"Primetime Live" Interview with Diane Sawyer - 3/17/1994
She didn’t fight in vain we’re so close to curing AIDS today for because of people like her. I hope her spirit knows she’s saved the lives of millions through her advocacy.
2019....watching RIP Elizabeth and Ariel .
I've just finished reading her book for the second time.'In The Absence of Angels '. I read it about 15 years ago as well. I finished reading it yesterday . Elizabeth mentions Ariel's birthday was on 4th August and then as I finished the book I realised it was 4th August! Happy Heavenly Birthday, Ariel. Ariel and her mother are reunited in Heaven.
R.I.P Elizabeth and Ariel. So much good work to resolve the illness, such a great team. The little girl was so touching and it made me😢 to hear of her losses. So glad that Elizabeth had such loving Friends, and a Husband who you could see was her Soul Mate and Best Friend I wish I had kept the glossy picture I had of Elizabeth and Paul in their early dating times, each in a car and gazing at each orher so fondly from behind the wheel. Sent to me by the Starsky+Hutch fan club of course❤❤
I’m pretty sure Hydeia Broadbent is the little girl who cried while signing and I’m glad to say she is still alive in 2023 and thriving!! ❤
Am so touched….. wow this is so inspiring
What a marvellous Lady you were, you gave so much to help others Thank You so much and God Bless you such a very Brave Lady and inspiration to all
Hydeia Broadbent, the black girl at the end of this video, recently passed away a few days ago at 39! She was so brave in speaking publicly about dealing with AIDS starting from a young age!
These women are the actual definition of “strong woman”.
Reading her book ‘In the absence of Angels’ I had to put it down a few times as I couldn’t see through my tears 😭. I won’t spoil it for anyone but it’s an insightful, compelling, often heartbreaking book. I felt anger at the ignorance of people but reading about Elizabeth’s perspective and grace, it made me realise these people weren’t evil of bad, just scared and ignorant. Which made the fact that education about the virus came so late and nowhere near enough enraging. As Elizabeth says, people with HIV/AIDS in the 80s and 90s were fighting a battle on two fronts-the hellish disease, and the Ignorance and vitriol of people. Growing up in such times I remember kids at school swapping the game tag for AIDS, the boys would tap each other and call out, I blame the TERRIFYING adverts which furled the fear and bigotry. I feel the Reagan administration not only failed gay people, but everyone else dealing with the virus. God bless beautiful Ariel and her wonderful mum, I am quite sure you are in paradise ❤
I have read Absence of Angels twice and watched interviews with Paul Glaser. Amazing people.
Such a wonderful woman! her book is an amazing read!
Elizabeth Glaser is so inspiring!!!! RIP Elizabeth.
I remember her from a movie.
This woman is incredible. I came across this by accident and saw a comment about the book she wrote and it ´s a must read. Well 3 weeks later I´m here finished reading ´In the absence of angels´ and I could´t put it down and I´m not a big reader. This is truly a must read for ALL. If you´re human, it applies...read it!, you´ll be happy you did.
