It's true, and a stupid car test in truth stuffing those huge bottles in the side of door holders. Car designers manufacture bottle holders for 500ml bottles, that's enough for the average rep driver at work driving these types of cars. That's a litre of fluids to hand and safely taken on route unlike the stupid 1.5ltr bottles. How can you really consume from this safely while driving at 70mph or thru a school zone? That athlete's remark is hard to believe too.

mega in you cant fit 6 footers on the rear seat. and they have removed swivel wheel from the center controls. The last one rs7 is mega.

RASM_ Red is popular for the A3 but definitely not on the RS6. I’ve seen plenty of black, greys & custom colours for the RS6.
RASM_ Yeah naw red is the color for the cheaper models (A/Q3-A/Q1) but the more expensive models are mostly presented in grey or black
Ya a bland grey or rental car white would be much better. Red is the perfect color to show it off
Even though i not really like the new A7 design, that red color definitely makes it worse. In full black it atleast looks aggressive from the front.
I can't understand why car manufacturers think that touch screens are a good idea. You learn the location of all the knobs and buttons and they get easy to use without taking your eyes off the road. This will never happen with a touchscreen, no feedback on where your fingers are.

Its much cheaper to produce 1 touch screen instead of 20 buttons and wheels...A way for manufacturer to save some money. Tesla is perfect example of "lets save as much money as possible on the interior" and the result of nothing but 1 screen is imo garbage. They advertise it as "futuristic" but to me it just looks cheap

This is what we've been trying to tell him, but he just won't listen...
Sadly the A7 was downgraded following this new generation design.
For starters look at that wing mirror. It looks just like the wing mirror on all the other Audi's.
Go look at the previous A7 wing mirror, it had a unique look where it did not have the black plastic basic, it had the same body colored design, similar to a Porsche. The A7 now looks just like a bigger A5.

I love the new A7, test drove two of them, and came within an inch of buying one (with about 12 grand off via Carwow). I just couldn't justify the cost in the end, not when my 1st generation A7 BiTDi is just so accomplished. Don't get me wrong, this new one is better in almost every way - it's much more taut and a better drive, and the interior is incredible.
The loss of the MMI wheel in place of touchscreen is a mistake though, in my opinion. The salesmen tout the voice control as being better, but I just feel like a lemon using voice commands to my car.

To me, the dealbreaker is the rear headroom. I am 189 cm tall and I definitely can't fit in the back there. Had the same problem in an VW Arteon

I am not a fan of the touchscreen in the new A6/A7/A8. Idk about everyone else but when doing motorway miles like I do, I prefer a swivel wheel like in BMW's iDrive system.

Jakrabat I own a 2011 M5 so will always be biased 🖒☺ but a m8 of mine owns the new c63 s coupe. That is a cracking car with a brilliant system.

I get that people preferred Audis old infotainment system over the new one and so did I, but I feel like no one ever brings up the topic of fingerprints on the screen when reviewing a Porsche or idk Toyota or any other car that has one or multiple touch screens. Same for the practicality while driving. A lot of cars have their touch screens located quite far down, such as the Opel/ Vauxhall Corsa. Reviewers don't ever talk about that but when it's an Audi they always point it out
Vanessa Oelmann Maybe that's a matter of who you are watching. I watch this, savagegeese, and the straight pipes. They all unanimously hate full touch screen and piano black plastic is high touch areas.
I love the aerodynamics in the Audi A7
The pictures and videos don't do this car justice. Few days ago I saw a white A7 with black wheels and I must say it's easily one of the most gorgeous vehicles on the road right now.
It's true that this car looks way better IRL but I still don't dig it. The old A7 is just gorgeous in comparison.

I got a TFSI version couple of weeks ago in Daytona. Black wrapped all of the chrome. Petrol version is really smooth, responsive and fast, but 28 mpg - only done 500 miles though. Tech is easy to use as you only repeatedly use 30% of it. I think the car looks awesome. next step, powder coating bright silver wheels in gunmetal gloss. I have standard suspension, it is v firm, but i like that.

I'm nearly done with Carwow now. It's so skewed towards Audi /VAG products in general that my interest has nearly died. I thought this was the video arm to back up the website, which supports buyers of *all* car brands. Honest John gives you the laughs with more variety.
Can't wait to see the RS variant of this new A7, Audi totally nailed it on the design in my opinion
You can just tell VW owns Audi in the first second you see the new A7. The MQB platform might be a work of art in terms of engineering but it has sucked the soul out of VW Group's entire lineup (which barely had any to begin with). There is almost no difference in interiors between the Polo and this A7.

This is a superior car! It's gorgeous inside out! For some reason, my mom says it looks OK. The only thing that beats it is Tesla Model S.
I reckon i have never used more than an 8th of my cars boot capacity in my one year of owning it.
Drove an A7 with the 21' wheels the other day and the ride was my only gripe. It was damn good but it wasn't perfect and my guess is that a smaller wheel option with a bit more tire would sort that right out. So, if you're going for an A7, snag the smaller wheels

No, you aren't. The car offers many features and quality, but the design is somewhow.... i don't know. The front is ok, in black with black optics it looks quite aggressive. But i completely dislike the rear part of the car. Overall, it can look good with better rims and other color. But that one in the video looks boring.

The worst part of the new A7 to me is it's wing mirror. Audi went all cheap of late giving every Audi the same type of wing mirror design, and the A7 is no different, gone was the full body color design door mounted wing mirror now it is the same top half body color, lower half black plastic. It's just like my A3.

@carwow - what does this A7 have over the BMW 6GT? You've mentioned a number of drawbacks (eg. engine noise, gearbox slowness, poor materials, low cargo height in the back, not very sporty, has a loading lip at the boot, can't hide the separating plates underneath etc.), yet you rate it above the 6GT, arguing it could have been more sporty. The 6GT is sporty and also check all the drawbacks of the A7 so ... I don't really understand your conclusions - you say one should shortlist the A7 but only Consider the 6GT.
Please try to fit a bike in every other car you are going to review. Even in a Miata or sth like that 😂

The first 3 minutes are just straight up irrelevant. Srlsy this is no family car. This is no A6 Avant. No one will ever carry his bike with this car or even 3 passengers in the back.
This is a business car for someone who thinks a A6 is too boring and a A8 too much.

It looks cool but BMW and Mercedes are at the top for interiors. Audi needs to catch up. The little tablet infotainments in most Audi’s are horrible.

That dashboard should have zero hard plastic for the price and the infotainment is awe full and will likely lead to accidents.

I love it when reviewers say they can't change the settings on a touch screen whilst driving. You're not supposed to! It's not safe driving procedure! Use the wheel controls or stop off when convenient. Still a lovely car though. Love these reviews.

If there's a better example of a depreciating asset than a blatantly overpriced German car, then please enlighten me. I know there are many more expensive things in life but expensive cars affect a lot more people. Most of middle class in the West pays an average of $500 pm on car payments but at the same time struggles to come-up with a $600 emergency expense. Talk about living on the edge...

Andrei Sorea All cars are classed as depreciating assets. After 10 years most of them aren't even worth 10% of their original value. Do you know what a depreciating asset is?

I actually think this car is ugly. I know not many people share that opinion but I find it looks like 2 different cars. The front doesnt look like it belongs with the rear and vice versa.
