sorry. I am from Dayton and its not just downtown Dayton, LOL Its the entire Dayton city area. Third street. Salem Ave. Main Street. Five Oaks Area. Dayton View. Riverview Ave, Gettysburg Ave. All around Grandview hospital, Around Miami Valley Hospital Its a tad bit better near University of Dayton. You will be amazed how opposite these areas were 30 plus years ago. I joined the Army in 1989 and Once I experienced different cities from being the US Army. I only come home to visit family, Dayton used to an amazing nice looking city. The homes on Grand Ave, Harvard, Lexington, Superior, Cambridge, Neal, Five Oaks, and many other parts of Dayton were extremely beautiful in the 70s and 80s and now they are deteriorated, abandoned, and falling apart which is an absolute shame.
West Dayton has earned it's reputation honestly. Period.
"You do have 4 seasons here." True! And that's all just in 1 week!
You mean in one day right?
@@wastool more like in a 5 hour span.
Seriously have you noticed a certain group of middle Easterns owning all the Ohio State Lottery Retail Licensince. And upper ranking law enforcement officials also of the same group of middle Eastern employees, mainly Jordanian 's.The Outer Circle is their Raqueteering International Name here in Middle Eastern, Ohio ❤
I'm originally from the Northridge area. I used to love it as a kid, but the uptick in crime caused my family to relocate.
My dad used to live there he said it was nice, but now its white trash.
It should be "Why Choose Us," not "Why Choice Us."
Fairborn's crime & safety a C+?
Seriously??? There is literally no crime in Fairborn. Who the hell is making these rankings??
Lol yes there is...
How do you figure that Fairborn is one of the 8 worst cities to live... Fairborn is a small quiet town and it has nice sections. You're going to find good and bad in most towns even Centerville or Beavercreek. I'm very familiar with both areas.
dayton is having a wonderful come back im so proud of dayton.. after we took a hard hit from no jobs to drugs to tornado we are doing so much better now thank you for sharing this video
Dayton is a Top 5 Murder Capital...'So much better' ??
LOLOLOLOL. I was there at Christmas, depressing, OVERCAST the entire time, very little to do, restaurants and bars with the lights turned WAY UP. I honestly have no idea how anyone lives there without kids to occupy all their time. I'm glad I grew up there but VERY glad I left!!
You sound delusional.
“Why choice us ?” 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Just bought a townhouse a block away from the Dayton Dragons sradium... great area and it's in the throws of rebuilding and improving... schools not a concern being retired. Lots of activites within walking distance.
downtown dayton is sketchy asf💀
As someone who grew up in the Greater Dayton region, I can confidently say that neither Kettering or downtown Dayton should be on this list. For the latter, I actually think you mean "west Dayton." Regardless, anytime someone with a family asks me where to move to in that region, I recommend Kettering. (However, Trotwood, Huber Heights and Fairborn absolutely belong on this list.)
Also, you may want to bifurcate your recommendation videos into "have children and need schools" and "childless." There are some areas in any city that would be great for single people or empty nesters that wouldn't work for families due to their need for a good school district.
"Why choice us?".....!?!?!
The list makes sense. I live in Kettering but will have to say the neighborhoods closer to I675 are slightly better for low crime - it would be interesting to see some stats for the sections of Kettering
Kettering imported hundreds of blacks after Hurricane Katrina. With that came all of the baggage. You can imagine...
Good to know!
Kettering is so pocketed. A lot of really really nice areas but some parts are not the greatest I can understand it being on this list. The parks around kettering are very nice though
Bruh kettering is awesome what are you talking about
@@arandompersononyoutubewith4931 I live in kettering and it is nice. In fact, I wouldn't want to live elsewhere around here. That being said, around Smithville, Wilmington in certain areas, Indian Ripple and Woodman are a bit sketchier than other parts of Kettering. But it is very nice in other parts.
West Carrollton is just a super poor area sadly
I agree, Near West Dayton is a little Flint and was totally drug infested , but over the last 10 years have made some progress for the better. Near East Dayton is drug infested, but at least has an economy whereas West Dayton less economic activity.
I moved here from nyc and I stay in Kettering into a 2 bedroom apartment ..the area is quite but the only thing is.. there is nothing out in this area..you have to drive
Roland I’m from Nyc and coming out there next week to look at some properties. You have time to

I’m actually moving to right under fort McKinley like 5 cm under the map where it says fort McKinley should I carry a knife around?
