Just found your channel a few days ago. Thank you for showing a view into yours and your families life. I plan to retire to PH in about 15 years if not sooner. It's very helpful to get a idea of what to not only expect but to look forward to. Thank you for always being a cheerful host while inviting us all into your lives.
Thank you very much for your wonderful words! I'm happy that you found my channel interesting and that it gave you insights into living in the Philippines. I appreciate your support and I'm excited for your retirement plans. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
Americans coming to the philippines, know your level of living! You need at least 1500.00 usa dollars a month! A nice place in the philippines will cost over 20,000 pesos a month, or more! I am living in the philippines now! Be aware!
Hahaha 😂 all these yanks that need their comforts of back home.
What a laugh!
@@kiwipinos you are 100% correct my friend.. I am in my late sixties and I was born and raised in Southern Louisiana.. the heat and humidity is much hotter in during the summer in Southern Louisiana then it is in the Philippines.. when I was younger I worked in the heat and I played in the heat and it never bothered me but in my older age the heat does bother me.. paying a couple hundred dollars a month for air conditioner is no problem for me in Louisiana or the Philippines.. yes sir I have to have my creature comforts..hehe.. big screen TV hooked to the internet and a really comfortable easy chair and a big kitchen to cook some good Louisiana food. When I was younger I raced motorcycles and had several motorcycles I would ride on the highway.. at my age I have lost lots of my agility and my ability to react to situations on the highway so I quit riding motorcycles on the highway about 15 or 20 years ago.. after I arrived I will buy a nice little car with air conditioner that gets good gas mileage.. whatever house I rent I will also install a portable bathtub and if I had that house I would put a hot tub on the balcony.. yes my friend I am a spoiled old Western American man but I ain't no Yankee.. I have nothing against Yankees because we are all brothers and sisters but people from the deep South do not like being called Yankees.. Yankees are the people that live above the Mason-Dixon line it's what we call them in America....hehe.. I wish you and everyone else good health and lots of happiness 👌👍🤗😎🍺🍻😁 and yes my friend in Southern Louisiana we eat alligator and lots of boiled crawfish that are in season now🦞🦞🦞🫕🫕🫕🐊🐊🐊🐊🍺🍻😁👍👌🤗😎
I live in US in Tennessee on less than 1600 USD. You can live in 80% of the world on low income. The issue is what your lifestyle is. Most western people can not live on what I live on. I even purposely lived in a storage metal building with no insulation for over 1 year for 35 USD a month to save for my 2019 trip to Philippines. That is extreme but for me I can do extreme. Also both in Philippines and Thailand I stayed with someone with no rent because the place was paid for. I helped pay food at grocery, gas for trips and utilities at both places and it was not much money.

What's wrong with wanting to retire in comfort?
We are willing to accept the sacrifice of living with the lower costs.
Trading lower rents for a budget that allows Aircon, hot water and other comforts is pretty understandable.
Rents in the US can eat up 3/4 of someone's monthly income.
Doing the math isn't hard.
Nevertheless. There's a balance. Some sacrifices are too big.
@@franktaylor7617 nothing. If you can afford it, be comfortable. If a nipa hut in the province is your dream, then enjoy.
Honestly, I think this hater is just trolling (which I respect). He's probably the youngest in his family and is a born shit talker. It's our cross to bear.
Congratulations! 🎉🎈🍾 on your new place. Great value
Congratulations on your nice home. You are blessed to have a very nice house in a world where there are many millions of homeless people, including in the U.S. God bless.
Well done Mia! Thank you! Great price and beautiful home!
Ang ganda ng lugar diyan Mia! Thank you for sharing. Ako si Mike and I was stationed in Subic Bay habang ng serve ako sa US Navy. Maraming salamat uli!
p10,000 = $180, not $280. If it had been $280 I would have found it too expensive because the rooms are very small, no place for a dining area inside, and I would definitely require a hot and cold shower in the main bathroom. For $180 I think it is a fair price.
Nice price. Apartment looks a bit like a prison with the barbed-wire and concrete but I guess you get what you pay for.
I agree. But some houses in the neighborhood don't have that style.
That was a great marvelous tour. It has been 1991 since I lived in the Philippines 🇵🇭 at Clark Air Base. I am getting close to retirement age. Planning on using the Philippines 🇵🇭 sponsored American military 🪖 veteran Visa. Great information on moving to the Philippines 🇵🇭. Thank you so much.
You always have such an Enchanting smile while hosting your Videos, Salamat*
HEHE thank you!
