    Crazy! The sound is super awesome! Nice low frequency bass instead of the high screaming of miniquads!
    And the autorotations are sick! Respect!

      An issue with this (since your gonna compare it to miniquads) is the lack of manueverability and speed that something like this has, the only advantage I can see for something like this is battery life.

      Jacob Davis yeah well, they are quite different worlds, that has to be said. I don’t seek for crazy speed with a fpv helicopter, but I do like improving piloting techniques , which are quite different from a quad and I love doing fpv autos. To be honest I flew quads two times, found it extremely boring.

      @@Fer84heli A heli could out fly a drone easily if pilon racing was a thing, not only are quads very inefficent but mechanicly limited because of the fixed pitch. Its really diffrent strokes for diffrent folks at the end of the day but I found in my exsperience that drone pilots are very rude and lack basic flight knollege, Its like flying with a bunch of 10 year olds. " He he he come look at my go pro fotage " sigh We had a 30ft arming zone for a 3inch drone because its " dangerous" yet the track was 10 yards away from where we were all sitting its ludicrous. I actually had one guy have ask me to buy a drone because helis are dangerous and then proceeded to short his lipo being an idiot.

    Great flying skills! So smooth! And these autorotations are great! From the footage it seems to be difficult to estimate the distance to the ground, the forward speed and the amount of altitude loss just with the FPV perspective in the autos. The wide angle makes everyting look so far away. I wonder how loong it took you to get used from line of sight to FPV or if you started right away with FPV.

    • @Fer84heli
      @Fer84heli  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! With analog FPV was indeed a bit challenging 😅. The trick was to maintain enough forward speed and smoothly cushion the last couple of meters from ground(not a real flare like you do on real ones-where it is also easier to assess right altitude to begin flare). Nowadays, with digital Fpv I find it much easier, but the trick is still valid😉.

    so a heli being able to land with autorotation during motor failure makes it safer than a quad which would fall like a brick, what do you think?

    • @Fer84heli
      @Fer84heli  Год назад +1

      Autorotations (real emergency ones I mean- not like the in the video where I had plenty altitude and the best position for entry in auto) requires A LOT of training to be successful and even then, you are never 100% sure to make it smooth and nice. They are an extreme emergency measure, and usually you never have ideal conditions when the real failure occurs…so I think the only real added value to helis vs multis, is the possibility of directional control after engine failure, you can choose the crashing spot.

    I am new to fpv flying. I installed all eqipment on Trex 500, but I never flu it thru fpv. I can fly my heli back and forth, as far as orientation goes. What would you recomend? I am in goggles Skyzone 04X.

    • @Fer84heli
      @Fer84heli  3 года назад

      I would advice to first practice a lot flying LOS, under all orientations and attitudes. Then moving to fpv mount an autopilot or FBL with self-level function and start putting your goggles on when the heli is already in the air at safe altitude in GPS/attitude mode. Start moving around with gentle inputs on the cyclic, learn the very peculiar helicopter responses and movements, it's not like flying a quad or a plane. Once you feel comfy flying with stabilization on you will feel the need to remove the stabilization and "just" stay with rate control (pure FBL) to get access to full potentiality and agility of your helicopter. It will come spontaneously. Have fun and fly responsibly :-)

    • @rmiklosh
      @rmiklosh 3 года назад

      @@Fer84heli Thank you for detail response. I have Microbeast plus FBL, but without stabilization for now (need to buy as extra option - attitude control). I will mount the cam on the tail and this would give me a view of how heli is oriented and plus I think it looks more interesting as far as video goes, rather then seeing some unknown fields and trees from above from video view point. I also heard that before landing you should hang over a landing spot and take off the goggles to make landing safer. Caz heli is not a drone at all)). My gear is Skyzone 04X, TBS Unify pro HV (VTX), Tarot OSD TL300 V2.

    • @Fer84heli
      @Fer84heli  3 года назад

      @@rmiklosh I wouldn't put the camera on the tail, for two reasons.
      One is merely mechanical, you could face more vibrations and get a crap video.
      Secondarily, believe me, it's very important to have full field of view with external references to prevent spatial disorientation. So put the camera where you have less "fixed" pixels in your video, otherwise you won't be able to do precise hovering/maneuering.
      Finally, before talking about landing you will have to learn to manage collective properly during transitions in and out of traslational effective lift, this is very different when flying with goggles on. So learn first to come to a complete stop without losing altitude (this requires some experience and so flight hours).

    • @rmiklosh
      @rmiklosh 3 года назад

      @@Fer84heliWell, I have my pitch curve set the way so when I go down with throttle stick to zero, pitch is - 1 degree negative, so the heli sticks to the ground during landing. When I take off, I usually wait until blades get their speed and just jump up to avoid ground effect. As you say @to have full field of view", I still need to see how helicopter is positioned in the air against the ground, so I thought It was a good idea to have it on the tail, where you can see both the heli and surrounding area. If I put cam upfront I will just see surrounding area and may get disoriented.
