Back in the days when I used to DJ dances at my high school, I had 2 of these amps running my system. 1 to power 2 Cerwin Vega Earthquake subs and the other to power 2 sets of Yorkville Elite double 15" units. Output was absolutely incredible. Downsides are that 20 years later, I'm dealing with hearing loss lol. But it was worth it.😂

Max, I think you're right. The airflow is a problem. Look at the "dust filter" and you get an idea how much or rather how little cool air went in through that fan.

That is the most crammed and optimistic thermal design I have ever seen.

I used 4 of the audio pro 3400 amps for years with 4 ohm speakers driving them just about peak for hours straight and never did have one over heat. But saying that i did have one shoot flames out the back do to condensation build up.

The real problem is the lack of use of standard ring terminals when connecting the outputs to the binding posts. The twisted wire would never
have occurred with the use of a ring terminal connection. Lots of heat sinking, and all the transistors are metal cased rather than silicon, so they not only have higher heat capability, but they act as a heat sink themselves.

I really like the heat sink design, but they should have gone with 2 or more front mounted fans. if its fits to a server rack, why not build it like a rack server? :)

Is that styrofoam on your walls?
If it is you should remove it or cover with drywall..styrofoam is extremely flamable..

Hi!

"Audiopro" amplifier -> does not even have speakon outputs :P

this amp, made in canada, sounds probably better than most of the modern "professional" china amps with speakon outputs?!? I think binding posts is the better (lower resistance) output terminal.

@ Martin: The BSS amps are amazing!! I have seen them once, in a Turbosound setup that has played on a Reinhard Fendrich Tour in the early 2000s.

@robomix: Yes, binding posts are indeed lower resistive, if done correctly. Speakon terminals are of course more convenient. I used to add Speakon terminals to old amps, like the Zeck A-400, but then ended up in permanently installing cable adapters, that are fixed to the chassis with cable clamps.

It was more or lest just a joke :P Speakons appeared arround 1995, so if this amp is made arround that year or earlyer, binding posts are perfectly fine
