront is a legendary set of games. Star Wars Battlefront 2 was one of the first games I ever played. And to play these Star Wars maps in VR while holding Star Wars blasters in VR is some of the best VR gameplay I've ever played. Clones and droids included. Contractors is absolutely popping off right now. Hopefully it lasts.

Contractors is now just built around of a community of fantastic mods and the devs are literally embracing all of it and it's the best possible thing ever

6:00 Yup, it's an STG. Most if not all guns from the original trilogy are actually props of weapons from WW2 with some random pieces of metal attached, which I think is really neat.
That's why it didn't make any sense to me when people got mad there was a modified Ak-47 in Andor. Like, half the weapons and items in star wars are just kitbashed.

I don't know if you're just choosing to be dumb or not, but kids have been playing FPS games since Doom, and tons of kids play VR.

Literally had that experience in this very mod my first time with a squeaker in the lobby saying hella sus stuff. You def shouldn’t be playing a game you can’t LEGALLY buy so who’s credit card info are you using to commit fraud ?

I had it for ages, and I was stunned by the mods when I came back.
They even have Cod zombies now, like actual Cod zombies. Right now it's only a test map, which gets updated pretty often, but they're working on actual Cod Zombie maps like Kino and Ascension. Lately they've been working on getting the mechanics as accurate as possible. Stuff like game-end screens, going down and reviving others, all the details you can think of.
Can you play this on quest 2?
For a guy that just wanted to play some games and make some videos, you sure turned out to be a great ambassador for VR, Modding and the smoothest of brains.
The emotional reaction you had to the ODST map is how I'm feeling right now. Playing BF2 at my neighbor's in elementary is one of my happiest memories, and I'm greatly lamenting my inability to play this game.
VR is reaching a Peak that I never want to cease.

contractors and pavlov are basically the skyrim of vr. keeping people together almost entirely through mods.
And both skyrim and pavlov are janky and buggy lol but there still both amazing 😅

I actually bought this game just to play this mod. And it was great when I first played it like a week ago. It's SOOOOO cool to see all of these old maps in such a scale. I had a lot of fun

@@Steven-qe5fp there is matchmaking thankfully. I had the same concern as you, but don't worry. You will just see it in the normal server browser and when you click join, it will download the mod for you
at first i was laughing at the "nostalgia" he mentions because while the maps looked familiar it felt just a bit different when seeing it in first person, but then i realized what map he was on at 6:12 and my guys, i started crying.

Making the HUD look like the inside of the helmet would make this even more cool. Though it'd probably have to be made toggleable somehow in case some people don't want it.
Just look how far contractors has come at fist it was known for the vr game you could slid in and that was it and as soon as It got mod support it was known for halo and now Star Wars. Adding mods to this games was the best thing they could have done .

By far my favorite vr moment was: playing Pavlov with a bunch of randoms in ttt
An old cod map came up in the rotation and as soon as we loaded into the game , a guy looks around and said "whoa. I know this map." Then he found me and explained that he worked on that cod game and worked on making the section of road that we were standing on

(5:56) That really looks like an STG because it is an STG with extra bits slapped on. In fact almost every blaster in Star Wars is just a real life firearm with little sci-fi bits slapped on. The blaster used by Storm Troopers and Clone Troopers are modified Sterling SMGs and Han Solo's DL-44 is a Mauser C96 with a scope and special barrel, for example.

As someone who played Star Wars Battlefront games in the early 2000's religiously, this would be awesome to see in VR.
I am so happy that this exists. I grew up with the old battlefront games and knowing i can now experience them in VR is just mind blowing to me.
Cory yelling "I AM CLONE" reminds me of when i downloaded a skeleton mod for blade and sorcery put on the skin looked in the mirror and yelled "I'M BONES!!!!"

I can tell that the maps were ripped straight out if either StarWars Battlefront (2004) or StarWars Battlefront 2 (2005) and I love it.

Im loving these early years of vr. Cant wait to see where it ends up in the future, but vr right now is a mixture of a few solid games with AAA polish and the rest just feels like gmod with really fun/solid physics and interactivity
I used to play bf2 non stop on my psp. To see the maps again in all their glory is something else.

The original battlefront was so much fun as a kid. I probably barely played it for like ten hours because I just played at my friend's house and then he got an Xbox and we moved on to Halo, but damn those few hours were fun.
Also I just want to say that the new weapon handling really shows when you take the batteries out of the blasters. There's this slight resistance that just makes it feel so good. It's awesome.

I love this game mode, but the thermal detonators are an absolute menace. The beeping sound is singed into my mind from 10 at a time being thrown down a hallway or spawning in on top of one that someone dropped on a spawn point

Oh believe me, i’ve had a hell of a time playing this mod! Strategizing and sort of role-playing like a clone trooper really helps boost morale in the games. It’s bad ass

squadrons has been done, so dirty... but tales from galaxy's edge is an amazing vr experience so if we were to have those mechanics mixed with OG battlefront.... that's be amazing