Germantown, I wonder how this website is giving them a C for crime not much goes on in Germantown.
Germantown is a beautiful, historic town.
What about the Front Street art galleries area?
I was born and raised in Dayton Ohio still live here why isn't your channel called live everywhere but Dayton Dayton isn't all that bad go live in Chicago or Gary Indiana or Baltimore yeah Dayton has its ghettos but this is my home and I'm from Old North Dayton would you rank that
old north dayton is trash
Germantown is not Dayton, Five oaks is not downtown. Huber Heights is the most overrated suburb in Dayton with small overpriced ranch houses with one car garages, terrible traffic and people that are rude as hell. You couldn’t donate me a house out there
Being Born and raised in West Dayton I would be offended if this video wasn’t true.
However it’s as accurate as accurate can be😄 I just wish it included more cities like Vandalia Miamisburg Centerville but I understand the focus of the video with the eight worst
Since when did Cornell Heights and Greenwich Village be included in the downtown Dayton area. Xenia Avenue and Huffman area East 5th, can be considered downtown Dayton also it's definitely some high crime areas in those Westside neighborhoods but also the Eastside neighborhood can be rough also but just as equal on the east side
Thank you so much, I’m pcing with my wife in a couple months
What about north Riverdale area?
if you wouldve said Englewood I wouldve prolly popped off bc its really nice, but this list makes alot of sense
Hi, I own a house in trotwood area. I Fixed that house and now it's in a good shape. I am currenly live in Montgomery county Maryland about 35 Minutes from Washington DC. My parents live in Centerville OH and i was thinking to move there but i am a little bit worry now to move there after I wached this video.
You’re worried about moving to Centerville and you own a house in Trotwood? Interesting
Hello, I don't live in Trotwood, but I do pass through on a regular basis. Trotwood used to have some real issues. Those problems were centered around the Salem mall area. The city tore down the mall. A shame because that was a beautiful mall. I won't claim that the problems have completely gone, but they are making an effort to improve the area and it has had an impact.
I have a friend living in that area of Maryland. The things she has told me make it clear to me that if I were you, I'd be moving to Trotwood. There is no comparison between the two areas. I hope that helps in you in making this decision. Either way best of luck to you.
@@j.r.warren5794 thank you so much for your advise.
@@egcadventures1138 Not a problem. Hope it helps.
What worries you about Centerville? You don’t like good schools, nice neighborhoods, and low crime?
Isn't Dayton it's own city? Does he mean neighborhoods? Your outsider perspective already sucks.
I want to start a company
I think you mispronounced “Greenwich Village” around 11:45 of your video.
Thank you for your video. I lived in West Carrollton for 11 years; I’m not surprised to see it listed here. I am surprised to see Kettering listed, though; I always liked Kettering.
Kettering does have a few problems spots
My family moved out of Dayton in 1971 because our middle class closely knitted neighborhood in Greenwich Village was rapidly turning into a trashy ghetto. The new home my parents purchased for $17,500 in 1961 is now worth $42k. It’s now an unfit place to raise a family. My old neighborhood is an epicenter for drugs and crime. I raised my family in Illinois, safe away from the trashy city I once lived in.
Thumbs down
Dude you are DELUSIONAL if you think Dayton is cool in any way! I grew up there (Oakwood/Centerville) went to HS in Kettering. I was just there for a week and returned to NYC yesterday. Dayton is more depressing than ever, grey skies for nearly 6 of my 7 days, the food is a joke there, BRIGHTLY lit sports bars all with either football, NASCAR or Fox on one of the 200 TV sets; nothing to do, thank god there was a Flyer game to attend. When the last of my family is gone (and that will likely be within the next two years) I'll never go back. That makes me sad but I was sadder seeing what's happened to a once fun and vital city. Good god it's terrible there!!
I lived in the Oakwood bubble for a handful of years in the 1980s, first job at Dorothy Lane Market, learned to drive there, first lay in one of the large estates near the DCC, etc... I've been back one time since then and would move back to Oakwood tomorrow, great high school for my kids.
the story of my life, growing up in Dayton 🙌
The problem is, you grew up in yuppie world. Stay in New York.
@@H0neybaby_23 LOL. I GREW UP in Dayton, wisely moved to New York. Try and pay attention. Fool.
I wish I had the money to move back to ny..but it's a better life out here..for my 2kids and me
Tool…….
Thanks for watching Bill!
Dayton is awful
