  • NASAMS or National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System is the world’s first network-centric short- to medium-range ground-based air defense system. It features numerous simultaneous engagements and Beyond Visual Range capabilities that are tightly integrated and tailored to a nation’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense. NASAMS network widens the protected area and improves the armed forces’ overall combat capacity. It has been evolving continuously since its inception in Norway.

Kongsberg’s web site calls it the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System. So I believe you are mistaken.
The system was developed by Kronsberg and Raytheon so it is a joint venture between a Norwegian and US company.
Still a great system both companies should be proud of.

Someone should make a NASAM format but much smaller and shorter range. Maybe 20 launch tubes and use guided 70mm rockets or something, specifically for shooting down medium and small drones. Cheap and quick response with good optical id and targeting of small shit should be the key here. Doesn't have to have 70km range, just enough to clear the sky of the eye's and grenade droppers.

A couple of programmable airburst rounds is more than enough to take down most drones in a relatively inexpensive way compared to most rocket systems.
