I think that's because it has the black optics. If you choose the standard chrome optics it's much easier to see the fake exhausts because of the contrast with the black background.

I had the same rule about food in the car, but after having 2 kids and moving into "car is a tool to please me, rather than I am to please my car" rule I've changed that and I allow eating inside. I have a car-spa pros that keep my car clean and tidy, both on the inside and on the outside, so I have no issues with doing just what you want and what pleasures my or my family members inside. To an extent, of course :) When it comes to the review, I don't like the A7 design overall, but while being BMW fan(atic) I must say that seeing black RS7 with chrome/while addons (those lines in front and back) on the road I was really stunned. No car in past few years was able to take my breath away like that one. Good job Audi designers, you did what BMW designers were not able to do in last few years ;)
Impressive car, impressive tech. I guess this will replace the 3.0 petrol in years to come. I am with you on food and cars. I am with you on food in cars. Thanks for that high quality review.
"They make everything optional so it goes really high in the price" - quite. In my situation, prefer a PHEV (with a decent EV range!) over an EV, as I wouldn't mind carrying around my own charging system to avoid 'charge-anxiety' due to inadequate charging infrastructure; but PHEV's are complicated and expensive. Great Review as always, with excellent driving part. 33:40 glad the car behind you stopped - and it looked like the car behind that was even closer - "Live on Tape". Many thanks Thomas and Jonas.
4:50 14 kWh battery, 7.4 kW Type 2 charging speed 50 TFSIe, 2.0 TFSI , 299 hp in total 55 TFSIe, 2.0 TFSI , 367 hp in total quattro is haldex, not torsen differential
S V. Tesla is great and miles away in terms of software, battery management, charger infrastructure and user interface but personally, being a car addict, I miss the wider car community. Also, even if they improved a lot, Tesla quality isn’t on par with the Germans. A lot of small details and general perceived quality are disappointing for me.
Great review. Really enjoy your details. You seem to be having fun with thre camera man also. He does an awesome job. Can you review the Mercedes AMG GT 53 4 door? Thanks! Keep up the great work
Greetings from Portugal :) Great Review. How many kilometers did you make on this review? because you used 50 % of the battery and i was thinking about it. keep up the good work :)
Hi Thomas and thank you for the review. Would be also relavant to mention a few words about real-world mixed fuel consumption. I know that for PHEVs each driving situation is different, but just some real world consumption data would be very helpful. Thank you.
Yes, can you do a PHEV review of mpg after initial battery is gone; would love to have it for Audi A8 e-hybrid and I do about 40K-50K per year....always wondered how good the regenerative ability is..Also, most of my driving in done in highway and it seems like that the regenerative ability is not good with highway driving (especially with cruise control)
Great review, as always👍😎 Yes,yes, a long term test, regarding consumption, it will be a very good thing to do. It will be a good thing for the car test as such, too, i think. Driving a car, every day, for a week, can maybe lat you with another impression of the car. You never know🤷♂️ It will be also very interesting if you can include in that test how much kWh you use for battery charging during this long term test😉
only downside to this car ( aside from price ) is if you get rear-ended very hard the lithium battery is so close to rear bumper it might catch on fire ... with this car you're basically risking your life to save the planet. BMW and Volvo both put the battery in safer locations but the Audi battery is larger in capacity and 14 KWH is actually respectable for a PHEV.
There are a few trends in the car world now that i hate. Super low profile rims and tires. You don't need 22 inch wheels on a family estate. For one thing it ruins the ride, plus it makes the rim much more susceptible to damage. This includes scratches, chips and even cracks that cause the wheel to leak air. With wheel like that you're just one pothole away from a cracked rim. But the other trend is fake tailpipes. Can someone explain this to me? I feel like on a high end luxury car that costs as much as a small house you could connect the exhaust to the tailpipe. Just saying.
There is no real demand for electric vehicles with today’s technology without big government subsidies. Some luxury models may make a profit but that’s about it.
I appreciate at this car that they(Audi) equipped the headlamps with washers which is a very useful option in the rainy and winter season with a lot of salt on the tarmac (BMW and Mercedes don't have it not even as an option on a certain models which is like a dumb decision to me
Headlamp washers? A debateable question. At one time, the fitting of headlamp washers was mandatory for HID's and Bi-Xenon headlamps over a certain candela, because if the glass gets dirty, there are major distorted reflections and subsequent scattered light 'dazzling'. Whereas with a conventional halogen headlight etc, dirt on the glass just reduces the candela output of the reflector, ie the headlight just gets dimmer!
