Hi!!! I just received some Copics for Christmas and I was watching some videos to learn to color.... OH. MY. GOODNESS!! Your coloring of her skin is just so beautiful !!!! I love the tones... she almost looks real!!! I have watched others that use browns and yellows and the skin just does not look real to me..... I will have to go back and make note of the colors you used... I know I will have to buy some more colors, I got the 36 pack.. I will have to round out some of my colors.... but I want to make sure that I have the colors you used in this video!!! Thank you so much for the tutorial.... God bless!!
Hi Vicki,I have watched this tutorials a few times. Your skin is fantastic, probably the best tutorial I have watched. Thanks for the real time video. Su
I did a lot of research which colors I should buy for a skintone. Your video nailed it. Thank you, this was very helpful! And it looks stunning by the way
This is a beautiful piece! I'm pretty much of a beginner, and while I think I'm doing pretty much what you did here, my end pieces don't look any where nearly as pretty as this one!!! I keep practicing . . . but apparently keep making the same mistakes. Definitely going to come back and watch this again when I've got some pens and something to color in front of me.
so beautiful of your art work, I do love drawing, and i hope i can draw better. i still learning copic now...:) i really enjoy drawing with copic, it really fun and thanks for your sharing the copic skin tutorial
I just Can't emphasize enough how helpful this video is. Speed coloring and Speed anything is lost on me since my mind just can not keep , My M.S. has limited my processing speed drastically
Use a copic multiliner. There are various thicknesses, I prefer 0.3 in the regular pen (which is non-refillable) and the 0.25 SP pen, which can be refilled. These pens are water and copic proof, where-as the regular black copic markers are designed for blending. If you are stamping an image use something like Tuxedo Momento black ink. This will ensure your lines don't bleed into the colours.
What are you using for the outline. I got touchfive markers, I use to Micron pens and sometimes when I go over the outline with the markers the outline washes out. You know of any pens that don't wash out when you go over with the marker.
+Evelyn Edam . No, I use it to give a base for the colours to "sit" on. A colourless blender is for pushing the colour back into the lines, or adding dots or stripes of soft highlights after you finish.
oren knaan Hi Oren, I haven't seen touch five markers. If they are alcohol markers you may need to use different paper. I am using Express it blending paper by copic.
I use express it blending card, which comes in A4 sheets. It also comes in spiral bound books, both A4 and A6. You could contact copic directly to see if they make A3 size.
See the description for my recommendations for all my favourite art supplies , which can be purchased via my Amazon affiliate links. 🙂
This tutorial is perfect! I love that you repeatedly mention the color you use. Keep up the great work!!

What kind of copic tutorials would you like to see? Let me know in the comments :)
Whenever I color the black pen I use to line the art blends into whatever color I am using. What do I do?
Use a copic multiliner. There are various thicknesses, I prefer 0.3 in the regular pen (which is non-refillable) and the 0.25 SP pen, which can be refilled. These pens are water and copic proof, where-as the regular black copic markers are designed for blending. If you are stamping an image use something like Tuxedo Momento black ink. The best pen is a copic multiliner. They come in different thicknesses too.
So your using E000 like a colorless blender?
+Evelyn Edam . No, I use it to give a base for the colours to "sit" on. A colourless blender is for pushing the colour back into the lines, or adding dots or stripes of soft highlights after you finish.
+Aussie Stampers ohhh.. thx for letting me know
You're welcome!

oren knaan Hi Oren, I haven't seen touch five markers. If they are alcohol markers you may need to use different paper. I am using Express it blending paper by copic.
copic markers are water base?

I use express it blending card, which comes in A4 sheets. It also comes in spiral bound books, both A4 and A6. You could contact copic directly to see if they make A3 size.
