If you go soc dem, Germany can end up pretty close to the Federal Republic, just with a bit more state intervention in the economy and more territory.
You even get one of the OTL chancellors as leader.

The Franks spanned over north-eastern France and western and middle Germany.
The majority of their early realm was in modern Germany and the Netherlands.
The Franks were considered a germanic tribe which adopted elements of the language from the celto-roman tribes they replaced and originated in modern westphalia, spreading to the aforementioned regions.
They conquered almost all of modern Germany, Benelux and France, and have splintered multiple times (Austrasia, East and West Francia) and [Burgundy, Lotharingia, Francia, Frisia etc).
Before the 800s there was not much of a cultural/linguistic disperity between the frankish/germanic nations, yet they have seperated and evolved on their own eventually, similar to how the netherlands split off from the german nations of the HRE and evolved into their own.

I have been watching this mod since it's alpha phase, I think it is great and just needs more work put into it. Also Alex, play "My Road to 56" not THE road, MY Road, it is different.
