Rupert has an incredible ability with words. Not a word too many or too few. Not a word misplaced or poorly chosen. He is also a great listener and incredibly patient and loving with the questioners
“I am at exactly the same ‘here’ that you are at.” is the first time I’ve ever caught Rupert ending a sentence with a preposition.

Love is the state we are seeking out to break free from the finite self we perceive, which is why we love it. How beautiful. To stay in a state of love, to not have resentments and to face fear down is a very happy place to be. Love is the proof of oneness. Love Rupert, his teaching has brought me such peace.

There is only one unlimited self, but the one experiencing the universe is always limited self. Its like sun is only one but when we see many of sun's reflections in different bodies of water, there appear to be many suns. Same thing is of the self.
There is only one Consciousness. It is the same Consciousness playing all body-minds. 🙏
I believe that to be true also. But I cant prove it, can you? Rupert fails to prove it, simply tells us he doesn't need to prove it. There is nothing that Rupert says that would not support the theory that there are infinite layers of individualized consciousness layering/interlacing over one another, each with the 'thickness' of zero.
@@space-timemeat-vehicle6459 Individuality is an illusion. I can't prove it nor do I need to either, but it can be directly realized. There really is no way to prove the world is round to one who believes the world is flat...except maybe to walk in a straight line with them looking for the edge until you return to where you started. Only by one's direct experience is it proven to themselves.

Yes consciousness is one experience. But just as tei magnets have seperate fields with exactly the same characteristics they are still two seperate fields...not one field being expressed in multiple ways. Am I missing something here?

I don't hear the same authority in Robert's videos, but I think they're of value and good.
Limitation exists in that the contents of consciousness are different in the space of awareness. All contents appear in the ONE AWARENESS. So, you can't know the contents of consciousness in the apparent other. This is what people are seeking some type of clairvoyance. But clairvoyance is always limited even though it manifests as expanded perception. The expansion is greater but limited anyway--just like in mediumship abilities.
Love everything and everyone unconditionally till the time you lose yourself in love and become love(which is consciousness itself) at the end of your journey- Bhakti yoga.

I see it kind of like the body/mind is a lens or instrument localized in space/time. But the Spirit-Witness-Consciousness that sees and knows through the myriad lenses is without limitation. Lots of metaphors for it. Like the same gold that makes many different ornaments. Or the same sunlight which illumines many dew drops. Rupert is 100% right when he says it must transcend belief to become an experiential knowing/seeing/feeling. It can't just be dry concepts. I think the experience of Love is wonderful evidence. There is also something I call synthesis seeing. It's a deeply felt experience that everything you sense is part of a vibrating, shining, unbroken multidimensional fabric. Some might call it the Holy Spirit. For me that is the experience of being cradled by the Love of God. At once held by, yet somehow indistinguishable from, God in a way that can only lead you to your knees in gratitude and awe at the mystery and majesty of creation.
So , a question. Fields can overlap.
In the realm of physics two magnetic fields can overlap in two different ways. One way there is a force against each other and another way they are attracted to each other and even pull strongly enough to attach to each other. In the first way the fields are so strong it is impossible for the objects creating the fields to stay connected at all.
This kind of thing happens in personal relationship as well. If one or both person give off enough negative energy toward each other it becomes almost impossible fir them to be close to each other. And on the other hand if they are caring and loving each other it is very likely they will remain closed to each other.
So just as we may not have the ability to sense the edges of the fields of magnets so too we simply might not be able to sense the edges of an awareness field that could possibly be generating the movement of the individual fields of heart, mind, body etc. Can anyone agree with this potential? I mean I do want to agree with the idea that we are one field but to conclude the field is one simply because we can not sense the edges..I sense the question has room for consideration. Any responses?

I suppose the question comes down to what perception is or why it comes to arise. Where does the illusion of seperate consciousnesses come from? How can an indivisible whole "appear" divided? To me, the most compelling evidence of universal consciousness is the many post mortal accounts and other spiritual accounts of returning to the experience of total undifferentiated consciousness; of "merging" again; of the illusion dissolving.
True. There are accounts from people who had NDE that they became aware of the experiences of their loved ones... ie the barrier to know and be aware from other points of view wasnt there any more... while still experiencing their self as a content in consciousness.
The idea of consciousness as a unifying field in which everything is then explains why it is possible to still exist after death and still go on as a sepate being if that is what one desires
He is asking the question on the bases that he identifiers as a body-mind-mechanism. He does not discern that the body and the subjective thoughts and feelings are appearing in awareness. He is identifying with the contents of consciousness not awareness.
We can see each other, because we‘re in one consciousness.
All is ONE! Know this, FEEL this, BE this. The rest is just chatter for the mind (which is also the ONE appearing as chatter of course!)

