POINT BLANK PERIOD !!!
The 2nd story about the woman who visited the dog for a year. She called animal control twice on the owners. It took a year of her feeding him and visiting before animal control seized the dog and gave it to the woman.
Interesting, that's not how she told the story, how do you know this? All I could think was is this poor doggo an Akita, it certainly reminded me of the one in the movie Hachi with Richard
Geer, really good movie if you haven't seen it.
I was wondering why she would hesitate to call animal control for a year.
@bkm2797 It's shortened to fit in the compilation, I think. I too remember her calling them twice. The first time, I believe they said "As long as she has food, water, and shelter." But it was the woman feeding her. The second time, they agreed.
These are real heroes to me. They're not just caring, but also creative, inventive, intelligent, and responsible.
These 5 women deserve medals.

Bless you all who do this. We definitely need to start treating people who are cruel to animals was harsher. Mine punished is brutal..
Harsher punishments don't work as a deterrent. You would think they would, but statistically and historically we know that the opposite happens. When punishments are made harsher, crime goes UP.
I think it's sort of a monkey-see monkey-do effect. People notice "hey, this government is really brutal and harsh - I guess being brutal and harsh is acceptable behavior now!"
If we want more compassion in the world, then we need to model more compassion.

Bless all of you beautiful women! Erica I honestly believe animals with disabilities have a larger heart and can show their appreciation for help and the life they get to live even with a condition. I adopt and take care of cats and I seem to find the ones who need extra time and loving due to what they may have experienced before life with me. I ❤love humans who love animals of all kinds. Makes the world a better place to help others.

"Drunk men at an auction throwing beer cans at him". My blood boils when I hear stuff like this. How does someone think that's actually normal behavior? WTF is wrong with people. I'm so grateful Emma saved Pete and then chose to give him an even better life by allowing the sanctuary to take him in. I don't think I would've waited a year to drop a dime on the tied up dog. That said, I'm glad Laura opened her heart even more and gave the dog a home. All of these rescuers are amazing beings. I'm thankful for their positive contribution in changing the lives of these animals/fish. Wonderful, wonderful.

I'm a fish keeper/lover, so I understand the pull of wanting to save those betta at pet stores, but please do not buy them. You aren't rescuing them as much as you are telling the store there is a demand for them, so the more you buy to "rescue", the more are restocked and destined for torture.
I know it's heartbreaking, but the way they are kept and sold will never change as long as the stores continue to get your money for the animal's pain.
I've known the kindest cowboys. Cowboys that are cruel to animals, are the animals.

The mare I'm on was abused. Took 5 years to turn her around into a 4 time state champion.
Story 2 is about a woman who visits a dog for a year. She called animal control twice for her owners. It took a year for animal control to retrieve the dog and give it to the woman.
Why did it take the woman in the second story an entire year to call animal control?!? Did she not know the dog was abused or neglected? A whole year, what a wonderful dog rescuer !!!!
I’m not sure I would have kept my cool for that long with such despicable people who abused the dog. I don’t cut people that much slack.
I wonder if she would use something like a big bicycle seat with one large swivel tire under it that can be attached with a special seat belt. That way she is still in a seated position and won't have all of her weight on her front legs.
What about prosthetics instead of wheel chair?
