Didn't let his hands go enough, he's not overrated or underrated. He's exactly where he deserves to be. Boxing isn't about digging punches, it's about damage inflicted. Americans seem to forget about that, look at American judges, they somehow give American fighters the win when the rules clearly state that pressure and damage are the 2 main factors.

@@bunnyman6321I like James, one of my favorite boxers. But Toney doesn't have the power to get Mike's respect, you have to have enough power to get Mike's respect. If you don't, he's getting you out of there. Holyfield hits harder than Toney,if Holyfield was a few years younger. He would have beat Toney.

@c.antoniojohnson7114 Toney will still beat Mike. Toney make up for lack of power with Boxing ability.
Go watch Toney vs Samuel Peters. Peters hit hard and still couldn't get Toney outta there cos Toney have great Boxing ability.

@@bunnyman6321 The first Peter fight Toney clearly won, but he lost the second fight. Tyson has the same chance and is way better than Peter. You have your opinion,I have mine. I do agree with you saying boxers gave Tyson trouble,Tillis was the first to expose Mike's flaws in the early rounds when they fought, but Tyson wore him down,he would do the same to Toney. As I have said,I like Toney. He's one of my favorites. But Mike is a problem.

Prime Tyson wouldn’t even be fighting a prime Toney, who was a middleweight. Toney moved up to heavyweight 15 years into his career. Mike 15 years into his career wouldn’t have been able to handle a heavyweight Toney.

Prime Tyson vs. Prime Toney id pick Tyson. Hes just bigger and hits harder. Has cardio for days. I dont think the philly shell/counter style is very good against Mikes hard charging constant pressure.

@@maximloos3739 It could be if the dude is as slick as James Toney or Floyd Mayweather. Maybe catch him with some nice counter shots. But Tyson is Tyson. The frequency, speed and power of his shots wouod be pretty intense for a flat footed slowpaced philly shell dude. It be interesting to watch. Closest example is probably Ricky Hatton vs. Floyd Mayweather but lets be honest...Ricky aint no Tyson.

I love all 3 Toney Holyfield and Tyson..but I think Evander speaking Real here..asmuch as i truly think Toney oneof the best Boxers of his era period i cant see him having the power to bother a prime Tyson ..Holyfield met Tyson at the perfect moment and fought Tyson when his peak had passed Holyfield was an awesome Boxer with decent power and a great heart and chin..the same could be said of Toney but Tyson wouldve bulldozed through him he beat Holyfield and could withstand big punches but i really think a lot of people truly underestimate how devastating peak Tyson was with his speed combination punches and elusiveness,Mike at his best was an awesome Boxer ..just watch what boxers who actually experienced fighting and sparring with him actually say..and yes he was his own worst enemy firing Rooney was one of the biggest mistakes he made in his life

It’s logic. Toney as a HW was OK, but he does not have an all time great resume as a HW, while he was considered a great MW and SMW, but at that weight he would be too small for Tyson.
So if you take both guys in their prime, you’ve got a HW Tyson vs a SMW Toney. Tyson would have a significant size and power advantage and he would likely hurt Toney. I could be wrong, but Toney doesn’t have a major HW world title on his resume. I think he won one, but got stripped because of a failed test and the fight was turned into a NC. Toney’s win against Holyfield was a win against an older, out of prime boxer. Don’t get me wrong, it was a nice win, but not even close to what it would’ve been 5 to 10 years earlier.