Well no one has that experience...but neither do magnets experience or know where the fields come from but the individual fields do exist.
The fields may have the exact same characteristics just as the seperate magnets have exactly same field characteristics. The fields are not different in nature they are exactly the same in nature but have individual strengths and sizes etc.
It seems to me so, in principle.
Otherwise, how could our consciousness ever connect with the Superior Consciousness?
We are the Superior Consciousness except there is no super or inferior there is only ONE and we are all that 🙏❤️

Love is the evidence that consciousness is one - and hate is the evidence that consciousness is not always one (at least semantically). Or not ?
Isn't this like saying we all share the same earth? I don't get it.
When Rupert asked if he could find limits or boundaries to awareness, I wish he would have answered "Every person in this room is a boundary to my awareness; I cannot know what you or anyone else is thinking, those are limits of consciousness." I believe he tried to articulate this but never quite did.
Wouldn't he say that limitations of consciousness only apply to the limited self but not to consciousness itself though ? I'm not sure..

What Rupert Spira says is not necessarily the truth, it rather is experimental. He knows this too. And he doesn't claim to speak the truth always, noone could do that. I see what Rupert says as an inspiration and not necessariliy as the full truth.

How is consciousness unlimited? Why can't I hear a baby cry 50 kms away then? That's a limit...
In Rupert's model, I believe he is referring to consciousness as the ability to generate and/or experience phenomena. The limit of your hearing range is a limit of biology, not the mind. You would have to understand the mind not as the brain, or its sensors, but as the fundamental basis upon which experience is possible. I do not believe the mind is unlimited, because it experiences the limits of the phenomena it perceives, but that is different from saying the mind itself has a limit. To use an analogy, it would be like saying an infinite string of numbers does not have a limit, but each individual number does have a limit, so the nature of the infinite string is comprised of limited phenomena.
You’re equating consciousness with hearing. Hearing is limited, not consciousness.

@@amamihe6465 It is belief that is limited. Hearing is not limited. There are nde accounts where the "person" hears things far outside their range of location.

Explanatory value: Love could also simply be oxyitocin, endorphins etc
It seems to me Rupert is referring to love as the experience, not the mechanism, as a means to describe an indirect perception of unity. The issue I have with it is that indirect unity is still indirect, so Rupert's experience of love is not my experience of love, or yours, which still implies separation of some sort. A single mind without separation only has itself to love, but a separated mind can not love itself directly as a single entity, because it requires multiple perspectives that can only love the whole indirectly.
This is a universe of mind, of consciousness, not matter. "Matter" is very literally nothing other than the belief in objectivity, so it is a belief. Chemicals are beliefs.
@@adorableinsect Mind/Consciousness is infinitely Self-aware. It is Intelligence, Itself. An "other" is simply the mistaken belief there is ever a finite reference point. It is the belief in objectivity.
Love is the very Substance of Being, of indivisible Mind. We, as one Consciousness, live in the mistaken perception that "we" are countless reference points or awarenesses, but Mind is indivisible. It has never been shattered or carved up into subjects and objects. That is the fundamental illusion. That is the belief that gives rise to an apparent world or Maya.

If you accept a material one, there will seem to be apparent persons, matter, chemicals, and everything else that appears objective. This is the general worldview. If you listen to Rupert Spira, you must at least entertain the idea of a spiritual reality beyond the senses. The atom is empty space, or to be more accurate, it is 99.9999% empty space. Physics is slowly, very slowly, catching up with the metaphysical reality that we live in a universe of consciousness, not materiality.

You are so tied to your structure of reality with its logic, which is fine Rupert, but in my experience, there is a supple paradoxical nature to reality! As another teacher says- there is a myself/yourself with my own lives -proper to each one; and there is boundless nondual awareness, let us have Both-And!
