Coming from a 2016 Kendo how would the Orb compare in terms of edge grip and stability at speed? I assume the Orb would be better in trees and bumps due to the softer tip and tails? I am looking for a daily driver New England ski with an upper 80's/low 90's waist. I want a ski that has strong edge grip, can handle speed and works reasonably well in trees, bumps, and a bit of fresh snow/crud. Would this be a good option or do you recommend something else? I currently have the Atris for powder days and am considering the Enforcer 100 for my western ski.
I think it's fair to say the Orb isn't quite as powerful as your Kendo, but it's not far off either. On the other hand, as you correctly identified, it's noticeably easier in bumps and trees. I think moving to the Orb would be a perfectly reasonable tradeoff for you. Retain most of the carving performance, gain some off-piste ability. A new Kendo would be a good option too, they built a little more versatility into it, although it still leans more towards the firm snow/carving side of things than the Orb. Hope that helps!
Hi. I own the black crows camox and the atomic redster tr. I need something in between. How does this compare to the blizzard Brahma 88? Or maybe the divus is a better choice?I need it for spring skiing and chopped up snow. Thanks
If you're looking for endless stability, power, and strength, I'd stick to that Brahma. For a level less in terms of weight and demand, the Divus is a whole lot of fun. It is narrower than the Brahma 88, though, so that's something to keep in mind. That'd make the Brahma a better option for spring and chop.
How does 2022 Orb compare to the new mindbender 89 ti and declivity 92 ti in terms of hard pack carving, versatility and crud? With reduced price Orb is same as these 2.
Orb's turn radius is pretty long. That makes it a bit easier to get through the crud, at speed, but it's also pretty darn stiff, while the other two are a bit more manageable at a variety of speeds. For cleaner and rounder turns, I'd lean to the Declivity or K2, but for better short-swing or super-long carves, Orb is a great option.
The Serpo follows a similar blueprint as the Orb, with H-Shaped metal laminate to get the grip. In addition to being wider, the Serpo also has more rocker and taper to it, making it a better choice for softer snow, bumps, and trees. In addition, the H-shape of the metal in the Orb extends further into the tips and tails than that of the Serpo, making it a more precise carver and a stiffer ski overall.

is 2018 version the same?
Yes, same ski, different look. Continues the same through 2023 as well, again with a different sheet.
