Ever since I was very little, all my family would go on summer vacation near a lake. There were 8 grandkids, so my nana would come around to each of us and take our "order" on a notepad and then make all the sandwiches and pack them in the little baggies. Mary in Britain we do call them sandwiches, however up in the North of England and Scotland we sometimes call them butties. Because we always spread butter on the bread firstly. We have something called a chip butty. Basically you may call them French fries sandwiches. 😁

I'd have never thought 3 boys could eat all those in a day or two, but I've been reading Stanley Tucci's book Taste and he mentioned eating 3 or 4 sandwiches for lunch, and another 3 or 4 as a SNACK after school when growing up...! I grew up with only sisters and the dynamic around food is so different! So relaxing to listen to!
