Happy to be flying with Delta again and putting my Gold Medallion status to good use.
We have just arrived from Los Angeles and our 2nd part of the journey begins.

Thanks to Gold Medallion status I was granted access free of charge to the Delta Skyclub, in both legs of my itinerary.
The lounge in the international terminal is great, featuring a full bar and decent selection of snacks. I did have a problem though trying to cook ramen as the water wasn't hot enough to fully cook them...
Boarding was a bit of a mess due to all the new policies for international travel. Temperature checks were mandatory for everyone flying and you must present your negative test result before boarding as well.
Once on the plane the service was excellent and the flight had 0 issues. It was a very enjoyable experience.

If the flight was so empty, why couldn't you get a Delta One upgrade?
I actually asked this before boarding just in case it was possible. I was quoted about USD3,000 to upgrade which is insane.
Unfortunately, even with medallion status. International flights are not eligible for upgrade to Delta One. Even if the cabin is empty.
Los Angeles New York is eligible for DeltaOne Upgrade though.
Really weird rules.
@@ShawnsTravels that's trash, I never realized that as a Delta Gold myself, I can't get a free upgrade to international business class

@@ShawnsTravels Because domestic flights are so much cheaper !! And people are paying a lot for their business / 1st class tickets for international flights !!
I have been upgraded to 1st class seats 3 times in my life randomly by luck !!! All by solely flight attendants pick !! One time on Air France in Europe & then a domestic flight from N.Y.to L.A. I believe or the other way around( I believe it was either Continental, or British Airways ),then on Delta flying to Tokyo ( Narita )from L.A.X .I was siting in my business class seat & this very very nice Japanese flight attendant approached me & asked if I wanted to sit in the 1st class as there was an empty seat !! If you dress nicely & smiling at them often & being very polite ,there's a good chance this will happen to you ,too !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
