    Wow man this has to be the best review video on these on RUclips!! I’m getting close to buying these myself and this is so helpful. I completely agree about why I’d get these and not the 44 G2 - these are wayyy more manageable for someone solo. And for bigger crowds I’d probably use different speakers or the traditional top and subs anyways!
    Also that’s great to know about the caution for placing things on top of the speaker grills. Great points and great video. Your videos have been so helpful as I’ve been doing research on these speakers!

    I've found running through a mixer also minimizes how often the DSP kicks in and the limit light comes on. Make sure to check your controller and even your laptop levels too so you're not sending in a signal that's too hot

    I run mine at 3 o'clock for both main and subwoofer volumes. I eq off my external mixer so I am not worried bout clipping. Sound is amazing and recently had a gig where i was asked to turn down the bass. They exceed my expectations every time I use them

      nice! yea I like the one less thing to setup right now, I don't mind running over to the speakers if needed to adjust lol, maybe one day will get a booth with stuff built in and ready and dialed in.

    Great video.
    This answered my question about Bluetooth. I wanted to get 2 of these and pair both via Bluetooth. Now I know I can't.
    Thanks....

      Yw! Yea I was disappointed by that, the Maui 28 G3 Mix is coming out next year and they have it. It looks like it will be worth the upgrade.

    Very good review, have them for about a year now too. Was wondering if you also experience bass trap after your DJ booth, because I see you place them about the same way that I do ?

      Have you treid the Cardoid function ? Some people say I shoudl buy a third sub and place it under my booth and set it on cardoit to reduce bass after the booth and more in front

    Great review man! These seem like the best bang for the buck column PA out right now. I really like the style of them especially in white. I had a pair of Evolve 50 and used them for 6 years. Traded them away and then found a pair of Evox J8 for sale for basically buy one get one free so I picked them up. All of the columns in this category are rally close in comparison so it really is just style and price that is the main factors! Anyway love all your videos and keep it up!!

      Thanks! Yea man I wanted them in white originally too but the place I had credit with only had them in black lol. I'm pretty happy with the black though too it matched the turntables nice. Yea it's hard to go wrong with any of them, it really just comes down to budget. I appreciate the support!

      How was the j8 compared to the EV50

    • @James.KingHTX
      @James.KingHTX 3 месяца назад

      @@mixx_factory The tops of the J8 are noticeably more harsh and loud. It is good you can adjust them higher than the EV 50 to get them over peoples ear drums. The bass is about the same. Overall I would say the EV50 sounds a bit better but the J8 gets louder and can handle slightly bigger parties/rooms. But overall they are very close.

    Speakers at this price should come with protective bags as standard. Yamaha Stagepass 1K comes standard with a protective bag for both the sub and top parts. EV provides bags for the top parts but not the sub.

    Thank you for the review it is very thorough. I own a pair of Maui 28g3 and the quality of the sound is what sold me. I have a couple of questions. After connecting bluetooth to one of the speakers is there away to connect by cable to the other 28g3? When i try the mix out it doesnt seem to work would liketo be able to use both speakers at the same time using bluetooth. Also you talked a little about connecting to from a mixer to the speakers no one has a video on the different ways to connect showing the cableing and the best ways to connect, such as do you run left and right out of mixer into one speaker and then mix L&R to the other speaker? How to cable in and out to another Maui sub or just another sub like EV 12" or 18" what would be the best configuration and no videos on cardioid setup and cableing. I've read about heard about it but no videos. Thanks again for your video and taking the time to make it for us it was the most informative i have seen and heard it was real, it was honest, and thorough.

      you're welcome! happy it helped some, those are some good questions I'm going to do a video asap checking all them out but yea I think the mix out only works with stuff that is plugged in. I don't think there is a way to get 2 speakers to run the same bluetooth signal which is maybe the biggest downside to the 28s over 44s, got you soon, thank you!

    What was upgraded from the 28 Maui g2's

    • @letitdropent
      @letitdropent  Месяц назад

      They switched from having 2 8in subs to 1 12in sub, they also changed the mid and highs speaker sizes a little. It gets a little lower and louder now.

    Hi great review. I'm a vocalist guitarist entertainer using one mic an electric guitar and iPod for backing tracks all going through my mixer . I was thinking of buying 28 G3 system can't afford a pair of them.
    Do you think that one 28 G3 system would be sufficient? I mostly play in bars and small clubs. I'm using a stereo digital mixer how would this sound would i still get some sort of stereo image by using two cables going in left and right into the 28 G3 ? Thanks

    • @letitdropent
      @letitdropent  3 месяца назад +1

      hey, ty! Yea I think 1 would be fine for like background bar/dinner music. I see a lot of like restaurant and bar solo musicians with just 1 speaker in this area so you should be good as long as it's not the main event. I reached out to LD about the 1 speaker taking a stereo input and if it produces a stereo image or if it's summed mono. I'll hopefully hear back or I'll just get something setup to test it myself soon.

    i use these in white for gigs... ive found for most of my events im hitting the limit. in a small room its fine but a larger hotel with much larger space they start to limit a lot more... so for me i use up to around 80-100 people. For a larger room and i need to fill more sound i will use a RCF732MK4 speakers as wedge monitor for more power... if i have 100+ in a large scale room then the mauis are left at home and i use the RCFs. its all about the room, space and how much sound you need not want. 90% of my gigs im with the 28s, and the odd event add 1 rcf as a extra...

    • @letitdropent
      @letitdropent  3 месяца назад

      that's what's up! yea I really wanted them in white originally but the black grew on me a lot not sure if I'd change it now. Yea man having the multiple speakers is key, I've done hotel rooms up to 5k square feet but I got the EV8 doing a lot of work playing fill.

      I saw another guy do a review of his settings he has the volume 1 notch from full and the sub around 12-1oclock I’ve noticed I have to turn my J8 up around 3/4 in the back. That seems to work and still not clipping

      hey! yea about 150 for a wedding is good, above that I'ld look into a more bass and then more speakers to fill the space.

    Great vid, I'm waiting on a pair of 28 G3's to be delivered to me in the next 2 weeks (from today's date 13 Sept 2024) I purchased them just on DJ AARON STRAWN's YT Ch RECOMENDATION (Thanks Bro)
    I went & got a set of bags and can relate that even here in Australia they are bloody expensive ($650- AUD)
