The Kingdom Hearts series are coming to Steam today, so here's my re-recording of this iconic piece to celebrate it! 🎉 Utada made an incredible job at composing this song, it fits the KH vibe perfectly and sonically I think it blends perfectly with Shimomura music ✨ Without a doubt it's my favourite KH main theme (and I love My Sanctuary and Don't Think Twice a lot hehe)
This re-recording is a bit more contemplative and unhurried than my previous one (that's made the cover last more than 6 minutes this time lol), it's just the way I feel this music atm but I also like my previous and more intense recording, it's nice to have both versions to choose!

love how you took your time here, it really lets the song breath and sound even more beautiful than it already was, I think it is a brilliant choice to make and it doesn't hurt that you have the skills to pull it off like the veteran pianist you are!

Lovely work! I think this cover works great being played more contemplatively. I'm editing a manuscript right now and this is some great chill background music while I work! Speaking of games Yoko Shimomura worked on, I'd love to hear your take on "Beware of Forest Mushrooms" (the Forest Maze theme) from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It's my favorite track in the game.

Yeah Clive's Theme melody starts exactly in the same way as the Simple and Clean chorus hehe, that's the first thing I noticed!
