You could eliminate a reducer or 2 by drilling and tapping a plug or cap. But what you have works, so there's no need to change it.

Thanks for sharing. I wonder if you could run a 10-32 die on 3/16 tubing to thread to the compressor then put a compression to NPT fitting on the other side to mate with the muffler. That would allow the line to be thread in tightly and likely eliminate a couple fittings.

Heads up that I think they changed the design of this switch and blow off valve! It's not longer threaded and that size.

what i have seen, there doesn't seem to be any problems with putting a muffler on the compressor, although i only looked up on a few articles, and wiki pages as well as RUclips videos, but it was quite difficult. If you want your own "yes or no" answer you will have to look that up yourself properly, hope this helps! :)

Any issues with water in the oil? I am considering this compressor but I am spooked by the number of posts talking about the water in the oil and the maintenance involved in dealing with that? Seems like @Eastwood would have figured this out by now?

I have not had any issues yet, but I heard about the same issue.

@@animatronicswarehouse looks like they added to the design to incorporate a ball valve and collector at the bottom of the tank in the most recent iteration of the design.

I can't see how adding the muffler can hurt, The purpose of the unloader valve is to reduce head pressure for start up so as long as it's bled off by the next start everything should be fine.
