I'm a Native of Dayton, I grew up in Centerville. I've lived abroad and have traveled extensively. My current total of countries visited stands at 168 countries. And I tell EVERYONE, I call Dayton, "The Dayton Dump" and for good reason. It's actually the 2nd Worst places I have ever lived. #1 on My worst places to live is Naples, Italy. Just when I thought nowhere in the world, could be worse than living in Dayton. I get stationed for 2 years in Naples 😢. Since I am being straightforward, I would caution people moving to Centerville because a segment of the population from the Westside of Dayton are starting to rent apartments here in Centerville. Centerville's Crime rate has risen in the last 2 years, because of Societies derelicts moving over here from the WESTSIDE of Dayton. I would Tell people if you are looking to avoid these types, I would move to Beavercreek because they don't allow the Public Transportation, specifically the RTA Buses to run in their neighborhoods because they DON'T want to become DARK like Centerville!!

Great schools, wonderful library-- all within walking distance! One community pool-- right behind you!

This year rent and housing in Vandalia and the Dayton area has almost doubled!

I was born & raised in loveland Ohio. I love it here in springboro Ohio. No traffic, schools are amazing police are wonderful. Love my neighbors. Everyone is friendly not in a rush. All the stores you can imagine within 10 to 15 minutes from us. Best place Iv ever lived!! I will never leave unless I have to. ❤

Kettering , Miamisburg , Englewood, Vandalia are affordable and desirable residential communities.

Lived in Dayton for 9 yrs. My son was born near Dayton (Xenia). Worked as a Medical Lab Scientist. I attended Wright State University. Worked at Kettering Network. I met some good friends and I was ok with the smaller town feel. I do not party but found things to do.

Lived there in 1989 and loved it. Then moved to Waynesville (Ohio) and loved it too! I love Ohio! Wish I could leave Calif and move back again!!!

How do you figure that Fairborn is one of the 8 worst cities to live... Fairborn is a small quiet town and it has nice sections. You're going to find good and bad in most towns even Centerville or Beavercreek. I'm very familiar with both areas.

Interesting. I found this vid when I was moving to the area, which I'd never been to, for a job in Beavercreek. Now I've lived in Beavercreek for 2 1/2 years, and someone's comment drew me back to this vid. I'd say he's mostly rightish about Beavercreek, the schools are good because it's a better-off bedroom community where the houses are either new or pretty big. There are a couple of malls, but I'd hardly say there's "lots to do" here. And because of the industrial parks, the restaurants here are more geared for exec and engineers at lunch than upscale dinners. Most Beavercreekians end up driving 15 minutes to Centerville or downtown to find any evening/weekend fun. But a running gag in the whole Dayton area is, "What do you do for fun in Dayton? Drive to Cincinnati!" Something I'd add to what this vid said is that the weather here is unpredictable but better than most of the Midwest. Whenever a big nasty cold windy system blasts through the area, the Dayton area seems to just catch the edge or petered-out end of it.

You literally named all south/southeast towns with the exception of Tipp. Kettering, Englewood, West Milton, Eaton, Greenville are just a few you missed. This is why you should always pick a realtor that knows the whole area.

My family and other Families got out before crack Cocaine Started and the Heroin Epidemic and the Horrible crime that those drugs Cause. NEVER LOOK BACK. I am glad Dayton is Changing after all the Death and Destruction.
