What people that complain about these sidelines don't appreciate is that without the world building, the mainline story suffers. The Donovan Desmond intro is reason enough to make this one of the more important arcs.

Thanks for the video.
Personally, I think focusing on different areas (characters & situations) gives more depth to the story. I haven't been disappointed yet, so I believe there's a purpose behind this "flashback" episode that will pay off later.

This arc is so unexpected but it’s such a good way to do world building through characters. They could have dumped this in some exposition dialogue but this is so much better.

Started getting back into spy family two days ago and started at chapter 1 and now I’m cought up. So let’s see if you will be the channel I watch after every “mission”

Probably won't be too many more chapters the way its going. I did enjoy the worldbuilding as that is crucial to understanding Operation
Strix, which is the central objective of the series so far.

I love those sorts of scenes in this story because it grounds the story back from the ridiculous to the serious nature of the missions.
