- Carol McFarlane is among Milwaukee's nearly 4,000 victims of car theft this year, many at the hands of the so-called Kia Boys. They're mostly teens and underage boys who steal Hyundais and Kias for joy rides. They often crash the cars or abandon them after they run out of gas.

Start charging the kids parents as well. Multiple offenders should be either jailed or put into a halfway house to where they need to work to pay off a brand new car for the owner, and an extra 50k for the victim, in a lesser time, than whatever the jail time, would be. Make an entire type of court around it, kinda like drug court. A lot of kids will most likely end up recommiting, but some might not, and could honestly even help a lot of these kids, who obviously don't have a good family life at home. The fact that this isn't already a thing is beyond me to be honest. We could be helping both parties.

It's more of a people problem, as other countries don't seem to have issues with this. Too many kids from single mothers that don't know to keep their grubby hands off other peoples' shit. Back in the 00's, they used to steal Ram trucks with a flathead screwdriver, although they'd only take the 18" rims and leave the truck on blocks because Ram trucks suck ass.

MKE police department is less than exemplary. Understaffed, over worked, and some officers could care less. I had to fill out an accident report in the police station with the person that hit me with no help from the police. The 1/2 dozen where just on their computer or phones chatting it up. Prime example of why there are continued issues with crime in MKE. That is why I left MKE.

I live in Minnesota I my kia got broken in too by some who watch videos of kia boys but I feel violated that anybody could do something like that and surprisingly somebody must have spooked them did not get my car but they broke out my window and tore my steering wheel apart and kind of don't feel very safe in it but I'm still driving it I got my window fixed couldn't fix the stream will cover because they broke it really bad I hope those cute boys if it's them or anybody who tries to steal cars like this gets what's coming to him
