Me too, and I’m not even a baseball fan. This was amazing. They were amazing. It was amazing. I’ll never forget it and am thrilled I was still in Seattle at the time. Born and raised there. Griffey had the most graceful swing I’ve ever seen.
Classic. I was there. In the centerfield cheap seats, it was actually a great view of the pitcher/hitter battle. This game is incredible, but this series was something out of a Hollywood movie script. Just unbelievable …
Great video!! I remember being there with my dad and how crazy that place rocked especially when we saw Randy Johnson walk out to the bullpen and pitch the 9th,10th,& 11th innings. Just magic
You lucky sob!!! I was watching at home, and it was something,. YOU guys did a great job, cheering for all of us who couldn’t be there, and for yourselves. Thank you, for making us all so proud. Seattle has the best fans in the country, for all sports.
I watched this sucker, on tv. Pins and needles. And then…exhilaration. It was so fun. I came home from work, early, for some reason, fresh outta college, making $8.50 an hour, parked myself on my mom’s bed and we watched it together. Norm was beloved, and Randy, was just a badass.
I just commented on that before I read this. I was at those games with my dad and remember who crazy the place got watching the Big Unit walk out to the bullpen in game 5!! Truly a magical season.
The only thing Dave got wrong on that last call was Griffey. "There going to wave him in". Griffey said he was going for home the entire way. Still an bone chilling ending. I wish there was better video of Griffey running the entire time. I really miss Dave.
Joey Cora should been out for jumping outside the baseline to advoid the tag from mattingly I saw that game even mattingly said he jumped outside the baseline should have been mattingly year even 1994 mattingly should got a ring but the strike killed that but Joey cried against the Indians
Actually very far from irrelevant. The Kingdome was built on the cheap and only after 20 years was falling apart. The Mariners had never been in the playoffs before and winning the ALDS influenced tax averse Washington residents and their government enough to fund a new stadium in Seattle. Without their success, the team would've been sold to an ownership who would've moved them out of the state. If you want to learn more about what happened, you should watch Secret Base's part 2 of the history of the Mariners from 11:00 and part 3
Props for putting Dave’s call for the final double; His call was the best! RIP
went looking for this comment...well summarized...
He even predicted exactly what would come next, incredible, Niehaus was the best !!!
Wow you can tell this was one of the best games to attend ever.
It's been 25 years, and I STILL get goosebumps watching this!
I’m an Indians fan and I get goosebumps from this. Bc fuck the Yankees lol.
I just saw this for the first time! Incredible!

It's been said already but thank you for adding Dave's call.
Johnson comes in, closes the side, then strikes out the entire next side. I miss watching him play.
Have seen more than one interview where opposing players said they truly feared having to bat against him.
Imagine if they kept The Big Unit. Then maybe Griffey doesn’t leave. Pretty sure A-Rod would’ve been gone either way.
The “Double” call. Greatest call ever heard. R.I.P. Dave Niehaus.
Wow Wow Wow ! Greatest Mariner game ever !
Griffey scoring from first on Edgar's double was as good as it gets
So true…I still get chills.

Damn 8.50 an hour 95? Working from n college? That was a good pay then for a college kid. That was exactly double minimum wage in 1995
Big unit, the bone, mo, edgar, ken jr, a rod, mattingly, paulie, tino, boggsy and coney are in the same game. Good old days!
And remember Tino was a Mariner back then. The Mariners meat of the lineup was Griffey,Edgar,A-Rod,Buhner,Tino Martinez
Great game! Gave me goosebumps lol
Wait you seriously skipped Randy coming out of the pen and the dome just going nuts before he blows Wade Boggs out of the box? man

Truly a magical season.
It has its own video!
No, really? That was so special.
And despite all that we never make it to the World Series.
thank you for at least putting dave on for the call
Thank you so much for posting, where did you find these????
this helped out the yankees big time!

Steve Borchard still a great call none the less
They waved him in but your right the “Kid” was flying 💯 all the way from first
I mean they did wave him in. He can’t read Griffeys mind😂
I remember exactly where I was and who I was with.
I'm a fan of any team that beats the Yankees.
Damn skippy Tex
Signed, depressed O’s fan
the move that got buck showalter fired bringing in mcdowell instead of his closer wettland

I will forever hate the Seattle Mariners because of this series.
...and then they lost to Cleveland, making this game irrelevant.
Far from irrelevant
@@nolankahler6705 I don't understand Cleveland Stans

You clearly don’t know anything about the history of this team. This series kept them in Seattle
Pooor Yankees
Mariners World Series haha. Pfft
