  • Long walk through the Vegetable Gardens, on growing now and Fall and Winter, Container gardening, ground gardening, tomatoes, peppers, Zucchini, squash, ginger, turmeric, watermelon, kale, collard, purple tree collard, sorrel, moringa tree, papaya, walking onions, garlic chives, Swiss Chard, mint, kaboca, and herbs and so much more. We grow in the ground and lots of container gardening, totes storage containers, we recycle and grow food that way too. Health and Nature too in this garden talk walk in the early morning.
Growing Vegetable Gardens in the ground and in Totes, CHAIRS and Containers, Flower Pots and in the Ground, and of course, as I COMPOST in PLACE, (always tips and ideas as We go through). Things are changing, new gardens are coming, that ANYONE can do and grow tomatoes and squash, basil, radishes, lettuce and more are growing...Birds are breeding and eating our pest insects. Squash and zucchini are producing food, setting up in the ground and in all kinds of contains, papayas are growing so big, and we get to eat them all week now, Peppers are growing, tomatoes going great, lettuce we eat daily and so much more. Solar fountains all over, bring in nature and birds. And showing the bathtub with a solar fountain now which the birds love is getting BIGGER.

Be assured, you have accomplished your goal of getting us excited to grow our own food. Not only is your enthusiasm contagious, but you make it look so easy and relatable. It's just as you say...we see what you've accomplished and it makes us feel that we can do it, too. However, I'm sure it would not be so easy without you showing us the way. Thank you for caring! I am also encouraged by your "health reports." It's great to hear how you are blessed by the foods you grow and the choices you and Gary have made live more wholesomely. Your experience is valuable; thank you for sharing.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
    I do hope your well.
I just spent 90 PLUS min watching your video. At 40 min I was thinking “this is too long” At the 50 min mark I paused it because I had to do something. Cane back to the video and thought “wow what a long clip”. I paused it a few more times after that. I didn’t want to miss a thing. I love your energy and the “it’s ok” attitude. I used a tote last summer because I was learning about gardening in pots. I got all excited and bought grow bags before I read the cons of grow bags. So I put the grow bag inside a tote bin and put it out on my back 4 X 6 slab (aka patio lol) My son looked at it and thought I was crazy. I’m thinking “Back here no one will see it” (HOA has issues) Like you I was ok with whatever happens. Not much happened. Tomato plant grew and flowered but a heat wave followed by a storm (south Florida hurricane season) injured it. I just kept on watering it. Plus these 2 poor pepper plants out there. Guess I’m not getting pollinators so I bought milkweed to attract pollinators . That worked very well. Now I’m raising caterpillars (that’s how well it worked) on my front screened in patio. I’ve never done this before.
I can see the back patio plants from where I sit watching RUclips and tv.
It’s December 2023 and I have 8 flowers and 2 small tomatoes just starting and the sickly pepper plant has six flowers. I’ll just keep tending to these plants with no expectations. They are very green and getting bushy. Nice to look at and who knows what may happen in the spring.
Meanwhile, back to the front patio - one of my caterpillars is now a chrysalis. He should emerge as a butterfly within a week. I’m going to raise monarch butterflies as much as I can alongside container gardening. I’m going to go through your videos or some more unique ideas.

Hello Robbie, love your videos...In this one @ 4:30 you're talking about a some kind of vegetable vine and wondered a little bit about it..It is an edible perennial vine in the family of Basellaceae named Basella alba, Basella Nightshade or Basella Spinach. It is found in tropical Asia and Africa where it is widely used as a leaf vegetable. They don't eat the leaves raw, and use it in some kind of vegetable soup. When chopped and cooked, it yields some slimy consistence but not as heavy as okra. And yes, children can use the juice of those little fruits to make ink, or dye.

I have a ton of them i even toss them and they grow water method bah humbug never works!😂 i am truly grateful for Robbie as well because i would have trued her methods sooner had i found her but every other gardener i have watched told me restart everything every year and sadly i did pull things that were healthy i thought it would not survive or thrive i would be a lot further had i found Robbie sooner.

Mints die down here but will resurrect in the Spring. I watched your video about putting the mint in your Bullit to make your iced tea. So I started doing that. I was just thinking you could sell or do the freecycle for your avocado trees that keep popping up or trade them just a thought.

I would LOVE to purchase some seeds from you! Celery, chamomile, anything really! I don't know if moringa puts out seeds but I'd buy those too if they did. I'm in Los Angeles so probably a similar climate.

I cook with celery seed all the time. The taste is a little different than celery stalks or celery leaves. Combine all the parts for a nice layering of flavor.

You mention front yard, side yard, main garden, etc. I have trouble picturing your property. Could you draw a simple plan so we can see the north, south, east, west for your property? I still struggle with what will grow in different area of my garden and I think it would help to see where stuff grows in your yards.

I have three pomegranate trees from seeds (volunteers) but none turn out good (I knew the mother plant; it is producing much and the fruits taste awesome). Now I am in the process of pulling them out after years of growth.

We love avocados but growing from seed they many times are not the good ones to eat, best if they are grafted, they grow really easy, take care, Robbie

This heat is so sad for my hummers. I’ve been trying to keep them cool. But they are haggard. Poor things. They are going to my 3
Water fountains. I have a mister stand but not sure they are using it.
