Live, the bassist Haru isn't especially blended in with the guitars.. so that'll just be a production thing for this album. She's fun to watch - first time I saw someone playing an ESP "Stream" bass too, pretty cool design

Thanks, David! I did enjoy the show. Admittedly I went with this one next largely to bring the energy up (after Misery Machine). I love the little things put in it, though: the feel changes, accents, breakdown, triplet ending, even the kick pattern underneath the harmonized guitar melody. Just a small reminder on the band: Bride + dear
I can see what you mean about the bass. I guess for me, it's fine as long as it's audible enough to add to the song. Then again, I didn't really pay attention to bass parts before following this channel. 😅 As for being catchy, I think that generally just makes a song more memorable, and that can come from any melodic part. That's one thing that makes Bridear stand out to me.
BRIDEAR songs always have this thing that make me feel a bit more positive after listening to them, I can't point the finger to what it is about them that creates that effect on me but I just know it does. And Ghoul is a great example of that.
It's a similar effect for me, which I think is just the fun of hearing a lot of things I enjoy in one package: generally high energy, strong melodies and grooves, rhythmic and/or structural curve balls, stylistic range, and of course great musicianship. It happens with some songs more than others, but it kinda feels like a ride.
It's a shame the bass is kind of low. Haru is a really good bassist.

Because the music video isn't necessary at all to evaluate the song, and it would increase the risk of the reaction being blocked.
