There is no problem with made in China. All standards meet EU/US requirements. Moreover, the EV line-ups will be built in Europe and US in the next few years.
Why? It's going to be made in the USA but Volvos made in the USA aren't doing as well as those made in China. In fact, though Volvo doesn't make many cars in China, the Chinese built ones do a bit better than the European ones, where most are built (Sweden or Belgium). The design and engineering is almost mostly done in Sweden with some input from California.
