Hi Roxanna. Do you grow any perennials in your raised beds? I would like to try this, but fear they won't survive my 6a winters unless planted in the ground. If you or anyone else has experience with this I'd love to hear. Best, Brittany.
I haven't...yet, although I am thinking of adding some lavender here and there, I think survival is going to depend entirely on the perennial you chose, if I was you and wanted to do this I would try it and maybe mulch a bit more on those areas.

Your Bathsheba rose looks really healthy! I have an Emma Rose Austin in a pot, but was told they don't overwinter in pots in our zone. I'm in Westfield. I was thinking I would have to transplant it into the ground in the fall. Abviously, not the case for you?
Well, don't completely take that advice of overwintering the pots in a safe place, while I do have this Bathsheba in a "container", the corten steel planter is kinda big, it does not have a bottom so its seating on the ground... also, it is on the south side of the garage so its super protected adding a bit of warmth to the planter, I am not saying this is why it works with mine, but I think you definitely need to take some extra precautions with roses in planters.