Mia, thanks for the tour. Only $280.00 monthly, wow. To put it in perspective, I live in Clermont, Florida or Central Florida my electric bill is about $266.00 per month.
If you have an wctric bill that high each month, you must not have a heat pump. Make the switch and you'll be amazed.
While rental apartments are a good deal when you throw in transportation, food, visa fees, resort fees from using their facilities and higher prices for everything else since it's imported you may find it all equals out after all.
@Matthew Graham. Something wrong with your rhetorical system. I live in Lake County, in Tavares and pay $180 in the summer running AC 24/7. I work from home also.
@@PaleRider54 I have a heat pump, heavy insulation it's just the size of the house.
@@dumaguetedreaming good point.
Your family has a very nice home. Thank you so much for sharing!
Given how cheap rents are and the cost of living, do you know why hotels are so expensive in the Philippines? Compared to other neighbouring countries (Malaysia, Thailand, etc), hotels there are terrible value.
There might be several reasons for the Philippines' high hotel charges. High demand for tourists, restricted competition among hotels in some places, and the high cost of hotel operations and maintenance are all possible reasons. Furthermore, certain hotels may target higher-end guests and provide luxury services, which can push up pricing.
Thank you for posting this video of you and your husband's new home, Mia. The place looks awesome; it really shows that a simple life provides for a beautiful existence, especially when you have the one you love, and family.
You are most fortunate.
Questions: what city is this in? (This is the first video I've seen of yours.) What are the costs for the utilities you mentioned? (In Pesos is fine, I can do the math!)
And thank you for being a breath of fresh air in the world!
1st dz words in her description: "Curious about what a typical 3-bedroom property for rent in Dumaguete,..."
what a great price, considering moving to the PH i would love to have something like that.!!
Thank you for your nice video Mia. I always enjoy watching your videos. Home is what you make it. I am sure you and hubby will make it nice. If after a year you want something different, you can always look around for something with a bigger kitchen and better couch:). I have seen Expats in the Philippines making many moves to different houses and locations. Not unusual.
Yes I noticed the kitchen is small with not much bench space for meal prep. But otherwise a nice house, I'm sure your family will be comfortable there.
Thank you very much for your nice words! I appreciate your support and am happy that you love my vids. You're correct; home is what you make it, and we'll do our best to make it beautiful. If we sense the need for a change in the future, we will look at different options. It is not unusual for expats in the Philippines to relocate several times before finding their perfect living environment. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!
It’s a nice place!
:) You make good videos. Thank you for Sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Good price, here in Metro Manila Region a tiny condo is expensive, can't wait to find a rental like this one.
Great presentation.👍
Happy for you guys hope your Happy have a wonderful day 😊
Congratulations Mia and Paul!
Thank you!
I’d move in tomorrow. Nice place for a single guy or a couple.
Cheap rental, nice house with too noisy straydogs around i prefer a condo is very safe and sound. Thanks for the great video cute and hard working lady.👍👍
Yes. Thanks for watching it.
Hi. Can you give us an update on what it would cost to rent a house in this location for 2024? How much of a deposit would be required and how do you apply?
Congratulations, on your house. Enjoyed your video and the tour. Ingat ka palagi
Thanks for watching. You too.
Hi Mia, hope you and Paul are doing great. Thank you for house rental video. Me and My girl are on the way to the Cebu Philippines in 3 days and curious of MacTan New Town condos are still a great area to live in for a few weeks. Thanks Dennis
Great job on doing your own channel. Your coming along well with talking in front of the camera....might we see '"Mia The Realtor" in the future?
Best of luck with channel.
Please place rent in PPH pesos . As we are not all Americans, this would mean more Filipinos. Have a great day, kiwi
Congratulations on your family’s move.
Thank youu
What about rent to own or mortgages for foreigners? It’s a great house and glad to hear it’s a gated community
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Nice house.
Thanks for the presentation, well done.
QUESTION: What are the most popular brands/models and cc of the motorbikes in the Philippines?
Many thanks.
Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki are the most popular motorcycle brands/models in the Philippines. The most common cc types are 125cc, 150cc, and 200cc.
@@filipinalifewithmia5208 Thank you for your response.
I've a Honda (GROM) 125cc, a Kawasaki 399cc, and a Taiwaneses-made 50cc scooter - love them all!
Greetings from south Florida.
Good Job!❤
Thank you.
