    I pulled up on the side of a moorland road a few days ago after filming elsewhere and decided to test the range with mine here in the UK.
    Mini 3 pro with RC-N1 controller, flew over 1500m just 10m high before losing two bars went up to 50m high to get them back and hit over 2800 before losing 3 bars. I still had full control of the drone so took it up to 120m and got full signal back until I hit a staggering 4182m! Where it dropped down to two bars but again still had full control with no lag, that's a CE model here in the UK, no FCC hack or parabolics etc.
    Took a few pictures of the valley below that I never expected to see and returned to home point.
    If you know the moorland here in the UK you'll know it's pretty desolate with barely a sole around and certainly no interference from cell phone masts etc.

    Thanks for sharing this video, I have seen a video that appears to show signal strength is stronger when the drone is facing away from the remote compare to when the drone is facing the remote control (can demonstrate this when you turn the drone around 180 degrees to face you compare to signal strength when it is facing away from you). Maybe something to do with the position/orientation of the antennas inside the drone?

    I have owned the mini 3 pro with the RC controller since release on the 17 may and I havent experienced much issues with connection loss .. only once have the drone lost connection to the controller and started to return to home but I was 1.6 km away and after 8 sec it reconnected .. I dont tend to fly my drone very far away so when people say that they only can get the drone to go 3 km away and it is not good enough I think it is a bit silly .. sure if you cant even get 300 m away before loosing signal it is a issue but that is not the case in my experience, hopefully dji will come up with upgrades for the drone with software updates
    I feel that the mini 3 pro is a MASSIVE upgrade for me since I came from a mini 1 .. that drone was not very fun to fly far away and it would loose signal even within 100 m sometimes! .. Still I loved my mini 1 since it was my first drone ever .. so for me the mini 3 pro with the RC controller feels like a huge upgrade

He was flying in a remote area of Scotland which is probably free from any strong transmissions from cell phone towers ETC. Thanks for an interesting comparison of normal and flight mode operation. The dji drones broadcase on 2.4 and 5.8 ghz. Bluetooth is generally at 2.45 ghz so there is the potential for bleed over in the 2.4 to 2.45 bands. All antennae have a broadcast pattern (i have no idea of what the dji radiation patterns look like) and it's possible based on your orientation between your receiver and broadcaster antennae you will move in an out of areas just based on orientation where the signal is weaker. I predominatly fly non dji fpv systems any my radio/telemetry link runs at 915Mhz and I almost never run into signal interferance however my video is broadcast at 5.8Ghz and it's common to see intermittant signal break up, even in remote places far away from civilization.

    Hi Henrick, I had a connection loss today with my Mini 2 with no warning just came up red and said connection lost. I had no video to see what was happening so I just had to wait and see if it came home, but it didn't. So I tracked it on the map and found it 400 mts away hanging in a tree with no damage at all. It was my own fault because today I was going to fly down along the river so I set my RTH to only 15 mts high because I did not want it to go to high up where there was trees hanging but then I could see all the power lines swinging down from my place so I put my drone up to see what was happening and did not reset my RTH height and I live in jungle so it only climbed to 15 mts and headed home until it hit a tree. But what I wanted to know is where I can find the screen recording of the flight to have a look at to see what happened. I found it once before but now I can't remember where to find it. Thanks.

    A great video, yet again concerning range limitations on the mini 3.
    Not yet owning a mini 3, I would like to put forward this theory which might explain some of the limitations in range. This theory is based on my previous training as an electronics technician.
    With DJI, encapsulating the antenna on the DJI RC the unit itself could be causing a loss of signal strength with some of the transmitted RF signal been reflected inside the RC. I draw a similarity between the DJI RC and cheap Wifi Routers (often supplied by Telcos). Both of these have internal antenna and connection problems with Wifi routers can be seen in your home. When compared with high end Wifi routers, ( those with external antenna) wifi connection and speed are often increased in the home.
    To prove this theory, it would require someone with a second RC controller to modify it and replace the internal antenna with external antennas in a similar fashion to the RC Pro and the mavic mini 1 MR1SS5 controller.
    I think having the external antenna will improve the overall range, and users will have fewer signal drop outs and disconnections

    • @glm-mediaworld
      @glm-mediaworld 2 года назад

      This is not only a problem of Mini 3 Pro, but everyone had to be clear by now that DJI (in EU) has throttled the signal. At the moment, some Yuneec models have more range (stability) than DJI, not to mention that a test against any Autel model here would only negatively affect the DJI Mavic 3, Air 2S and Mini 3. Of course, the internal antenna is a loss of signal have this also minimal.

      @@TheDeadlyraptor Forgot to mention that I tried to go through their Chat line and told them this very thing regarding the number of users across both Contents having this issue and that some us may never experience it because we do not fly long distance and all the came back with is that they will be there to help when the time comes.
