A Walk around an Abandoned Blackpool.

- We visit Blackpool almost every summer, and unfortunately, each year, we seem to find more hotels. pubs, businesses, etc, looking like the owner has locked the door and walked away forever.
A number of places across the UK are like this. When you see so many abandoned in a town, the term Broken Britain certainly springs to mind.
My friend the Wandering Turnip has done an in-depth look at Blackpool's abandoned properties on his RUclips channel, as well as other struggling towns. Do check out his channel.
There's still a lot of good things in Blackpool, and it's still tremendously busy on hot summer days....but a lot of it needs saving....if not too late already.

I'm glad that my grandparents and great grandpartents are no longer around to see Blackpool in this state. So sad.

turned around with blanket,wholesale demolition of everything behind the seafront,right down to yeadon way,a blank canvas,rebuild a new blackpool,it is looking more run down every year
it breaks my heart to see what's happened to my home town over the decades. Years of neglect, money not reinvested 😢😢
Yeah, some areas are really struggling. Hopefully something will be done sometime to save it.
@lancashirelass1998 apologies my video made you angry...not my intention at all. I love Blackpool, have filmed other videos here and, if you search my channel, you'll see my love of abandoned buildings and filming them. It's not to 'slag off', it's to capture things before they are lost to time forever.
It's a trend however, in many UK towns, that buildings are often just locked up and left by the owners who never return. My hope is that the parts of the town that need help get it eventually. I wish you all the best 🙂

it's a great town with many social and deprivation problems.
it's my home town and I love it.... First Leisure took all the money out of Blackpool and took it down South of the Country.
The Tory Government have cut 1 billion pound from funding so that's why it looks bad 😢😢 No mate, it needs highlighting, keep up the good work.

Such a shame and such a difference from how I remember it as a kid. Surprised you didn’t show the closed down shoe store that’s in the place of where the old Doctor Who exhibition used to be in the 70/80s (just down the side of where Madame Tussaud’s is now (which used to be Louis Tussauds)

I love Blackpool and have many lovely memories of holidaying there in the 1970's, 80's, 90's and into this century. Its like everywhere I have visited in the world, forever changing to suit the next gebneration.
I love it too. Hopefully the bad parts will be regenerated for the better in due course.

I’ve had some lovely times in Blackpool but I have to say in parts it’s awful I went in 1994 and I visited this year so 29 year later .and i loved it as soon as I came back I booked to go again 4 week later
I still love Blackpool. It's a special place. Some parts of it just need some help. 😊
So sad many places are dying , people go abroad for holidays and spent money there instead here

I'm from Ireland but used to go to Blackpool as a kid, every year, and I don't remember it looking like that.
10 years ago I took my daughter, when she was 11, and we did have great time, so there's still hope 😊
Like I say on the video there's still a lot of good in Blackpool, and the video wasn't meant as a knock, but hopefully some of these buildings can be saved 😊
Wow, looks worse than when i went there. Its gone down hill a lot over the last 10-15 years.
My ex is from blackpool, i live in sussex hastings is similar, although we are near london for jobs etc. Useless councils are the main problem
Used to go every year for rebellion festival. Not for a few years now though. It’s was run down then.

Stayed Feb 2024 at the Claremont hotel, walked into Blackpool along the front a lot of hotels and bars closed down shame
In Blackpool as I wrote this, it seems quite a bit better today....but then, the sun is out too!
Lords Hotel is meant to be owned by "new ocean hotels " I know this because new Ocean hotel charged my sister £20 for parking there two years ago.
With such high population density, is strange England has any abandoned spaces.

Blackpool got worse id say this past 10 years nothing get done about it ,its a dump ,council dont care street full litter lots houses and shops boarded up such shame its getting like beruit 😮😢😢
As energy costs go up, transportation will go up. Means people will go vacation nearby. Should be good for Blackpool.

I have travelled all over the world mainly for sports. I have skiid to the S Pole, across Greenland, climbed in S America and Asia etc etc bla bla.
I live in W Sussex, but I have never been to Cornwall, and I am not proud of it !!
Went to Cornwall 1990s, used to sleep on the beach at Newquay over Summer...Good Times. I wonder what it's like now?

The Tory government made sure the Northern places around England would be destroyed by poverty. No money invested sees many seaside towns in despair . We are living in a world where only rich people have the luxury of living. At this point living in these conditions is heartbreaking and I’m am glad my Grandparents are not here to see this country in the state it is in. My father always said the Tory party look after themselves and help the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. It all started when Margret Thatcher closed the pits down and destroyed the British industry and privatised everything. Since then the Tory government have chipped away at the economy until it no longer exists.

Greedy councils the business rates are to high plus the parking charges are to high that why public go to retail parks because they let you shop for a Hour and half with out getting ripped off 🇬🇧🧐
