Since replacing the Oil Separator, has your oil consumption/burning stopped?
I have a 14 VW Passat 1.8 TSI just like you. I add 1L of oil every 1,000 miles. I am now considering to change the oil separator as you mentioned this to be the issue.

You need to buy a spark plug coil removal tool, it would prevent your coil from being torn up.

I have a 2015 beetle 1.8t with 51k just now. I started to get only about 198-200 miles out of a full tank of gas. I normally don't go but just past the 1/4 mark. I don't go into the red. It just started to get bad kinda fast. But I had the ECM recall update done. That's when I seemed to have the gas mileage issue. I've contacted the dealership that did it twice and they say that that had nothing to do with the fuel system. It runs great. No code's. Now after researching, I know that the plugs need to be done. Would the plugs make it what seemed to me start to get bad mileage?

I changed them myself with no experience, a 10mm socket(deep head), magnetic spark plug socket(Amazon for $11), socket wrench, that’s all I used not difficult at all

      Ryu Yamakawa every 40k miles

All of the gasoline direct injection engines need fresh plugs more often. They need to burn clean. 100k miles is way too long. I would not do coils until about 90-100k miles (second plug change) unless I was having an issue. Audi has an upgraded coil that works very well in the 1.8t motors.
