Thank you so much for figuring this out & sharing the info! There is not much out there about this! One of the subjects i capture with my mini 4 is ocean wildlife, Whales, Dolphin, Sealions.... And the biggest limitation is being able to see my subject with the sun reflections on water & the controllers screen which is not bright enough in sun. So using this setup you have configured whould probably give me the best visibility with my subject. Whould love a more in-depth video on this going over any limitations with the drone controls, lag time, controllers battery time wile connected to goggles, pros & cons of overall experience? Also how long do the batteries last on the quest 3 while connected with the drone in these conditions? Thanks again for sharing the info to the community!
Thank you for this insightful information! Can the screen through which you are flying on the headset be enlarged such that you are seeing mostly with the drone sees?
@@jonathanrhodes4788 yes, you can make as big or as small as you need. I thinkyou can only make it up to a certain size but you can always walk closer to it if you need to see it even bigger lol
@@luisdefreitassabarretojuni2670 no noticeable lag when flying this kind of drone. I dont know if there would be a more noticeable lag if you're flying a fast FPV drone for example.
Great Video man. This is soo awesome. Honestly makes me want to get a meta quest just for this. Can this be done with Mini 3 pro you think? As long as your using same controller?
Now that's some great informative content ! I do have the quest 3 and the DJI Smart controller, which has a HDMI output. I wonder if that would work with the quest 3 using just a HDMI to USB-C cable 🤔 Also, why didn't you just use a direct USB-C to USB-C cable ? Do you have to have that video capture device in between for this to work ?
@@boebhang8102 Im sure there's a minor delay if you fly FPV which needs latency to be kept very low, but its not really noticeable. I dont feel like there's any delay.
@@I2AT when you say the "hdmi pass through" what are you referring to? Are you referring to the hdmi adapter in the middle instead of a straight cable from the remote to the headset?
@@I2AT As far as I know, thats not possible. The adapter is what tells the headset that there's a video feed coming in. With only the usb cable the headset will think that only data and files will be transferred.
@@ngochungnguyen551 for HDMI video input you will still need the video capture card. The Quest 3 wont understand that you want to feed it video if you connect it straight with the USB C cable. It will assume you want to transfer just data.

High tech content! Waiting to see a longer tour, as the wind allows.
Wow that's an awesome feature to use with the quest!
And an amazing location for water activities!
Keep these coming 🤙
Understood. Thanks so the reply. Appreciate the info. Take care, Travis.

Can it be a RCN1C or does it have to be RC2?
hi Alain, thanks for the content. Do you have any lag issues? Or it works with no lag?

Yes, you have to have the USB capture card in between so the Quest can receive the video feed. Otherwise it wont work. I tried it. 😊