Good video. It would be so much more helpful if you said what city or area. Without that the information doesn’t mean too much
Hey 🤡 look at the video description it clearly says 'Dumaguete" and if you watched any of her videos you would know that's where she is from .
Liked and subscribed, nice house!

Wow that's nice ❤ thank you for sharing ☺️
Thanks for showing us around but I will say that @ 6:06 that is definitely not a king sized bed. That's a Queen size at best
Thank you Mia.
Thank you too.
I'm just wondering, is the water problem with the supply or the drain or both?
Aiming is appreciated
This is be a good job for you working as a property manager helping Expats find housing in the Philippines...you could charge a $500 usd fee to help foreigner already have housing in the Philippines when they get there...this would be such a great idea to help people 😊
Naaah, I don't think I am capable of doing that. But that's a nice thought.
Nice Place Mia!
Thank you, Rory!
Lovely person. Husband is fortunate to have you
Very nice and pleased for you
Thank you.
It looks like a nice place
It is.
It looks like a very nice place Mia and the price is very good too. I think that little dog liked you and want to follow you up to the balcony.
Yeah, it's a really good deal.
Where is it located? Give me an idea where to look at!! Thanks!!!
the best time to move to the philippines was 10 -20 years ago. its not what it used to be. if you are not there now dont bother planning on retiring there.
Mia you're looking good. The house is nice. Good to see you take care
Thank you, Mike. Yep, it's a beautiful house.
That was really nice tour. The house it's really nice for that money ........I mean for people who can afford at I know in there salary it's not much for working class but for us it's really good Deal
Thanks. Yah, I agree.
Thank you for this video
Thank you for watching!
Thank you Mia for such an informative vlog about your nice cheap priced House . I hope to find a cute Filipina girl like you when i come to Phillipines to Live 😊
Mia, I would be interested in 2-bedrooms with everything on one floor. I did email you.
Wow is this your new place beautiful nice ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, it is.
Thanks for the tour. Where can you cook and store pots and pans? No counter nor cubberbs. I'd prefer pay more and have hot water and a more quiet environment.
Hmmm, well, we'll have to find a way to store our pots and pans. Maybe build a small cabinet for that.
This is definitely not in Manila? Where is this beautiful home 🏡 located?
Happy Sunday 😊
Thanks! Have a great day!
Do you think foreigners could get that place for the same price? No skin tax?
Yes, I am sure.
Where in the Philippines is this? What city?
Mia, where is the location of the house if you don’t mind me asking? Thank you …
I dont want to leave in Duma sadly. There are vloggers on every corner I will never get any peace!
I actually spent a month before I spotted one but I am pretty busy and prefer to eat in locally owned non-expat businesses.
Nice House , but what baranguy & city is it ?
Hi ! I'm French and I have plan for going to The Philippines for my retirement next year. I have Philippinos friends in Negros near Kanlaon and my choice it's Negros Oriental . I hope that I'll find a small house to rent between Dumaguete City and Vallehermoso City. I have a good pension of retirment and I'm alone. Salamat for your vidéos and mabuhay Philippines. Greetings from France.
This is a good deal...its hard to find 3 bedroom house in the Philippines at this price
I agree. Most of the rentals now have these ridiculous prices, and they can't even rent them.
I haven’t rented a house but I have rented a condo and negotiated the rent from p30k to p20k including dues, utilities and Wi-Fi in a resort style condo in Manila. Many won’t negotiate but some will, you just have to keep trying.
New subscriber here. Look forward to watching your videos
Thanks for subbing
If you’re going to be living with a woman and she has one child, you’re going to need at least 1,800 a month to cover the bills
Why would you bring in a woman that has a kid? Men stop being weak, forge your own path and family. Don’t be apart of the clean up crew like this gump.
I interviewed my filipina. She lives on less than 600 usd per month.
@@FilipinaAndTheForeigner their lifestyle is always far cheaper when it's their money.
You look like a beautiful bride congratulations 👏 💖 💕 ✨ 💗 💓 👏
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing, looks like a great place. Lots of space for the price. I hope you and your family enjoy it.
Thanks!
someone confirm or correct me on this (in regards to expats). but I was told in the PH, you will never rarely get your deposit back but instead the landlord will let you apply it to the last months rent. how often do they not do this and scru u out of your deposit (considering you left the place the same as when you moved in).
Gated and secured community. Aka barbed wire and bars on the windows.
That's the Philippines HEHE
One of the few ovens I have seen in the Philippines. I love to bake and the top burners does not serve me well.
I would like to know what is the laws in Philippine for Americans to move there?
